Marjorie Brower Curtis
Mrs. Curtis, 95, of Rumson, and formerly of the Belford section of Middletown, died Feb. 14 at home. She was born in Raritan Township. Mrs. Curtis was a retired file clerk at Bell Labs, Holmdel, where she was employed more than 15 years. She is survived by a daughter, Marjorie Glisson of Atlantic Highlands; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Arrangements were by the Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank.
Lucy Scott Hilton
Mrs. Hilton, 85, of Sea Bright, died Feb. 22 at home. Born in Eau Claire, Wis., she resided in South Orange, Allenhurst, West Long Branch, and Rumson, prior to moving to Sea Bright in 1988. She was an administrative assistant at Riverview Hospital’s Mental Health Clinic for 20 years. She was a parishioner for 50 years at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Rumson. She was a volunteer at the Monmouth Association for Retarded Children, and Lunch Break, Red Bank. She was predeceased by her husband, John in 2002. She is survived by her children, John Hilton of New York, Sarah Hilton and Judith Hilton, both of Sea Bright, Mark Hilton of the Locust section of Middletown, Lucy Minder of Maine, Peter Hilton of Rumson, Rev. Hank Hilton of Baltimore, and Jamie Hilton of Rhode Island; and 12 grandchildren. A Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated at Holy Cross Church. Julia Frances Moeller
Mrs. Moeller, 89, of Little Silver, died Feb. 25 at Navesink Harbor, Red Bank. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had resided there, the Bronx, N.Y., and Fair Haven before moving to Little Silver. Mrs. Moeller was a homemaker. Prior to that, she was employed at New York Life Insurance Co. Her memberships included the Daughters of the American Revolution, Little Silver Woman’s Club, and Monmouth Museum, Lincroft section of Middletown. She received a Prestigious Service Award for her volunteer work with United Cerebral Palsy. She was also a Cub Scout den mother. Mrs. Moeller is survived by two daughters, Anne Bicker and Mary Moeller; two sons and daughters-in-law, Peter and Mary Jane Moeller, and Thomas and Karen Moeller; and four grandchildren. was celebrated at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, followed by entombment at Mount Olivet Mausoleum, Middletown. The John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, was in charge of arrangements.
Gerard Marciano
Mr. Marciano, 84, of Spotswood, died Feb. 7 in Saint Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Lorraine Horn Marciano; three sons, Gerard Marciano of Jackson, Mark Marciano of South River and Michael Marciano of Cranbury; two daughters, Claudia LeBedz of Lakewood and Virginia Korth of Orange Park, Fla.; a sister, Theresa D’Amato of Eatontown; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood. Interment
was in Holy Cross Burial

Kingdon Ruldolf Westerlind
Mr. Westerlind, 77, of Monmouth Beach, died Jan. 24 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was raised in Babylon, N.Y., and later moved to Middletown. Mr. Westerlind was the president of King Construction, Middletown. He also developed and owned several nursing homes and assisted living facilities. He served with the U.S. Navy during peacetime, where he played football and was invited to play in the Hula Bowl. Mr. Westerlind was predeceased by a brother, William. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Geraldine; a son and daughter-in-law, Kingdon G. and Courtney Westerlind of Rumson; two daughters and sons-in-law, Laura and Jeffrey Layton of Ocean Township, and Regina and Kenneth Stevenson of Monmouth Beach; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Jeanne Westerlind of Florida, and Noel and Vicki Westerlind of Middletown; a sister-in-law, Linda Westerlind of Long Island, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren. Dorothy Evelyn "Evie" Verange
Mrs. Verange, 90, of Middletown, died Feb. 16. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had resided in Monmouth Beach and other Monmouth County towns before moving to Middletown. Mrs. Verange was a homemaker. She was an active member of the Holmdel Fire Auxiliary and the Red Bank Elks. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Beth Verange of North Andover, Mass., and Philip and Susan Verange of Little Silver. The John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown, was in charge of arrangements.
