EDWARD W. HENNESSEY, 86, of Little Silver died Aug. 30 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Meriden, Conn., he resided in Little Silver the past 49 years. Mr. Hennessey was a retired senior methods engineer at Bendix Corp., Eatontown. He served with the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, where he was a former member of the Holy Name Society. He was a charter member of the Eatontown Elks, and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Red Bank Council. He was also a member of the Society of Mechanical Engineers. He enjoyed time with his family, football, cards, and bowling. He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Dorothy J. Dippel Hennessey, in 2000; a brother, Joseph Hennessey; and a son, John M. Hennessey, in 2000. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Denise Hennessey of Middletown; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Michael Dunfee of Kinsman, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Maura Hennessey of Tinton Falls; two brothers, Frank Hennessey of Palm City, Fla., and John Hennessey of Jupiter, Fla.; and eight grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Interment
was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
ANN M. STINSON, 65, of Sea Bright died Aug. 27 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Lynn, Mass., she resided in Red Bank for 10 years before moving to Sea Bright 10 years ago. Mrs. Stinson was a registered nurse at Riverview Medical Center the past 12 years. She was a communicant of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Rumson, where she was a member of the Altar Guild. She was a member of the Retired Officers Club Auxiliary, and the Nine Hole Ladies Golf Club, both Fort Monmouth. Mrs. Stinson is survived by her husband, George W. Stinson; two sons, George W. Stinson of New York City and William C. Stinson of Spokane, Wash.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and David Hunt of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Margaret and George Wolf of Jersey City; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Lois Casey of Whitensville, Mass.; and one granddaughter. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Holy Cross Church. Interment

PHILIP P. MURPHY SR., 80, of Oceanport, died Aug. 1 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., he resided in Staten Island, N.Y., and other locations worldwide while in the U.S. Navy, before retiring in Oceanport. He was a 22-year career chief of the U.S. Navy, and managed the Enlisted Men’s Club and Officers’ Club at Fort Monmouth before retiring. Prior to that, he managed the Chief’s Club at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station and Test Center, Lexington Park, Md., prior to retirement. Enlisting in 1941, he was decorated for service in the Pacific Theatre, American Theatre and the Victory of World War II. He and his brother Edmund J. Murphy also owned and managed the Towne House of Bullshead, Staten Island, during the early ‘60s. He served as a district election board member and ballot collector in Oceanport. His memberships included the Navy League, Fleet Reserve, American Legion, and the U.S. Navy Institute. He was predeceased by two brothers, James and Edmund J. Murphy; and his sister, Ellen. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rose D. Murphy of Oceanport; three sons, Dr. James S. Murphy, Mike Murphy and Philip P. Murphy Jr.; two brothers, Charles M. and John Murphy of Staten Island, N.Y.; and six grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Interment
was at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport.
ALFRED D. CIAMPOLI, 79, of Red Bank, died Aug. 11 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Red Bank for several years. He was a bakery driver at Baldanza’s Bakery, Long Branch, for more than 50 years. He was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. He was a member of Local No. 194, Union. He was predeceased by a daughter, Rose Ciampoli, and two brothers, John and Anthony Ciampoli. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ruby E. Bradley Ciampoli of Red Bank; two sons, Alfred D. Ciampoli and Joseph M. Ciampoli, both Red Bank; two daughters, Barbara Lopez of Highlands, and Peggy Schultz of Jackson; two brothers, Gerald Ciampoli of Red Bank, and Harold Ciampoli of Jersey City; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. ROSE M. GARCIA DI GUGLIELMO, 88, of Weeki Wachee, Fla., and formerly Long Branch, died Aug. 9 at Forest Oaks Assisted Living Center, Spring Hill, Fla. Born in Red Bank, she resided in Eatontown and Long Branch prior to moving to Weeki Wachee seven years ago. She was a retired seamstress with the International Ladies Garment Workers Union Local 105. She was predeceased by her first husband, Joseph Garcia; and her second husband, Joseph Di Guglielmo. She is survived by her step-children, Nicholas Di Guglielmo of Weeki Wachee, Fla., and Frances Raczeck of Tinton Falls; four grandchildren; and one niece and nephew. Interment

BARBARA J. DOLAN PRESCOTT, 54, of the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge died Aug. 6 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Long Branch, she was a lifelong resident of Laurence Harbor. She was a picker and packer at L’Oreal, Dayton section of South Brunswick. She was predeceased by her mother, Eleanor Rogers Dolan in 1995. She is survived by her father, Raymond Dolan of Hazlet; her husband, Edward W. Prescott Sr. of Laurence Harbor; her son, Edward W. Prescott Jr.; her sister, Eleanor Dolan of the West Keansburg section of Hazlet; her brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Eileen Dolan Jr. of Howell; two grandchildren; and three nieces.
HAROLD J. HAYTKO, 61, of Sayreville, died Aug. 6 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Bayonne prior to moving to Sayreville 26 years ago. He was an auto mechanic at Eastern Airlines, Newark, for 24 years, retiring in 1996. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1959-63. He was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, South Amboy. He is survived by his wife, Mary DiStaso Haytko of Sayreville; his son and daughter-in-law, Joseph M. and Sharon Haytko of Newfoundland, Pa.; his daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Jean and Louis Olcsvay of Milltown; his brother, William Haytko of Long Branch; two sisters, Annamae Crawford of Long Branch, and Beatrice Hynson of Charlotte, N.C.; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. NELLIE NICOLETTI MADURE, 98, of Toms River died June 30 at home. Born in Clarksburg, W. Va., she resided in Red Bank prior to moving to Toms River five years ago. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, where she was a past member and treasurer of its St. Ann’s Society. She was a member of the St. James Senior Club, Red Bank, and Red Bank Fire Department Auxiliary. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Madure, in 1977; four brothers, Frank, Patrick, Charles and Richard Nicoletti; and a sister, Vera Lista. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Judith Madure of Bradenton, Fla.; a daughter and son-in-law, Bette and Joseph Salmon of Toms River; three sisters-in-law, Genevieve, Lily and Anna Nicoletti; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. ADELINE M. MAZZA, 86, of Red Bank died July 4 at home. Born in Red Bank, she was a lifelong resident. Ms. Mazza was an executive secretary to the chief scientist at the U.S. Department of the Army’s Hexagon facility, Fort Monmouth, retiring in 1970. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, and a member of the church’s Children of Mary Sodality. She was a member of the Red Bank Women’s Business and Professional Club, and volunteered at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Ms. Mazza was predeceased by her brothers, Frank J. Mazza and Clement D. Mazza. She is survived by two sisters, Philomena T. Caruso of Red Bank and Margaret M. Pallone of Little Silver; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. THOMAS FALBO, 90, of Middletown died July 2 at Regency Park Nursing Center, Hazlet. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he lived in Monmouth Beach and Long Island, N.Y., before moving to Shadow Lake Village eight years ago. Mr. Falbo was the former owner of Associated Foods, Rockville Center, N.Y. He was a communicant of St. Dorothea’s Roman Catholic Church, Eatontown. He served with the U.S. Marines during World War II. His hobbies included dancing and traveling to Florida and Atlantic City. He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary. He is survived by his wife, Marion Falbo; a stepson and his wife, George and Nancy Madison; two stepdaughters and their husbands, Karen and Philip Apruzzi, and Marilyn and Richie Di Antonio, all of Oceanport; a brother, Joseph Falbo; a sister, Amy Marascio of Fair Haven; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
