Geraldine "Gerry" E. McGuire
Mrs. McGuire, 80, of Eatontown died Oct. 8 at King James Care Center, Middletown. Born in West Pittston, Pa., she resided in Little Silver prior to moving to Eatontown 10 years ago. Mrs. McGuire was an area Realtor for several years, as well as a homemaker. She was a former member of the Officers Club, Fort Monmouth, and was an avid golfer with the Officers’ Wives Club. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph J. McGuire, in 1996; and a son, Terrance McGuire, in 1995. She is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law, Edward McGuire of Worcester, Mass., Kevin and Maureen McGuire of Downingtown, Pa., Daniel J. and Melissa McGuire of Little Silver, and Joseph McGuire of Ithaca, N.Y.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Dr. John Ziegler of Ithaca, and Ann and Tom Murdock of Rumson; a brother, Carl Borr of Yuba City, Calif.; and seven grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Rumson. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home Inc., Red Bank. Marie McHugh Dobias
Mrs. Dobias, 71, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, formerly of Long Branch, died Oct. 18 at home. Surviving are her husband, Richard S. Dobias; a daughter, Susan Wassel of South Plainfield; two sons, Dr. Richard J. Dobias of Hanover Township, Pa., and Brian R. Dobias of East Windsor; a brother, Robert McHugh of Holland, Pa.; two granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Bernadette’s Church, Parlin section of Old Bridge. Frances Presti
Frances Presti, 36, of Neptune died Oct. 29 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Hazlet, she resided there prior to moving to Neptune two years ago. She held a master’s degree. She was a member the Bayshore Women’s Softball League for many years. She was predeceased by her father, Francis Presti, in 1990. She is survived by her mother, Dora Onofrio Presti of Hazlet; her partner, Jenn Martino of Neptune; a sister, Donna Cottrell of Brick; two brothers, Paul Presti of Union Beach and John Presti of Palm Harbor, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach. Interment

Mary Elizabeth Allen
Mrs. Allen, 84, of New York City died Oct. 29 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born and raised in Long Branch, she relocated to New York 67 years ago. She was an employee of the New York City Vital Statistics Department, where she worked for 35 years before retiring. Mrs. Allen was predeceased by her husband, Herbert D. Allen Sr., in 1995; and a son, Herbert D. Allen Jr., in 1999. She is survived by a daughter, Beverly F. Sunnerville of Long Branch; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Entombment was in New York City. Arrangements were by Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch. Anthony J. Savarese
Mr. Savarese, 79, of Oceanport, died Oct. 23 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he resided there prior to moving to Oceanport 20 years ago. He was a stockbroker at Adams and Peck, New York City, and at various area brokerage firms, retiring 14 years ago. He was a parishioner of Precious Blood Roman Catholic Church, Monmouth Beach, and St. Joan of Arc, Fort Monmouth. He was also a member of the Holy Name Society at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Brooklyn. Mr. Savarese is survived by his wife of 51 years, Constance Allegra Savarese; three sons and daughters-in-law, Philip J. and Susan Savarese of Manahawkin, Joseph A. and Kathleen Savarese of Jupiter, Fla., and Michael A. and Rachel Savarese of Oceanport; a sister and brother-in-law, Theresa and Jack Ronan of Brick; and five grandsons. Barbara J. Meshkowitz
Mrs. Meshkowitz, 58, of Eatontown died Oct. 29 at St. Barnabas Hospice, Long Branch. Born in Plainfield, she resided in the Lincroft section of Middletown prior to moving to Eatontown 32 years ago. Mrs. Meshkowitz was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Dorothea’s Roman Catholic Church, Eatontown. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Lawrence "Larry" P. Meshkowitz; a son, Michael D. Meshkowitz of Eatontown; and two cousins. Margaret Themann
Mrs. Themann, 96, of Cream Ridge, died Nov. 1 at Capital Health/Mercer campus, Trenton. Born in Bremerhaven, Germany, she lived in Middle Village and Farmingville, N.Y., and Fort Pierce, Fla., before moving to Cream Ridge in 1995. She was a member of the German-American Soccer Club in New York City and the Patchogue Soccer Club in Medford, N.Y., and was the former owner of the Medford Brau Haus in Medford. She was predeceased by her husband, Josef Themann, and parents, Josef and Margaret Nuevemann Boeckmann. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Harry and Elfriede Themann and Joseph and Jean Themann of Medford; a daughter, Margaret van Noordenburg of Cream Ridge; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held at the Ruland Funeral Home, Patchogue, N.Y., followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Mr. Catanzaro, 47, of Milltown died Oct. 24 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Bea Christian Catanzaro; four children, Kelly Christian, Michael J. Catanzaro III and Casey Christian, all of Milltown, and Gerianne Catanzaro of Michigan; his parents, Nellie and Michael J. Catanzaro of Milltown; a brother, John of Milltown; two sisters, Debra Ann Wayne of North Brunswick and Cheryl Joann Bonham of Millstone; and several nieces and nephews. A liturgy was offered at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Milltown. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.

Mrs. Marine, 78, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died Oct. 22 at home. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the Sayreville Board of Education. Surviving are her husband, Thomas J. Marine; two daughters, Donna Gulzeth of Brick and Joanne DellaPietro of Keyport; a son, Bill Marine of Cream Ridge; a sister, Dorothy Neafsey of Margate, Fla.; a brother, Charles Anderson of Lakewood; and two grandchildren.