Robert D. Cahill
Mr. Cahill, 49, of Freehold Township, died Feb. 26 at home. Born in Neptune Township, he was a lifelong resident of the Freehold area. He was a carpenter for the Monmouth County Park System and had previously been a member of Carpenter Union Local No. 2250, Red Bank. He was also a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold. Surviving are his wife, Catherine Wilder Cahill; a son, Kyle C. Cahill, at home; his parents, William "Pete" and Margaret Dean Cahill of Florida; a brother, Dennis Cahill of Nevada; and three sisters, Carol Cahill and Joan Courson, both of Florida, and Nancy Frazier of Virginia. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements. Helen M. Conley
Mrs. Conley, 83, of Red Bank, died March 5 at home following a battle with cancer. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Conley was a communicant of the Church of the Nativity, Fair Haven, and a member of the church's Nifty Fifties Club. She was also a member of the St. Alfonso Auxiliary. She was named "Mother of the Year" in 1956 in Fort Knox, Ky., following the birth of her triplets. Mrs. Conley was predeceased by her husband, George E. Conley Sr., in 1985; a son, Peter G. Conley, in 2005; and a sister, Ruth Lawlor. She is survived by a sister, Catherine O'Brien of Anderson, S.C.; five sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas G. Conley and Lorretta Anderson of Fair Haven, John P. and Jenny Conley, and George E. Jr. and Judith Conley, all of Kauai, Hawaii, and Richard and Judith Conley and Joseph M. and Kim Conley, all of Fair Haven; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Kathleen A. and John Lacey of Marathon, Fla., Mary E. Jangaard of Venice, Fla., Maureen and Jim Hourihan of Sea Bright, and Colleen and Bill Hourihan of Neptune; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held March 9, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., at the Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated March 10 at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Nativity.
Barnetta Benoist Higginson Keuper
Mrs. Keuper, 101, of Tinton Falls, died March 5 in Tinton Falls. Born in New York City, she resided in Asbury Park, and the West End section of Long Branch, prior to moving to Tinton Falls seven years ago. She was the former owner, with her first husband, and president of Standard Roofing Inc., Tinton Falls, for 50 years. She was involved in several local charities, such as Family and Children's Service, Long Branch; Monmouth County Chapter of the American Cancer Society, and Affiliated Guilds of St. James Episcopal Church, Long Branch. She was a musician several years ago, and played the debut of Jascha Heifetz. She was predeceased by her first husband, and former Eatontown mayor, Robert H. Higginson; her second husband, Vincent P. Keuper; a son, Robert Higginson; and a sister, Louise Phillips. She is survived by two stepsons, Richard and his wife, Joanne Keuper of Temple, N.H., and Joseph Keuper of Fort Lauderdale; a brother, Albert Spalding and his wife, Joan Benoist of Monmouth Beach; a grandson; three step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. Arrangements were by Braun Funeral Home, Eatontown.
Eleanor M. Ur
Mrs. Ur, 93, of Lakewood, died March 8 at Leisure Park Health Center, Lakewood. She was affectionately known as "Aunt Ellie" to her loved ones. Born in Cumberland, Md., she had resided in Washington, D.C., for most of her life, where she had worked as a sales consultant in the crystal and fine china department of a major department store. She had lived in Red Bank before moving to Lakewood 11 years ago. Mrs. Ur was predeceased in 1989 by her husband, John. Surviving are two sisters-in-law, Rose J. DeBartol of Manalapan and Margaret Jensen of the Carteret section of Woodbridge; five nieces; three great-nephews; two great-nieces; and three great-great-nieces. A funeral service was held at Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold. Interment

Sarah Power Johnson
Mrs. Johnson, 84, of Red Bank, died March 9 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Marlboro, she had been a resident of Red Bank for nearly 80 years. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, where she was a member of its senior citizens group. She was also a member of the Red Bank Senior Center Book Club. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Edward "Bud" Johnson; a sister, Helen Power Davis; and a grandson, Tyler Johnson. Mrs. Johnson is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ned Johnson, and Stephen and Kathleen Johnson; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Barbara Twigg, Suzanne Colville, Sally and Andrew Vogt, and Lee and Daryl Tefteller; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Resurrection was celebrated at St. James Church, followed by interment at St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Marlboro. The Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank, was in charge of arrangements.
