Paul E. Herrick

Mr. Herrick, 69, of Manalapan died Nov. 6 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in New Brunswick, he resided in Sayreville for 30 years and Parlin for 10 years before moving to Manalapan four years ago. Prior to his retirement in 1998, he was employed as a supervisor with the New Jersey Turnpike in New Brunswick, where he worked for 27 years. He was a former communicant of Saint Stanislaus Kostka Roman Catholic Church, Sayreville. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Marcinczyk Herrick; five sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Patti Herrick of Jackson, Steve and Jennifer Herrick of Parlin, and David and Doreen Herrick, Chris and April Herrick, and Paul Jr. and Denise Herrick, all of Sayreville; a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Harry Wille of Parlin; a sister, Donna Mulvaney of Atlantic City; and 15 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville, followed by burial at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, also in Sayreville.

Amanda Faith Reo

Amanda Faith Reo, 17, of Howell died Oct. 29 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Princeton, she resided in Howell most of her life and was a senior at Howell High School. She loved nature, music, fashion and children. Surviving are her parents, Pamela and Brandon Reo; a brother, Scott; her maternal grandparents, Joan and Henry Franklin of Whiting; and her paternal grandmother, Helga Reo of San Francisco. Funeral services were held at Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, Toms River. Cremation was private. Memorial donations may be made to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Foundation, 8 Easton Ave., New Brunswick 08901; or to Prevention First, 1806 Highway 35, Oakhurst 07755.

Missie Anice Howard

Mrs. Howard, 70, of Freehold died Nov. 3 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Hardaway, Ala., she lived in Farmingdale before moving to Freehold 38 years ago. For 18 years she was an income maintenance technician for the Monmouth County Board of Social Services before retiring 15 years ago. She was a member of Old Ship of Zion Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star, Elizabeth Chapter No. 20, both located in Englishtown. She was predeceased by her husband, Lester L. Howard, in 1978. Surviving are three sons, Arnold Hill Sr. of Farmingdale, and Lester L. and Eddie L. Howard, both of Freehold; a daughter, Geraldine Howard Conyers of Freehold; seven brothers, Curtis Hill and Carl Hill Sr., both of Freehold, Charlie Hill Jr. of Farmingdale, Douglas Hill and Larry Hill Sr., both of Neptune, Jack Hill of Lakewood and Perry Hill of the Dayton section of South Brunswick; four sisters, Thelma Ellington and Ruby Colbert, both of Freehold, Loretta Hayes of Jackson and Sarah Johnson of Newark; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Old Ship of Zion Baptist Church, followed by entombment at Holmdel Mausoleum. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.

Walter R. Dill

Mr. Dill, 74, of Freehold died Oct. 27 at home. Born in Goshen, N.Y., he resided in Freehold for 64 years. Mr. Dill was president of Dill’s Raceway Equipment Inc., Freehold, for 30 years before retiring eight years ago. He was predeceased by a daughter, Mary; two brothers, John and Charles "Pete" Dill; and a great grandson, Nathan. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Lucille Reynolds Dill; seven sons and daughters-in-law, Walter Jr. and Susan Dill, South Pasadena, Fla.; Philip and Lee Dill, Madeira Beach, Fla.; Charles and Patti Dill, and Thomas and Renee Dill, all of Freehold; Christopher and Denise Dill, Swedesboro; David and Carolyn Dill, Lincroft; and Jeffrey and Patricia Dill, Hightstown; a brother, Fred Dill, Carmel, N.Y.; a sister, Mary Crawford, Freehold; 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, followed by a liturgy at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold. Interment was at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. Donations can be made to the VNA of Central New Jersey, 141 Bodman Place, Red Bank 07701.

John O. Bennett Jr.

