Robert C. Potter
Mr. Potter, 81, of Milltown, formerly of North Brunswick, died Oct. 15 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement in 1973, he was the owner of Jane Logan Shoppe, Milltown, for 10 years. He also worked as an independent insurance broker. A former member of the Milltown Board of Education, he served as chairman of building and grounds during the building of Parkview School. He served as president of the Milltown Chamber of Commerce and was in charge of public safety while serving on the Milltown Borough Council from 1967-68. Surviving are his wife, Jean Booream Potter; two daughters, Peggy Wojtal of Milltown and Kathleen Ward of East Amwell; two sisters, Margorie Borieszo of Yardley, Pa., and Gloria Moore of Vero Beach, Fla.; three granddaughters; one step-grandson; and one great-grandson. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church of Milltown or to the Milltown Public Library. Services were held at Crabiel Home for Funerals, Milltown. Interment
was in Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick.
Francis Swirk
Mr. Swirk, 72, of South River died Oct. 16 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 20 years by the South River Parks Department. Before that, he worked for Phelps Dodge, South Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Marlene Frenzel Swirk; a daughter, Diane Salko of Cream Ridge; a brother, William Swirk Jr. of Sayreville; and a grandson. A Mass was offered at Corpus Christi Church, South River. Interment
was in Washington Monumental Cemetery, East Brunswick.
Rosalie Pizzoloto Lichtman
Mrs. Lichtman, 80, of East Brunswick died Oct. 16 in Park Place Center, South Brunswick. Prior to her retirement in 1995, she was employed for 17 years by Bradlees, North Brunswick. Her husband, Sidney H. Lichtman, died in 2002. Surviving are three sons, Hank of North Brunswick, Robert of Wall and Howard of Monroe; a brother, Rosario Pizzoloto of the Toms River section of Dover; a brother-in-law, Herbert Lichtman of New York City; a sister-in-law, Yetta Lichtman of Davie, Fla.; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Entombment was in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens. James P. Dolan
Mr. Dolan, 80, of Sayreville died Oct. 17 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Prior to his retirement 18 years ago, he was employed as an electrical engineer with Okonite Cable Corp., North Brunswick. A former member of the Sayreville Board of Education and the Sayreville Borough Council, he served as Sayreville Tax Collector for many years. Surviving are his wife, Constance Makwinski Dolan; a son, James B. Dolan of Sayreville; three daughters, Dianne Veilleux of Belmar, Erin Dolan Wass of Loch Arbour and Jill E. Dolan of Hillsborough; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment
was in New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin section of Sayreville.
Louise S. Bossow
Mrs. Bossow, 91, of Bay Head died Oct. 25 at Claremont Center, Point Pleasant. Born in West New York, she resided in the Deans section of South Brunswick prior to moving to Bay Head 10 years ago. She was a former member of Six Mile Run Reformed Church, Franklin Park. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Bossow in 1971. She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Bossow of Bay Head, and George Bossow of South Seaside Park; her daughter, Carol Stark of Seaford, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Interment
was at Elm Ridge Cemetery, North Brunswick. Arrangements were by Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick.
Michael J. Catanzaro II
Mr. Catanzaro, 47, of Milltown died Oct. 24 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Bea Christian Catanzaro; four children, Kelly Christian, Michael J. Catanzaro III and Casey Christian, all of Milltown, and Gerianne Catanzaro of Michigan; his parents, Nellie and Michael J. Catanzaro of Milltown; a brother, John of Milltown; two sisters, Debra Ann Wayne of North Brunswick and Cheryl Joann Bonham of Millstone; and several nieces and nephews. A liturgy was offered at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Milltown. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the Catanzaro Children’s Fund, P.O. Herbert C. Nicklaus
Mr. Nicklaus, 83, of North Brunswick died Oct. 24 at home. Born in Ozone Park, N.Y., he lived in Highland Park before moving to North Brunswick 49 years ago. He was a pension counselor for the New Jersey State Division of Pensions, Trenton, for 10 years, retiring in 1989. Prior to that, he was a life insurance representative at Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. for 25 years. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps as a navigator and bombardier during World War II, completing 36 missions. He also received the Distinguished Flying Cross. He served on the North Brunswick Board of Education from 1965-71. He was a member of the 453rd Bombardment Group, National American Legion, and of the North Brunswick Senior Citizens Club. He enjoyed fly-fishing, reading and working in his garden. He was predeceased by his sister, Lydia Scherholz. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Evelyn Dickinson Nicklaus of North Brunswick; his daughter, Karen Nicklaus of Princeton; his son, Jeffrey Nicklaus of Treasure Island, Fla.; and two grandchildren. Interment
was at Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick. Arrangements were by Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick.
Robert A. Stults
Mr. Stults, 75, of Milltown died Oct. 27 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement in 1991, he was a bulk steel purchasing agent with Brown Boveri, North Brunswick, where he worked for 20 years. His first wife, Madeline Teneralli Stults, died in 1980, and his second wife, Elizabeth Robillard Stults, died in 1997. Surviving are a daughter, Susan E. Rivera of Trenton; his fiancée; and two grandchildren; Services were held at Crabiel Home for Funerals, Milltown. Lavina Blakeney Magner
Mrs. Magner, 87, of North Brunswick died Nov. 3 at Applegarth Care Center, Monroe Township. Born in New Brunswick, she resided in North Brunswick for more than 60 years. She was a coiler at National Musical String Co., New Brunswick, for more than 40 years, retiring in 1970. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Milltown. Mrs. Magner is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Veronica and Vincent Vignuolo; three granddaughters; and four great-grandsons. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, followed by interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery, New Brunswick. Arrangements were by Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick.
