Walter Nedza
Mr. Nedza, 79, of Manalapan died Sept. 19 at home. Born in Poland, he resided in Manalapan since 1958. A communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church in Englishtown, he was a foreman for the Monmouth County Bridge Department for 18 years before his retirement in 1989. Mr. Nedza is survived by his wife, Wanda; a son, Charles, at home; six daughters, Christine Bradbury of Englishtown, Donna Hermanski of Manalapan, Theresa Fetty of Port Orange, Fla., Lilly Jolly of Ortley Beach, Sophie Vogel of South River and Irene Vitrano of Norfolk, Va.; three brothers, Frank, Fred and Wojteh Nedza, all of Poland; 20 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at Our Lady of Mercy Church, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, was in charge of arrangements.
Beatrice "Bea" Siegel
Mrs. Siegel, 93, of Englishtown, died Sept. 23 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Newark, she lived in Perth Amboy and Freehold before moving to Englishtown two years ago. For many years, she was a senior salesperson for the Paramount Shop, Perth Amboy, and she later managed the Carvel of Freehold ice cream store, Freehold Township. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert M. Siegel, who died in 1971. Surviving are a son, Harvey Siegel of San Antonio, Texas; a daughter, Muriel Hersh, of Marlboro; a brother, Seymour Spector of Edison; a sister, Ann Hirschorn of Freehold; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, with Rabbi Kenneth Greene officiating. Interment

Joseph M. Soman
Mr. Soman of Howell died Aug. 11. He was born in Beacon, N.Y. He attended Siena College, Loudonville, N.Y., before beginning a career in information management at IBM, where he worked for 35 years before retiring in 1987. After his retirement, he founded a consulting business, which he managed until his death. Mr. Soman was predeceased by his wife, Sheila Knox Whalen, in 2001. Surviving are eight children, Jeffrey of Wilmette, Ill., Laurie of Berkeley, Calif., Nancy of Voorhees, Lisa of East Brunswick, Kathryn of Manhattan, N.Y., Page of Howell, Sarah of San Francisco, and Victoria of Howell; a brother, Dewey of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; several cousins; and eight grandchildren. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Sept. 20 at 11 a.m. at St. Veronica’s Roman Catholic Church, Route 9, Howell. Florence Baird Craig
Mrs. Craig, 92, of Holmdel died Sept. 16 at CareOne at Holmdel. Born in Freehold, she resided in Manalapan, and Easton, Md., prior to moving to Holmdel. She taught in Manalapan schools. She was a member of Old Tennent Presbyterian Church, Tennent; Maryland Presbyterian Church, Easton, where she served as an elder; and the Community Church of Rossmoor, Monroe. She was predeceased by her husband, Tunis P. Craig in 1976; her brother, William Denise Baird; and her sister, Carolyn Lott. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Peter and Linda Craig of Cooperstown, N.Y.; her daughter and son-in-law, Millicent and Robert Gianettino of Colts Neck; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. James Warren Kirby
Mr. Kirby, 81, of Freehold died Aug. 30 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Freehold, he was a lifelong resident. In 1942, Mr. Kirby served as a private first class in the U.S. Army medical corps during World War II. A parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church in Freehold, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1672, Freehold, where he was a fourth degree knight. He also served more than 25 years as a court officer for the county of Monmouth assigned to the juvenile division. Mr. Kirby was the owner of the Bloomfield Inn in Englishtown from 1962-1965, as well as the owner and operator of Kirby Cleaners in Freehold. He is survived by his wife, Dora Zerilli Kirby; one daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Leonard Sullivan of Manasquan; two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass was held at St. Rose of Lima Church, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.
Evelyn Wilson
Mrs. Wilson, of Freehold Township, died March 29 at Avante at Red Bank Care Center, Red Bank. Born in Linden, she lived in Matawan before moving to Freehold 37 years ago. She is survived by her husband, Charles, of Freehold Township; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Kelly Wilson of New Milford, Conn.; two sisters, Dorothy Hultfeldt of Springhill, Fla., and Mary Ann Taylor of New Jersey. Entombment was at Atlantic View Cemetery, Brielle.
Geraldine D’Ambrosio Specchio
Geraldine D’Ambrosio Specchio, 72, of Union Beach died Aug. 31 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Jersey City, she resided in Union City before moving to Union Beach several years ago. Mrs. Specchio was a homemaker. She was a communicant of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph A. Specchio, in 1989; and a daughter, Sharon Specchio, in 1987. Mrs. Specchio is survived by three daughters, Sandra Case of the Belford section of Middletown, Debra Marcus of Millstone, and Donna Setterstrom of Union Beach; two sons, Joseph Specchio of Marlboro and Phillip Specchio and Stephen Specchio, both of Union Beach; a brother, Anthony D’Ambrosio of Hasbrouck Heights; two sisters, Ann Kick of Ridgefield Park and Eleanor Ash of Hazlet; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Holy Family Church, followed by burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Keyport.
Harry J. Winchester
Harry J. Winchester, 72, of Manalapan died Aug. 31 at Pine Brook Care Center, Manalapan. Born in New York City, he lived in the Whitestone section of New York prior to moving to Manalapan 37 years ago. Until his retirement 10 years ago, Mr. Winchester was a general foreman for the Consolidated Edison Co. of New York for 42 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, where he served on the USS Oriskany. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church, Englishtown. Mr. Winchester was also a fire commissioner for the Manalapan Fire Company No. 1 and a member of the Gordons Corner Fire Company, Manalapan. Surviving are his wife, Maureen O’Gara Winchester; a daughter, Diane Simone of Manalapan; two brothers, Robert Winchester of Columbus, Ohio, and Ronald Winchester of Rockville Center, N.Y.; and three granddaughters. Funeral services were held at Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, followed by a funeral liturgy at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church, Englishtown. Interment

Rita Ragosa
Rita Ragosa, 62, of Manalapan died Sept. 13 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Italy, she lived in Jersey City before moving to Manalapan 26 years ago. She was a communicant of St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church in Manalapan. She was predeceased by her husband, Eugenio, in 2002. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Emilio and Maria Ragosa of Howell and David Ragosa and his fiancée, Maria, of Manalapan; two daughters and a son-in-law, Laura and Marc Steinberg of Spotswood, and Susanna Ragosa and her fiancé, Brett, of Manalapan; a brother, Emilio Granata of Jackson; five sisters, Maria Sellitto of Bayonne, Filomena Fasolino of Carlstadt, Angelina Marinelli of Bayonne, and Anna Fabbrocile and Gemma Costa, both of Jersey City; and three grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Thomas More Church, Manalapan, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