Mr. Bennett, 78, of Freehold died Oct. 30 at Reformed Church Home, Old Bridge. Born in New Brunswick, he lived in Marlboro for many years before moving to Freehold 19 years ago. Mr. Bennett served in the U. S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was an automobile dealer for Bennett’s Garage, Marlboro from 1945 until his retirement in 1986. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Florence Campbell Bennett; two sons and daughters-in-law, Senator John O. Bennett III and his wife, Margaret, Little Silver; Bruce W. Bennett Sr., and his wife, Donna, Colts Neck; and six grandchildren. Arrangements were made by the Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold and funeral services were held at the Old Brick Reformed Church, Marlboro. Memorial donations can be made to the Old Brick Reformed Church Memorial Fund, Box 153, Marlboro, 07746.

Russell L. Heulitt Sr.

Mr. Heulitt, 67, of Howell died Nov. 5 at the home of his fiancée after a lengthy illness. Born in Trenton, he lived in Howell for many years. He had attended Freehold High School and was a member of the Atlantic Grange in Colts Neck. He worked for Braniff Airways, was a mechanic for Mercedes-Benz in Freehold, and for more than 30 years owned and operated Two R’s Cycle Shop in Freehold. He was a mechanic at Naval Weapons Station Earle, Colts Neck, retiring almost two years ago. During the Berlin crisis, Mr. Heulitt served in the U.S. Air National Guard and the U.S. Air Force Reserve. He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth J., in 1999. Surviving are four sons and daughters-in-law, Russell L. and Barbara Heulitt of Colts Neck, Bryan L. and Cheryl Heulitt and Christopher L. and Cheryl Heulitt, all of Jackson, and Bruce E. and Kristen Heulitt of Ogden, Utah; one daughter and son-in-law, Noreen L. and Antonino Baldasari of Forked River; his father, Lester M. Heulitt of Marlboro; two brothers, Howard L. Heulitt of Red Oak, Va., and Leslie M. Heulitt of Woodland, Calif.; a sister, Isabella H. Orr of Manalapan; his fiancée, Thelma Matthews of Freehold; and 13 grandchildren. A funeral service was held at the C.H.T. Clayton & Son Funeral Home, Adelphia section of Howell, followed by interment, which was private. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Monmouth Unit, 801 Broad St., Shrewsbury 07702.

Josephine D’Angelo

Mrs. D’Angelo, 92, died Nov. 5 at Jackson Center, Jackson. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had resided in Toms River. She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony, in 1988, a son, Robert, in 2002 and a brother, Andrew Scala. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Maria De Angelo of Freehold Township; three sisters, Rachael Petrillo and Antoinette Mule, both of Brooklyn, and Joan Jordan of Toms River; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held at Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, followed by entombment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Toms River.

Dale M. Pittius Benedett

Mrs. Benedett, 53, of Bayville died Oct. 30 at Bayshore Health Center, Holmdel. Born in South Amboy, she resided in the Cliffwood section of Aberdeen prior to moving to Bayville three years ago. She was a homemaker, and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4247, Keyport. Mrs. Benedett was predeceased by her parents, William and Jean Ward Pittius; her son, Michael Reed, in 1972; and her daughter, Michele Benedett, in 1984. She is survived by her husband, John Benedett of Bayville; two sisters, Marlena Henriksen of Morganville, and Marsha Danino of Marlboro; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are by Day Funeral Home, Keyport. Interment will be Nov. 5 at Gracelawn Memorial Park Cemetery, New Castle, Del.

Frances Presti

Frances Presti, 36, of Neptune died Oct. 29 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Hazlet, she resided there prior to moving to Neptune two years ago. She held a master’s degree. She was a member the Bayshore Women’s Softball League for many years. She was predeceased by her father, Francis Presti, in 1990. She is survived by her mother, Dora Onofrio Presti of Hazlet; her partner, Jenn Martino of Neptune; a sister, Donna Cottrell of Brick; two brothers, Paul Presti of Union Beach and John Presti of Palm Harbor, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach. Interment was at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport. Memorial donations may be made to Howard Stern Relief Fund, FDR Station, P.O. Box 869, New York, NY 10150.
