Robert Hindman Jr.
Mr. Hindman, 66, of Monmouth Beach died Oct. 13 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in East Orange, he resided in Cedar Grove and Belleville prior to moving to Monmouth Beach in 1967. Mr. Hindman was president/owner of Robert Hindman Inc., New York City, where he was employed since 1957. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Clifton. He enjoyed time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Audrey M. Kelly Hindman; three sons and daughters-in-law, Scott A. and Barbara Hindman of West Long Branch, Donald B. and Kas Hindman of Howell, and Douglas R. and Kim Hindman of West Long Branch; two daughters and sons-in-law, Heather D. and James J. Sullivan of Monmouth Beach, and Bonnie J. and Stephen Solan of Long Branch; and eight grandchildren. Interment

Timothy Patrick Sterling
Mr. Sterling, 57, of the West Keansburg section of Hazlet, died Oct. 18 at Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation, Red Bank. Born in Long Branch, he was a lifelong resident of West Keansburg. Mr. Sterling was a dock builder at union Local No. 1456, New York City, where he was employed 35 years before retiring. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Michele DeVirgilio Sterling; a daughter, Dena Sterling of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown; a son, Ryan Sterling of West Keansburg; two brothers, Rex A. Sterling of Florida and William H. Sterling of Lakewood; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg, followed by entombment at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. The John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown, was in charage of arrangements.
George D. Drexler
The Rev. George D. Drexler, 90, of Long Branch, died Oct. 15 at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. He was born in Newark. Rev. Drexler was ordained by Archbishop Thomas J. Walsh at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Newark, in 1939. For the past 25 years, he was a retired weekend assistant at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church West End section of Long Branch for 25. Prior to that, he served with the Newark Archdiocese until his retirement in 1978, and was pastor emeritus and founding pastor at Holy Spirit Church, Union. He also served in parishes in Orange, Plainfield and Jersey City. He was moderator of St. Michael’s Rosary Altar Society, Long Branch, and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Union Council No. 4504. He was predeceased by two brothers, Frank and Paul Drexler; and infant siblings Edward, Anna May and Mary. He is survived by a cousin, Elizabeth A. Quinlan of Avon by the Sea; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Michael’s Church. Interment

Matthew A. Chin
Mr. Chin, 19, of Red Bank died Oct. 14 in Hazlet. He was born in Red Bank. Mr. Chin was a retail clerk at Old Navy, Holmdel, and a student at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft section of Middletown. He was a graduate of Raritan High School, Hazlet, where he participated in track, wrestling and football. He enjoyed motorcycling, playing with his five dogs, and driving his jeep. He is survived by his parents, Priscilla L. and James Chin of Hazlet; a brother, Ryan Chin of Middletown; a sister, Venus Chin of Matawan; his grandmother, Winnie Lau of New York City; and one niece. Doris Louise Pietrewicz Mancini
Mrs. Mancini, 66, of Keyport died Oct. 23 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Keyport, she was a lifelong resident. She was a quality control inspector at Freedom Electronics, Tinton Falls, for 30 years, retiring recently due to illness. Mrs. Mancini is survived by a daughter, Christina Mancini of Keyport; two sons, Leon Mancini of Morganville and Alex Mancini of Hazlet; a sister, Francine Argentino of Union Beach; a brother, Alex Pietrewicz of Toms River; and two grandchildren. A memorial Mass was offered at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport.
Anthony Louis Randon
Mr. Randon, 47, of Lakewood died Oct. 20 at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he lived in Howell before moving to Lakewood three years ago. For 27 years he was a shipping and receiving foreman at the A&P warehouse in Edison, and a member of Teamsters Local 863. He is survived by his parents, Eleanora and Victor of Boca Raton, Fla.; two sons, Anthony and Jai Michael Randon, both of Howell; a daughter, Christina Randon of Point Pleasant Beach; the mother of his children, Denise DiFiore of Howell; two brothers, Dave Randon of Morganville and Ron Randon of West Hampton, N.Y.; a sister, Marisa Anderson of Staten Island, N.Y.; four nieces; three nephews; and his companion, Patty Kubaska of Lakewood. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church in Farmingdale, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold. Sam Maniscalco
Mr. Maniscalco, 80, of Aberdeen died Oct. 16 at home. Born in Perth Amboy, he resided in Aberdeen the past 57 years. He was a retired head custodian for the Matawan-Aberdeen Regional School District, for 17 years, retiring in 1988. He served with the U.S. Navy and Seabees during World War II and the Korean War. He was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Cliffwood section of Aberdeen, and a senior citizens group. He is survived by his wife, Betty L. Maniscalco of Aberdeen; his son and daughter-in-law, John and Susan Maniscalco of Howell; his daughter, Donna Poranski of Matawan; two brothers, Richard Maniscalco of Pennsylvania, and Roger Maniscalco of Freehold; his sister, Satina Polizzi of Toms River; and four grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. Interment

Robert A. Nichols Sr.
Mr. Nichols, 71, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., formerly of Howell, died Oct. 22 at St. Lucie Medical Center, Port St. Lucie. Born in Plainfield, he lived in Howell before moving to Port St. Lucie in 1997. For more than 45 years, he was a telephone communications technician for the New Jersey Bell Telephone Co. and then AT&T. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he served during the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post 318 and the Singletarian Society of Port St. Lucie. He was predeceased by his wife, Joan B. Nichols, in 1999. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert A. and Rhonda Nichols Jr. of Howell, and Richard A. and Michele Nichols of Jackson; one sister, Anne LaPointe of Huntsville, Ala.; and two grandsons. A funeral service was held at St. William the Abbott Catholic Church, Howell, with the Rev. Michael Manning officiating. Interment
followed at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan. The C.H.T. Clayton & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mona Silverstein
Mrs. Silverstein, 94, of Lakewood died Oct. 23 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Russia, she resided in New York before moving to Lakewood 31 years ago. She was predeceased by her husband, Martin, in 1980. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Lewis and Sorena Silverstein of Middletown; a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Steven Gelber of Freehold Township; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A graveside service was held at Beth David Cemetery
in Elmont, N.Y. Arrangements were under the direction of Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold.
Florence Marie Faustmann
Mrs. Faustmann, 87, of Howell died Oct. 25 at home. Born in Newark, she resided in Colts Neck for 40 years before moving to Howell in 1998. Before her retirement, Mrs. Faustmann was a clerk at Prudential Insurance, Newark, and a sales associate at various retail stores for several years. She attended Colts Neck Reformed Church, where she also taught Sunday school. She was predeceased by her husband, August George Faustmann, in 2000. She is survived by two sons, Robert A. Faustmann Sr. of Penns Park, Pa., and Christopher L. Faustmann of the Wanamassa section of Ocean Township; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Interment
was at Shoreland Memorial Park, Hazlet. Arrangements were by C.H.T. Clayton & Son Funeral Home, Adelphia.
