BRIGIDA TORRE, 91, of Old Bridge died Dec. 25 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had resided in Cedar Glenn Lakes, Whiting, before moving to Old Bridge in 1999. She was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, James Peter Torre, in 1990; and three brothers, Joseph LoSecco, Anthony LoSecco and John LoSecco. She is survived by two daughters, Marie Michaels of Aberdeen and Jo-Ann Erhardt of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; two sons, Michael Torre of Phoenix, Ariz., and Vincent Torre of Howell; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Clement’s Roman Catholic Church, Matawan. Interment
was at Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery, Flushing, N.Y.
HELEN ANGERSBACH JENSEN, 88, of East Brunswick died Jan. 25 in Care One Center, East Brunswick. Surviving are her husband, Oscar Jensen; a son, Harold Jensen of Connecticut; a brother, Raymond Angersbach of Keyport; a sister, Florence Kunz of Sayreville; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment
was in Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River.
GERTRUDE M. HAYDEN BOWIE, 80, of the Melrose section of Sayreville died Jan. 25 in Holmdel Convalescent Center. Her husband, Ennis Bowie, died in 1980. Surviving are three daughters, Kathleen Crowley of Manalapan, Eugenia Kellett of Sayreville and Jane Bowie of Melrose; two brothers, James Hayden of Brick and Ronald Hayden of Middletown; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. was in New Calvary Cemetery, Sayreville.
CHARLINE J. HEMHAUSER, 73, of Red Bank died Feb. 20 at Avanti, Red Bank. Born in Newark, she resided in Hazlet for 20 years prior to moving to Red Bank two years ago. She was a communicant of St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, North Middletown. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America at St. Ann’s Church, Keansburg. She was predeceased by a son, Daniel Hemhauser in 2001; and a granddaughter, Lynn Hardin in 1985. She is survived by her daughter, Bernadette Widmaier of the Belford section of Middletown; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Thomas and Ellen Hemhauser of Tinton Falls, Michael and Lorraine Hemhauser of Middletown, and Joseph Hemhauser of Hazlet; her sister, Lorene Denney of West Orange; and eight grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, North Middletown. Burial was at Bay View Cemetery, Leonardo section of Middletown.
LILLIAN M. SAVAGE KOSYK, 83, of Middletown died Feb. 16 at home. She was born in Red Bank, and graduated from Red Bank High School. She was a salesperson and manager at Flora’s Dress Shop, Red Bank, for 26 years. Prior to that, she was a secretary, then manager at Continental Car Dealer, Red Bank. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She was a volunteer at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, and vice president of the Shadow Lake Riverview Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Red Bank Woman’s Club. She was predeceased by her husband, Mike Kosyk in 1988. She is survived by her son, Frank J. CATHERINE T. FLYNN, 88, of the Cliffwood section of Aberdeen, died Feb. 2 at Bayshore Health Center, Holmdel. Born in New York City, she was a lifelong resident of Cliffwood. She was employed at MetLife, New York City, and was a clerk at J.J. Newberry’s, Keyport, retiring in 1973. She was a member of St. Clement’s Roman Catholic Church, Matawan. She was an organizer of the Cliffwood Elementary School PTA in 1945. She was predeceased by a son-in-law, William A. Davis, in 1993; her sister, Marion Coyle, in 1984; her brother, Richard Tarrant, in 1976; and her husband, Edward J. Flynn Sr., in 1983. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Davis of Cliffwood; three sons and daughters-in-law, Edward J. and Carol Flynn Jr. of Princeton Junction, Thomas J. and Sheri Flynn of Ewing, and Robert J. Flynn and Alicia Kapheim of Pennington; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Clement’s Roman Catholic Church, Matawan. ADELE GARGIULO, 94, of Hazlet died March 8 at Avanti at Red Bank. Born in Naples, Italy, she moved to the United States in 1912 and resided in New York City before moving to Hazlet in 1961. Mrs. Gargiulo was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg. She was predeceased by her husband, Louis Gargiulo, in 1986. She is survived by her son, Alfonse Gargiulo of New York City; her daughter and son-in-law, Fanny and Edward Johnson of Matawan; two sisters, Rosemarie Bosley of Lutz, Fla., and Rose Centano of Long Island, N.Y.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. A funeral gathering will be held March 12 at 8:15 a.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:30 a.m. at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg. ANNA C. PETRILLO, 86, of Tuckerton died March 8. Born in Newark, she resided in Middletown for 30 years before moving to Tuckerton three years ago. Mrs. Petrillo was a retired security guard for Wackenhut Industries and AT&T, Lincroft section of Middletown. Prior to that, she was a payroll administrator at Two Guys department store, Middletown, for 15 years, retiring in 1983. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Mrs. Petrillo is survived by two daughters, Millicent Guzzi of Long Branch and Barbara Lorch of Tuckerton; two brothers, Jules Caprio of Florida and Michael Caprio of Red Bank; three sisters, Jay Grassgreen and Gloria Ruglio, both of north Jersey, and Thelma Spatola of the Leonardo section of Middletown; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. ANTHONY S. SICA, 92, of Middletown died March 8 at Green Acres Manor, Toms River. Born in San Arsceno, Italy, he resided in Belleville for 50 years before moving to Middletown 23 years ago. Mr. Sica was a warehouseman at General Motors, Bloomfield, for 23 years, retiring in 1955. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen Sica, in 1994. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Sebastian and Angela Sica of Ocean; his daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Orlando Graziano of Lakewood; his brother, Sam Sica of Belleville; four sisters, Rose Zirricco of Indianapolis, Ange Squitieri of Middletown, Rita Squitieri of Florida, and Mary Esposito of Manchester; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. MARIE T. RAIMONDI, 65, of Hazlet died March 3 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in New York City, she resided in New York before moving to Hazlet 37 years ago. Mrs. Raimondi was an inspector at Anchor Glass, Aberdeen, for 23 years, retiring in 1996. She was a communicant of St. Benedict’s Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Edward Sanders of Florida, and Laura and Patrick O’Hara of Hazlet; two sons and one daughter-in-law, John and Kristina Raimondi of Hazlet, and Michael Raimondi of South Amboy; her sister, Joan Salek of California; and five grandchildren.
