Madeline A. Mooney
Mrs. Mooney, 87, of Howell died Oct. 21 at home. Born in Elizabeth, she lived in Linden and Tuckerton before moving to Howell. She had worked in retail sales and for Nason’s Ladies Apparel in Linden, retiring in 1976. She is survived by her husband, Francis Mooney; a daughter, Lynn Tornich of Manalapan; two brothers, John Astorina of Colonia and Tom Astorina of Arizona; four sisters, Terry Conlin and Rose Hansen, both of Florida, Mary Smith of Minnesota and Irene Hrudowski of Rahway; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, followed by interment at St. Gertrude Cemetery
in Colonia.Roberta Mills
Mrs. Mills, 82, of Howell, died Oct. 15 at home. Born in Barrett Township, Pa., she had lived in New York before moving to Howell in 1946, and was a member of Rosie the Riveter of New Jersey. Until her retirement in 2002, for 20 years, she was a toll collector for the state of New Jersey at Allaire State Park, Wall. Prior to that, for 10 years, she was a school bus driver for the Freehold Regional School District. She is survived by a son, Eugene D. Mills of Jackson; a daughter, Marilyn M. Krokowsky of Farmingdale; a sister, Mildred Buzzard of Delaware Water Gap, Pa.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson. A funeral service was held at the C.H.T. Clayton & Son Funeral Home, Adelphia section of Howell, with the Rev. Harvey Kelley officiating. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery
in Farmingdale.
Dolores Turchin
Mrs. Turchin, 74, of Freehold Township, formerly of Kendall Park, died Oct. 23 at Applewood Estates, Freehold Township. Born in New York, she lived in the Bronx and graduated from James Monroe High School in 1947. She resided in the Kendall Park section of South Brunswick for 46 years and was a former crossing guard for the South Brunswick Police Department. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Middlesex County Legal Services in New Brunswick. She was predeceased by her husband, Israel, in 1982. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, David and Randy Turchin of East Windsor; a daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Thomas Koller of Freehold Township; a brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Ruth Olinsky of Freehold; and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, followed by burial at Floral Park Cemetery, Deans.
Frances M. Losardo
Mrs. Losardo, 86, of Howell died Oct. 23 at Jackson Center Genesis Eldercare, Jackson. Born in Jersey City, she lived there before moving to Howell 10 years ago. She was a communicant of the Church of St. Veronica, Howell, and a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She worked as a Comptometer operator for Western Electric until she retired in 1981. Surviving is her niece, Teresa Tuohy of Howell; many other nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. A funeral service was held at the Church of St. Veronica, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery
in North Arlington. The C.H.T. Clayton & Son Funeral Home, Adelphia section of Howell, was in charge of arrangements.
James D. "Jamie" Cama
Mr. Cama, 38, of Farmingdale died Oct. 12 at home. Born in Red Bank, he had lived in Keansburg and Belmar before moving to Farmingdale nine years ago. He was the owner of East Coast Roofing Co., Farmingdale, and a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Farmingdale. A member of the Monmouth County Gun Club, he enjoyed hunting and scuba diving. He was predeceased by his parents, Selma and Joseph, and a brother, Dennis. Surviving are his wife, Veronica Flynn Cama; a son, Nicholas, and two daughters, Randi and Sarah, all at home; two brothers, Joseph Cama of Towanda, Pa., and Kenneth Cama of Keansburg; a sister, Sonta Menichelli of Underhill, Vt.; his in-laws, Gloria and John Flynn, also of Keansburg; five nieces; and five nephews. Funeral services were held at the C.H.T. Clayton & Son Funeral Home, Adelphia section of Howell, with the Rev. Michael Vona officiating. Interment

Frank DiGennaro
Mr. DiGennaro, 82, of Matawan died Oct. 13 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in New York, he relocated to Matawan 40 years ago. He was a documentation manager at Naverias, Port Elizabeth, retiring in 1990. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Natalie DiGennaro; his son, Nicholas DiGennaro of Matawan; his daughter, Ann Thompson of Howell; two sisters, Rose Cardella of Courtland Manor, N.Y., and Teresa Luca of Somers, N.Y.; and two gran daughters.
Elizabeth Ann Zigenfus
Ms. Zigenfus, 72, of Mountainside, formerly of Manalapan, died Oct. 9 at Manor Care Mountainside in Union County. Born in East Orange, she lived in Manalapan and Elizabeth before moving to Mountainside. She was predeceased by her father, William Zigenfus, and a sister, Lynn Battersby. She is survived by her mother, Marie Zigenfus of Evansville, Ind.; two brothers, Robert Zigenfus, also of Evansville, and Gary Zigenfus of Plano, Texas; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering will be held Oct. 18 from 2-4 p.m. at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 north, Manalapan. Dominic A. Carone
Mr. Carone, 60, of Freehold Township died Oct. 10 at Cavalry Hospital in the Bronx. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he lived in Staten Island, N.Y., before moving to Freehold Township 19 years ago. He was a Vietnam veteran in the United States Army who rose to the rank of staff sergeant with the 1st Infantry Division and was also a Bronze Star and Purple Heart recipient. He was employed in the securities industry, where he served as chairman and/or president of committees and divisions that the Securities Industry Association formed in order to address national and global financial regulatory issues. In 2003 he completed 25 years of service at Merrill Lynch. He also designed the content for the Esophageal Cancer Education Foundation Web site. Surviving are his wife, Kathleen; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dominic A. and Pamela Carone Jr. of Buffalo, N.Y., and Michael Carone of Framingham, Mass.; a brother, Raymond Carone of Massapequa, N.Y. He had also been expecting his first grandchild. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church in Marlboro, followed by entombment at St. Gabriel’s Mausoleum, Marlboro. George Christopher Hendry
Mr. Hendry, 80, of Freehold died Oct. 6 at The Manor, Freehold Township. Born in Winter Haven, Fla., he had lived in Howell and Freehold Township before moving to Freehold 25 years ago. He was the owner and operator of Freehold Taxi, Freehold, for 30 years. Prior to that, for 17 years he had owned and operated George’s Taxi in Howell. He was a member of the Bethel A.M.E. Church, Freehold, and a former member of the Sixth Street Baptist Church, Lakewood. He was also the former chairman for the Freehold Borough Assistance Board. He was predeceased by two sons, Robert Durham Hendry and Bobby Hendry; a brother, James Quarterman; and a sister, Dorothy J. Waters. Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Lillie Ham Hendry; three daughters, Gloria Jean Hendry of Granada Hills, Calif., Milika Gladys Hendry of Pasadena, Calif., and Jeanette Williams of South Brunswick; three brothers, John Hendry of San Diego, Calif., Allen Henry of Winter Haven, Fla., and Herbert Lee Hendry of Amarillo, Texas; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the Bethel A.M.E. Church, followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.
Charlotte M. Rounds
Mrs. Rounds, 87, of Tinton Falls died Oct. 5 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge Division. Born in Howell, she resided in Aberdeen prior to moving to Tinton Falls three years ago. She was a homemaker and co-proprietor with her husband of Highway Garage, Colts Neck and Matawan, until 1963. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles A. Rounds, in 1989; and a daughter, Joyce McGee, in 1998. She is survived by her son, Charles A. Rounds of Tinton Falls; two daughters, Darcy Sullivan of Half Moon Bay, Calif., and Frances Rounds of Kansas City, Mo.; her brother, Willard Conk of Vero Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Oct. 8 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at C.H.T. Clayton & Son Funeral Home, Adelphia.
