Leslie P. Niedermeier
Mr. Niedermeier, 72, of Spotswood, formerly of Old Bridge, died Oct. 12 in Cranbury Care Center, Monroe. Prior to his retirement in 1996, he was a custodian for Appleby School, Spotswood, where he worked for 15 years. Before that, he owned Irene’s Deli, Spotswood, for 10 years. Surviving are his wife, Irene Schneider Niedermeier; three sons, Alan Niedermeier and Craig Niedermeier, both of Spotswood, and Glen Niedermeier of West Virginia; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Lung Association or the American Diabetes Association.
Walter J. Zaleski
Mr. Zaleski, 81, of Sayreville died Oct. 10 at home. Prior to his retirement in 1981, he was employed as a chemical operator for Hercules Inc., Parlin section of Sayreville, where he worked for 42 years. Surviving are his wife, Eleanor Brzozowski Zaleski; five sons, Leonard and Ronald, both of Sayreville, John of Annapolis, Md., Lawrence of Point Pleasant and Kenneth of Tinton Falls; two daughters, Christine Rodriguez of Walden, N.Y., and Ann DeLuca of Burlington Township; a sister, Mary Przygoda of South River; and 14 grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Sayreville. Interment

Hazel Meggison Gallagher
Mrs. Gallagher, 101, of Hazlet, formerly of South Amboy and Sayreville, died Oct. 10 in Regency Park Nursing Center, Hazlet. Her husband, Charles Gallagher, died in 1976. Surviving are five nieces, including Margaret Madger and Dorothy Ward of Spotswood, Norene Cahill of Old Bridge and Anne Jankowski of South Amboy; two nephews, including Albert Meggison of Keyport; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. A funeral service was held at Trinity United Methodist Church, South Amboy. Interment

Harriet Goldberg Schoengold
Mrs. Schoengold, 82, of Monroe died Oct. 10 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are her husband, Sidney; a son, Stuart of Suffern, N.Y.; a daughter, Patti Steiner of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; a brother, Louis Goldberg of Great Neck, N.Y.; and five grandchildren. Graveside services were held at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge.
Rosemary Chimera Loeffler
Mrs. Loeffler, 61, of Eatontown died Sept. 25 at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Long Branch, following a battle with cancer. She was born in the Bronx, N.Y. Mrs. Loeffler was a homemaker. Prior to that, she taught fourth grade for seven years at St. Jerome School, West Long Branch, where she was a past vice president of the PTA. She was a communicant of St. Jerome’s Roman Catholic Church, where she was treasurer of the Rosary Altar Society. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Richard W. Loeffler; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Richard F. and Laura Loeffler of Old Bridge, and Christopher J. Loeffler of New York City; and two daughters and one son-in-law, Suzanne M. Loeffler of Hoboken, and Josette M. and Edward Recchia of West Long Branch. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Jerome’s Church. Interment
was at Woodbine Cemetery

Vilmar E. Costa
Mr. Costa, 19, died Sept. 27 as the result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. A 2002 graduate of South River High School, he was a student at DeVry University, North Brunswick. He was employed for the past three years at International House of Pancakes (IHOP), Marlboro, and prior to that, he worked at IHOP, East Brunswick. Surviving are his parents, Vilmar and Shirley Lopez Costa, with whom he lived; two sisters, Maria Costa and Brenda Costa, both of South River; a nephew, Christopher Costa of South River; his maternal grandparents, Eduardo and Nelly Magas of the Toms River section of Dover; his paternal grandmother, Maria Costa, in South America; an uncle, Eduardo Lopez of Forest Hills, Md.; and an aunt, Imara Lopez of South River. A Mass was offered at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, South River. Cremation was private.William J. Anderson Jr.
Mr. Anderson, 36, of the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge died Sept. 28 in Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, N.Y., as the result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. His mother, Dolores E. Anderson, died 1999. Surviving are his father, William J. Anderson Sr. of Laurence Harbor; two sisters, Alicia Tomaszewski of the Parlin section of Sayreville and Denise Imundo of Spotswood; and three nieces. A Mass is planned for 11 a.m. on Oct. 2 at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment

Raymond S. Cislo
Mr. Cislo, 73, of East Brunswick, formerly of the Morgan section of Sayreville, died Sept. 27 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He worked as a bartender for many years at Hill Lanes, Old Bridge. Surviving are a son, Michael Cislo of South Amboy; three daughters, Theresa Ciciora of Atlantic Beach, Fla., Kim Marie Cislo of South Amboy and Jennifer Cislo of Morgan; his companion, Terri Staggard of East Brunswick; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Lawrence Church, Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge. Memorial contributions may be made to Deborah Heart and Lung Center.
Joseph E. Patton
Mr. Patton, 72, of Old Bridge died Sept. 29 in Care One, East Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Antoinette Patton; two sons, Joseph Patton of Freehold and Michael Treeon of Ohio; two daughters, Marie Stump of West Virginia and Theresa Crenshaw of Plainsboro; four brothers, Larry of Pennsylvania, Eugene of Tresckow, Pa., and Robert and Charles, both of Warminster, Pa.; five granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Entombment was in Holy Cross Mausoleum, South Brunswick.
Samuel Naar, Ph.D.
Dr. Naar, 80, of Monroe died Sept. 23 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was retired from the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District, where he had served as an elementary school principal for many years, first at John F. Kennedy School, Raritan, and later at Finderne School, Finderne section of Bridgewater. Surviving are his wife, Marion Naar; two daughters, Susan Gould of Plainsboro and Iris Grossman of Monroe; a sister, Anna Naar of Highland Park; and three grandchildren. Services were held at Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Interment
