Mary Varga Cybula
Mrs. Cybula, 93, of South Brunswick died Oct. 4 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Hungary, she moved to the United States as a child and lived in South River, Sayreville and East Brunswick prior to moving to South Brunswick 30 years ago. She was a forelady at Louis F. Brodsky and Sons, South River, for several years prior to retirement. She enjoyed gardening. She was predeceased by her husband, Alex Cybula, in 1992; her brother, Geza Varga; and two sisters, Helen Valena and Elizabeth Alexander. She is survived by her sister, Susanne Koziatek of South River; and several nieces and nephews. Interment
was at Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River. Arrangements were by Eckman Funeral Home, Spotswood.
Dorothea Eleanor Wilson
Mrs. Wilson, 88, of Monroe, formerly of Brentwood, N.Y., died Oct. 1 in Cranbury Center, Monroe. Her husband, Anthony, died in 1943. Surviving are a son, Jack E. of North Brunswick; a daughter, Georgiana Garelick of Monroe; a brother, Elwood Brownworth of North Carolina; and five grandchildren. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Cremation was private. Memorial contributions may be made to the animal shelter of one’s choice.
Richard J. Bochis Sr., Ph.D.
Dr. Bochis, 67, of East Brunswick died Oct. 4 at home. Surviving are his wife, Patricia Grace Bochis; a son, Richard J. Bochis Jr. of Cedar Grove; two daughters, Donna Padovono of the Dayton section of South Brunswick and Kathy King of LaGrangeville, N.Y.; a sister, Arlene Ward of Avon; and five grandchildren. A Mass is planned for 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 9 at St. Bartholomew’s Church, East Brunswick. Interment
will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
George Christopher Hendry
Mr. Hendry, 80, of Freehold died Oct. 6 at The Manor, Freehold Township. Born in Winter Haven, Fla., he had lived in Howell and Freehold Township before moving to Freehold 25 years ago. He was the owner and operator of Freehold Taxi, Freehold, for 30 years. Prior to that, for 17 years he had owned and operated George’s Taxi in Howell. He was a member of the Bethel A.M.E. Church, Freehold, and a former member of the Sixth Street Baptist Church, Lakewood. He was also the former chairman for the Freehold Borough Assistance Board. He was predeceased by two sons, Robert Durham Hendry and Bobby Hendry; a brother, James Quarterman; and a sister, Dorothy J. Waters. Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Lillie Ham Hendry; three daughters, Gloria Jean Hendry of Granada Hills, Calif., Milika Gladys Hendry of Pasadena, Calif., and Jeanette Williams of South Brunswick; three brothers, John Hendry of San Diego, Calif., Allen Henry of Winter Haven, Fla., and Herbert Lee Hendry of Amarillo, Texas; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the Bethel A.M.E. Church, followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township.
Priscilla B. Dettloff
Mrs. Dettloff, 78, of South Brunswick died Oct. 13 at Bayonne Medical Center. Born in Newark, she resided in Madison Park and the Parlin section of Sayreville before moving to South Brunswick. She was a waitress and hostess at Peter Pank Diner, Sayreville, for 40 years. She was predeceased by her husband, William Dettloff, in 1981. She is survived by her son, William Dettloff of Allentown, Pa.; two daughters, Patricia Dettloff of Long Beach Island, and Mary Dettloff of Hoboken; and six grandchildren. Visitation will be Oct. 16 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at The Gundrum Service Home for Funerals, South Amboy. Mrs. Cicchi, 73, of Highland Park, died Oct. 11 at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. She resided in North Brunswick most of her life, prior to moving to Highland Park five years ago. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, New Brunswick. She was a member of The Pioneers and Italian American Club, North Brunswick, and the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Clark-Moetz Post No. 2319, Milltown. She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard Cicchi; and a daughter, Linda La Duca. She is survived by her daughter, Adrienne Rodgers of Panama City, Fla.; and her sister, Blanche Burns of Milltown. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, New Brunswick.
Gary J. Mason
Mr. Mason, 48, of South River, formerly of North Brunswick, died Oct. 11 at home. He was a former security guard for Professional Security Bureau, Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Getto Mason; four daughters, Laura Huxford of Milltown, Susan Mason and Cindy Mason, both of South River, and Lauralee Alfrey of Sayreville; a son, Charles England of Gladys, Va.; his parents, William and Helen Mason of Newark; a brother, Brian Mason of Verona; nine grandchildren; and three nephews. Services were held at Maliszewski Funeral Home, South River. Interment
was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.
John Yurchek
Mr. Yurchek, 86, of Milltown died Oct. 8 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement in 1979, he was employed as a foreman at E.R. Squibb, North Brunswick, where he worked for 33 years. His wife, Jacquelyn Jacquemot Yurchek, died in 1982. Surviving are a daughter, Paula Dana of North Brunswick; a son, John R. Yurchek of Milltown; a brother, Stanley Yurchek; and a grandson. A blessing was offered at Crabiel Home for Funerals, Milltown. Interment
