Patrick M. Coffey
Mr. Coffey, 51, of Farmingdale died Dec. 4 at home. Born in Perth Amboy, he had moved to Farmingdale in 1965. Before becoming disabled in 2002, for 10 years he was an operating engineer. He was also a member of the Operating Engineers Local 825. He was predeceased by his father, Frank, in 1987. Surviving are a daughter, Theresa Parker of Belmar; his mother, Estelle Coffey of Farmingdale; four brothers, Kevin Coffey of Millstone, Sean Coffey of Spring Lake, Christopher Coffey of Farmingdale and James Coffey of Freehold; two sisters, Mary Frances Coffey of Ewing and Marytheresa Littlefield of Millstone. A funeral service was held at the C.H.T. Clayton & Son Funeral Home, Adelphia section of Howell, with the Rev. Michael Vona officiating. Interment
followed at Evergreen Cemetery, Farmingdale.
Alfonse S. Parzel
Mr. Parzel, 75, of Franklin Park died Dec. 13 at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Jersey City, he had lived there before moving to Franklin Park seven years ago. He was predeceased by two sons, Robert Parzel in 1986 and Allen Parzel in 1983. Surviving are his wife, Doris Martell Parzel; three sons, Joseph Parzel of Freehold, and Michael and Francis Parzel, both of Franklin Park; three daughters, Barbara Caprara of Hopatcong, and Joan and Margaret Parzel, both of Franklin Park; and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick, followed by a traditional Latin requiem Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, West Orange. Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
Joseph Dennery
Mr. Dennery, 73, of Freehold Township died Dec. 2 at home. Born in Jersey City, he had lived there most of his life before moving to Freehold Township. He served in the U.S. Army in 1951 and worked as a bus driver for NJ Transit, before retiring in 1991. He is survived by two sons, Joseph Dennery of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and Frank Dennery of Freehold Township, with whom he lived; three grandchildren; and two great-grandsons. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church, Marlboro, followed by entombment at Forest Green Park Mausoleum, Morganville section of Marlboro. Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.
Sharon L. Storey
Miss Storey, 24, of Freehold died Dec. 4 in Doylestown, Pa. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had lived there before moving to Freehold in 1983. A 1997 graduate of Freehold Township High School, she graduated with honors from Temple University, Philadelphia, in Jan. 2002. During her sophomore year of college, she studied abroad for six months in Switzerland. She was a property manager for Heritage Builders in Bucks County, Pa., for two years. She was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, Sherlock Storey, in 1999 and her maternal grandfather, Rupert Cheong, in 1975. Surviving are her parents, Jacqueline and Nigel Storey of Freehold; a brother, Nigel Storey, also of Freehold; her paternal grandmother, Phyllis Storey of Queens, N.Y.; her maternal grandmother, Erna Persaud of Freehold; and her boyfriend, Christopher Sturges of Bucks County, Pa. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Farmingdale, with the Rev. Michael Vona officiating. Entombment followed at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township.
Helen Lustig
Mrs. Lustig, 88, of Jackson, died Dec. 5 at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. Born in New York City, she had lived in the Bronx, N.Y., Suffern, N.Y., and Covered Bridge, Manalapan, for 17 years before moving to Jackson three months ago. She was a retired librarian with the Spring Valley, N.Y., school system. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert, in 1974. Surviving are two daughters, Renee Ruditz of Marlboro and Sandra Levine of Jackson; a son, Denis Lustig of Monroe; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Services were arranged by Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Manalapan.
Stella S. Macaluso
Mrs. Macaluso, 85, of Manalapan died Dec. 11 at St. Patrick’s Home, Bronx, N.Y. Before moving to Manalapan in 1951, Mrs. Macaluso had resided in Brooklyn, N.Y. Born in Madison, Ill., she was raised in Oklahoma, where she graduated from Bartlesville High School. After graduating from Oklahoma School of Business, Tulsa, she worked as a secretary for the U.S. Treasury Department in Washington, D.C., during World War II. Prior to retiring in 1981, she was employed in the Manalapan tax assessor’s office. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church, Englishtown; a member of the Manalapan-Englishtown Senior Club, Chapter 1, where for more than 10 years she served as secretary and for four years she served as treasurer; a member of the St. Thomas More Leisure Club, Manalapan; Manalapan Senior Center; and Applewood Estates Senior Center, Freehold Township. She was predeceased in 1990 by her husband, Santo Macaluso. Surviving are a son, Paul Macaluso of Bridgeton, N.Y.; a daughter and son-in-law, Marie L. and Kenneth L. Strnad of Westchester, N.Y.; a sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and Anthony R. Bauer of Bartlesville; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Church, followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements. Ralph Murrill
Mr. Murrill, of the Morganville section of Marlboro, died Dec. 2 at home. Born in South Carolina, he had lived in East Orange before moving to Morganville 36 years ago. A Coast Guard veteran of World War II, he was a senior manager for Bell Laboratories, Holmdel, before retiring in 1988 and a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Surviving are his wife, Trudy Murrill; a son and daughter-in-law, Ralph K. and Regina Murrill of Bensalem, Pa.; a daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Manny Quiles of Princeton Junction; and two granddaughters. Funeral services were held at Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, followed by burial at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown.
Alfred P. Young
Mr. Young, 57, of South River, formerly of Old Bridge, died Nov. 16 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his mother, Sarah E. Dill Young of Jackson; a sister, Sarah E. Berendt of Manalapan; several nieces and nephews; and his companion, Arlene McGuire. Graveside services were held at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan.
Grace F. Clemente
Mrs. Clemente, 87, of South Windsor, Conn., formerly of Toms River, died Nov. 30 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was a dressmaker for various shops in Brooklyn until retiring at age 56. She was also a member of Brooklyn’s International Ladies’ Garment Workers’ Union. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry "Rosario" Clemente, in 2001. Surviving are three daughters, Catherine Costa of South Windsor, Annette Attanasio of Staten Island, N.Y., and Christine Infuso of Freehold Township; a sister, Katherine Ischia of Brooklyn; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church, Freehold Township, followed by interment at St. John’s Cemetery
