Sophie M. Ballon Corbett
Mrs. Corbett, 88, formerly of South River, died Oct. 2 in Pine Brook Care Center, Manalapan. Her husband, Russell, died in 1995, and a son, James, died in 1974. Surviving are a son, Donald F. Corbett Sr. of Englishtown; a brother, Stanley Ballon of Throop, Pa.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Marie Braitsch of South River. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Interment
was in Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River.
Margaret J. Ferko
Mrs. Ferko, 87, of Lawrenceville, died Oct. 11 at Tandem Healthcare of Lawrenceville. Born in Plainfield, she was a longtime resident of Avenel before moving to Lawrenceville four years ago. Mrs. Ferko was a clerk for Purolator Industries in Rahway for 20 years. She was a former communicant of St. Andrew’s Church, Avenel. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul W. Ferko Sr.; a son, Paul W. Ferko Jr., who had been a resident of Freehold; two daughters, Marjorie Fontenelli and Mary Lou Brown; and a grandson, Bret Fontenelli. Mrs. Ferko is survived by two daughters, Joan Mastowski of Lavallette and Joyce Erhardt of Lawrenceville; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church, Freehold Township, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. The Freeman Funeral Home, Manalapan, was in charge of arrangements.
Cecelia Pitcher
Mrs. Pitcher, 68, of Freehold Township, died on Oct. 7 at home. Born in New York City, she had lived in the Freehold area for the past 35 years. A parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold, she was a former member of the St. Rose of Lima PTA, as well as a member of the Silvermead Community Center, Freehold Township. An active dancer, Mrs. Pitcher was a medical assistant and bookkeeper for Dr. B. Richmond in Freehold. Surviving are her husband, Richard; a son, Thomas Christopher Pitcher of Freehold Township; a daughter, Kathleen Mary Salerno of Farmingdale; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held at the C.H.T. Clayton & Son Funeral Home, Adelphia, followed by a Mass at St. Rose of Lima Church. Interment
took place at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery

Anna Sophie Deschon
Mrs. Deschon, 90, of Freehold died Oct. 3 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Kurstedt, Germany, she resided in Riegelsville, Pa., before moving to Freehold in 1978. She and her husband were the proprietors of George’s Deli, Denville, from 1969-73. Prior to that, she was a grocery clerk for the Acme Markets in Roxbury. She was predeceased by her husband, Willy, in 1992, as well as five sisters and a brother. Surviving are a son, Robert W. Deschon of Fairless Hills, Pa.; a daughter, Madeline B. Deschon of Freehold; and a brother, Heinie Rathjen of Germany. A funeral service was held at Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, followed by a private burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Iselin.
Steven D. Domenick
Mr. Domenick, 50, of Aberdeen died Oct. 7 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Angola, Ind., he resided in Jersey City and the Fords section of Woodbridge prior to moving to Aberdeen in 1979. He was sales manager, motor fuels sales at Amerada Hess, Woodbridge, for 30 years. He coached baseball and soccer for leagues in Matawan and Aberdeen. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Kramer Domenick; his parents, Samuel and Honey Kopf Domenick of Fords; three daughters and one son, Jennifer, Stephanie, Samantha and Bryan Domenick, all at home; a brother and sister-in-law, Jeffrey and Michele Domenick of Wall; and a sister, Suzy Domenick of Freehold. Interment

Dorothy M. Lane
Mrs. Lane, 69, of Toms River, died Sept. 21 at home. Born in Farmingdale, she had lived in Howell before moving to Toms River 25 years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of the East Dover Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband, Latius Lane; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Anthony Bruning of Toms River, Mark and Janet Bruning of Waretown, and Eugene and Bonnie Lane of Brick; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Francis and Evelyn Morgan of Sarasota, Fla., Robert and Eileen Morgan of Farmingdale, and Frances Morgan of Georgia; one sister and brother-in-law, Ann and William Mathews of Spring Lake; and five grandchildren. A memorial gathering was held at the C.H.T. Clayton & Son Funeral Home, Adelphia, followed by interment at Farmingdale-Evergreen Cemetery, Farmingdale.
Mary Ellen Ezzo
Mrs. Ezzo, 51, of Beachwood, died Sept. 22 at her daughter’s home in Manalapan. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., she lived in Manalapan for 20 years before moving to Beachwood seven years ago. She was a homemaker. Surviving are a son, Bill Ezzo of Manalapan; three daughters and a son-in-law, Joanne and Steve Zeleznik, Cathy Ezzo and Mary Ann Ezzo, all of Manalapan; and three grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church, Englishtown, followed by interment, which was private. Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, was in charge of arrangements.
Theresa C. Bravo Wilcox
Mrs. Wilcox, 40, of Virginia died Aug. 17 at Mary Immaculate Hospital, Newport News, Va. Born in New Brunswick, she resided there until moving to Virginia 17 years ago. Mrs. Wilcox is survived by her husband of 17 years, Brian S. Wilcox; two daughters, Felecia and Chelsea, of Virginia; her parents, Miguel T. and Theresa C. Bravo of Tucson, Ariz.; a sister, Madeline Cuber of Memphis, Tenn.; a brother, Daniel Bravo of Howell; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the Maliszewski Funeral Home, South River.
Estelle Washko
Estelle Washko, 89, of Palm Coast, Fla., formerly of Old Bridge and Milltown, died in Sept. 9 in Palm Coast. She and her late husband, Benjamin J. Washko Sr., owned and operated Midway Garage, Old Bridge, and South Side Auto Garage, Milltown. Surviving are a son, Benjamin J. Washko Jr. of Palm Coast; a daughter, Phyllis Puskas of Cape Cod, Mass.; a sister, Martha Kuchinski of Englishtown; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
