Miss Fort, 88, of the Belford section of Middletown, died Oct. 7 at CareOne, Wall Township. She was employed as a cashier for several years at F.W. Woolworth, Red Bank. Edward P. Daly
Mr. Daly, 82, of the Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge, died Oct. 18, 2006, at Regency Park Nursing Home, Hazlet. Born in Newark, he resided there before moving to Cliffwood Beach in 1951. Mr. Daly was a physical science technician and was awarded several patents while employed at Fort Monmouth for 32 years, retiring in 1979. Following retirement, he drove a school bus for Wooley's Bus Co. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a communicant of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach. Mr. Daly was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph Daly and Frederick Daly. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Walbroel Daly; three daughters, Mary Bader of Rumson, Joan West of West Long Branch, and Patricia Daly of Matawan; two sons, Edward R. Daly of the Avenel section of Woodbridge, and Richard J. Daly of Howell; and eight grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial

Genevieve R. Poling Barrett
Mrs. Barrett, 86, of Keyport, died Sept. 7, 2006, at home. Born in Keyport, she was lifelong resident. She was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene E. Barrett; a son, Eugene W. Barrett; and two brothers, William Poling and Stanley Poling. She is survived by two sons, James Barrett of Athens, Tenn., and William Barrett of San Jose, Calif.; five daughters, Judith Wolf of Rumson, Susan Grzyb of Little Egg Harbor, Carol Riley of Florence, Genevieve Bagnell of the Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick, and Marian Barrett of Keyport; a sister, Adele Wheatley of Lakehurst; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Marie Murphy Nash
Mrs. Nash, 80, of Rumson, died Oct. 22, 2006, at Gateway Care Center, Eatontown. Born in Mountain Lakes, she was raised in New York City, prior to moving to Rumson in 1955. She was a communicant of St. Leo The Great Roman Catholic Church, Lincroft section of Middletown, and former communicant of Holy Cross Church, Rumson. She enjoyed time with her family, and the beach. She was predeceased by a brother, William F. Murphy Jr.; and her husband, John B. Nash in 1975. Stella M. Dziedzic
Mrs. Dziedzic, 80, of Brick, died Oct. 29, 2006, at Brick Hospital. Born in West Rutland, Vt., she resided in Oceanport, prior to moving to Brick more than 16 years ago. She was a cafeteria worker for Oceanport Board of Education for 15 years. She was a 25-year member and past president of the Oceanport Ladies Auxiliary. She was predeceased by a son, Bernard P. Dziedzic; and a grandson, Christopher E. Dziedzic. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Benjamin B. Dziedzic; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Ron Colangelo of Wall; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Dziedzic; a brother, Alexander W. Potowniak of Rutland, Vt.; three sisters, Agnes Dziubek and Judy Warzecho, both of Bristol, Conn., and Theresa Shelaski of West Rutland, Vt.; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Dorothea's Roman Catholic Church, Eatontown. Interment

Richard "Dick" C. Bertodatti Sr.
Mr. Bertodatti, 65, of Colts Neck, died Oct. 26, 2006, at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. He was a sales representative at Allied Building Supplies, Bound Brook. He also bred thoroughbred horses at his farm, and had successes at Monmouth Park, Oceanport; and Belmont, Aqueduct racetracks. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Colts Neck. He enjoyed baseball, and was signed by the Minnesota Twins Baseball Club following college graduation. He also appeared on TV at age 10 on Happy Felton's All-Stars where he met Jackie Robinson and Mickey Mantle. He was predeceased by his father, Dominick Bertodatti; and a grandson, Alexander Nathaniel. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Maureen E. Shaw Bertodatti; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Marissa Bertodatti Jr. of Fair Haven; three daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Matthew Jensen of Long Branch, Jill and Kevin Condon of Colts Neck, and Jodi and Gregory Foster of Point Pleasant Beach; his mother, Maria Bertodatti of Toms River; and 11 grandchildren. Emmi Giglio
Mrs. Giglio, 70, of Red Bank, died Sept. 17 at Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Holmdel. She was born and raised in Germany. She was a certified nurse's assistant at the Riverview Medical Center Hospice Unit, Red Bank, for 35 years, retiring in 2004. She is survived by four children, Carol of Atlantic Highlands, Joseph of Simpsonville, S.C., Peggy of Middletown, and Perry of Red Bank; two sisters, Margrit Bubbel and Crista Knofel, both of Germany; her former husband, Joseph of Holmdel; and four grandchildren. Visitation will be Sept. 22 from 10 a.m.-noon at Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. A funeral service will follow at noon at the funeral home. Robert Douglas Bennett
Mr. Bennett, 56, of Freehold Township, died Sept. 11 at home. He worked in the home-building industry for many years, and was a 1973 graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, Rutherford (with campuses now in Madison and Teaneck). Mr. Bennett was predeceased in March by his father, John "Pete" Bennett. Surviving are his mother, Helen Bennett of Freehold Township; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Ronald and Valerie Bennett of Jackson, Jeffrey and Janet Bennett of Ocean Township, and Scott Bennett of Freehold Township; two nieces, Megan and Cassie; and a nephew, Ryan. Funeral services were held at Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township.
Adele LaSecla Manning
Mrs. Manning, 79, of Lakewood, died Aug. 27 at Ocean County Medical Center, Brick. Born in Union, she resided in the Belford section of Middletown, prior to moving to Lakewood 12 years ago. She was employed at the Middletown Board of Education for 10 years, and she and her husband co-owned Dairy Queen, Belford, for eight years. She is survived by her husband, Peter Manning; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and William Buchan of Stowe, Vt., and Susan and Philip Crowe of Middletown; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Peter and Theresa Manning of Shrewsbury, Jack Manning of San Diego, Calif., and Bob and Amy Manning of Highlands; a sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine and Victor Kulbick of Florida; and nine grandchildren. James P. "Percy" Hodgkiss
Mr. Hodgkiss, 76, of Rumson, died Aug. 27 at home. Born in Red Bank, he resided in Fair Haven, prior to moving to Rumson in 1986. He was employed at Shop Rite, Aberdeen, retiring after 48 years. He was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. He was a member of the Fair Haven Fire Company since 1959. He was predeceased by his former wife, Lillian Hodgkiss; three brothers, Thomas, William and Donald Hodgkiss; and a step-grandchild, Michael Massa. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Elizabeth Whittaker Hodgkiss; a daughter and son-in-law, Ethel Hodgkiss and Joseph Truex of Rumson; a stepdaughter, Denise Willumson of Keansburg; three stepsons, Dan Cornelius of Red Bank, Frank Massa and his wife Diane of Little Silver, and Charles Massa and his wife, Nancy of Eatontown; a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Ben Wenning of Charlotte, N.C.; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
