Estelle B. Orkwis
Mrs. Orkwis, 89, of Red Bank, died Nov. 21, 2006, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She was a member of Jehovah's Witness, Fair Haven. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley V. Orkwis Sr. in 1988. She is survived by a son, Stanley Orkwis Jr. of Toms River; two daughters, Linda Borghi of Red Bank, and Julie Marques of Lakewood; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Arrangements were by Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank.
Anna C. Ploplis
Mrs. Ploplis of Red Bank died Nov. 25, 2006, at home. Born in Minersville, Pa., she relocated to Red Bank in 1952. She was a baker at St. James School, Red Bank, for several years. She was a parishioner at and member of the Altar Rosary Society at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She was named Catholic Mother of the Year in 1953 by the Diocese of Philadelphia. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Group of Red Bank. She enjoyed cooking. She was predeceased by her husband, Victor; a son, John; and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Jean of Dayton, Ohio; Edward and Norma of Barberton Ohio; Vincent and Peggy of Pompano Beach, Fla.; and Frank and Bertie of Allentown, Pa.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Nancy Veselka of Angleton, Texas, Barbara and Peter Carton of the Locust section of Middletown, and Victoria and George Briersack of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; a sister, Sophia Kapsha of Schuylkill Haven, Pa.; 23 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. will be celebrated Nov. 30 at 9 a.m. at St. James Church. Interment

Robert B. Cushman
Mr. Cushman, 89, of Hazlet, died Nov. 16, 2006, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Acushnet, Mass., he resided in Tinton Falls, Brick and Middletown prior to moving to Hazlet seven years ago. He served with the U.S. Army for 30 years during World War II and Korean War, and retired with the rank of lieutenant colonel. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8867, Bricktown. He was predeceased by his wife, Edna in 1988. He is survived by a son, Robert Cushman of Hazlet; a daughter, Elizabeth Cushman of Toms River; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Interment
will be Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. at Arlington (Va.) National Cemetery. Arrangements are by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
Stella M. Dziedzic
Mrs. Dziedzic, 80, of Brick, died Oct. 29, 2006, at Brick Hospital. Born in West Rutland, Vt., she resided in Oceanport prior to moving to Brick more than 16 years ago. She was a retired cafeteria worker for Oceanport Board of Education where she was employed 15 years. She was a member and past president of Oceanport Ladies Auxiliary for 25 years. She was predeceased by a son, Bernard P. Dziedzic; and a grandson, Christopher E. Dziedzic. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Benjamin B. Dziedzic; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Ron Colangelo of Wall; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Dziedzic; a brother, Alexander W. of Rutland, Vt.; three sisters, Agnes Dziubek and Judy Warzecho, both of Bristol, Conn., and Theresa Shelaski of West Rutland, Vt.; and three grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Dorothea's Roman Catholic Church, Eatontown. Interment

Sharon Marie Stafford
Mrs. Stafford, 58, of Little Silver died Nov. 4, 2006, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in New York, she resided in Red Bank prior to moving to Little Silver in 1998. She was a medical claims agent at Horizon Blue Cross-Blue Shield of New Jersey, Neptune. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. She was predeceased by her parents, Bertha and Thomas Martini. She is survived by her partner, Ben Gabriele; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Louis T. and Barbara Martini of Buhl, Idaho, and Thomas J. Martini of Brick; a sister, Linda J. Martini of Seattle; and one niece and one nephew. A Memorial Mass was celebrated at St. Anthony's Church. Interment

Raymond Bennett
Mr. Bennett, 82, of Tinton Falls, died Nov. 5, 2006, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was a retired employee of Schering-Plough Corp., Union. He is survived by his wife, Dorothea. Arrangements were by Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold.
Winifred A. Cammarota
Mrs. Cammarota, 88, of the Lincroft section of Middletown, died Nov. 5, 2006, at Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation, Red Bank. Born in England, she resided in Lincroft the past 12 years. She was superintendent at the Jewish Theological Seminary, New York City, for 20 years, retiring in 1983. She was a communicant of St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church, Lincroft. She was predeceased by her husband, Clement G. Cammarota, and a son, Joseph Leo Cammarota, both in 1995; and a sister, Beatrice Graziano. She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Rosemarie and William Mudge of Red Bank, and Deborah Marie Bonds of Memphis, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Giella, 78, of Spring Lake Heights died Nov. 6, 2006, at Gateway Care Center, Eatontown. Born in Queens, N.Y., she resided in Tinton Falls and Spring Lake Heights. She was a retired legal secretary for several law firms. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Michael J. Giella in 2004. Helen S. Elkins
Mrs. Elkins, 91, died Oct. 27, 2006, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Long Branch, she resided in Fair Haven for 52 years. Mrs. Elkins was employed in retail sales at Vogel's Department Store, Red Bank, for 20 years. She was a communicant of Church of the Nativity, Fair Haven, and a member of the church's Nifty 50s Club. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred Elkins, in 1979; and three brothers, John, Charles and Alex. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Isaac Leventhal Sr. of the Belford section of Middletown; a daughter, Joan Elkins of Brick; a sister, Elizabeth Bacigalupi of Brick; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. James Conklin
Mr. Conklin, 78, of Middletown, died Oct. 28, 2006, at home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he resided there before moving to Middletown seven years ago. He was a retired motion picture laboratory technician. Prior to that, Mr. Conklin was on the New York City Fire Patrol. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 338, Leonardo section of Middletown. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Conklin, in 1995. He is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, James and Helen F. Conklin of Brooklyn, N.Y., John J. Conklin of New York City, and Kevin B. and Ellen Conklin of Staten Island, N.Y.; a daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Kevin Shaughnessy of Middletown; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Jean Conklin of Flanders, N.Y.; a sister, Marie Minogue of Colorado; and six grandchildren. Richard C. Bertodatti
Mr. Richard "Dick" Bertodatti Sr., 65, of Colts Neck, died Oct. 26, 2006, at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, Newark. He worked as a sales representative for Allied Building Supplies, Bound Brook. Mr. Bertodatti graduated from Power Memorial High School, New York City, and attended St. John's University, Queens, N.Y., where he was All-American and was signed by the Minnesota Twins baseball club. He enjoyed thoroughbred racing and bred and raced horses from his home, Foxmoor Farm. He enjoyed winner's circle successes at Belmont, Aqueduct and Monmouth Park. Mr. Bertodatti was a communicant at St. Mary's Church, Colts Neck. He was preceded by his father, Dominick Bertodatti, and a grandson. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Maureen E. Shaw Bertodatti; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard Jr. and Marissa of Fair Haven; three daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Matthew Jensen of Long Branch, Jill and Kevin Condon of Colts Neck, Jodi and Gregory Foster of Point Pleasant Beach; 10 grandchildren; and his mother, Maria Bertodatti of Toms River.
