Harold W. Clough
Mr. Clough, 84, of Berkeley Township died Sept. 27 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Irvington prior to moving to Berkeley 23 years ago. He was a layout technician at Western Electric Co., Kearny, retiring after 40 years of service. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II, and received the American Theatre Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and World War II Victory Medal. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Mary Theresa Baston Clough in 2002. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Sharon Clough of Middletown; two daughters, Mary Louise Brown of Virginia, and Arlene Spencer of Denville; his sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Frank Shields of Little Ferry; one grandson; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Interment

Frances "Marie" Demarais
Mrs. Demarais, 72, of the New Monmouth section of Middletown, died Sept. 25 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Newport, R.I., she resided in Weehawken prior to moving to New Monmouth 39 years ago. Mrs. Demarais was a registered nurse at Riverview Medical Center for 17 years, retiring in 1997. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Laura Demarais of Powder Springs, Ga., and James and Cheryl Demarais of Middletown; a sister, Barbara Luistro of Newport, R.I.; and six grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
Walter B. Warmke
Mr. Warmke, 100, of Cranford died Sept. 22 at Trinitas Hospital, Elizabeth. He resided in Roselle and the Cliffwood section of Aberdeen prior to moving to Cranford several years ago. Mr. Warmke was a tool and dye maker at Thomas & Betts, Elizabeth, for several years, retiring in 1968. He was a member of the German-American Club, Plainfield. He was predeceased by his wife, Anna Bladzinski Warmke. He is survived by two daughters, Jean Homer of Sarasota, Fla., and Barbara Moskal of Long Island, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Interment
was at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Keyport. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
Daniel Charles Smith
Daniel Charles Smith, 42, of Old Bridge, formerly of Aberdeen and Keyport, died Sept. 11 at home. Surviving are his mother, Bernadette McDonald-Smith of Old Bridge; a brother, Richard H. Smith of Old Bridge; a sister, Geraldine A. Opitz of Howell; and two nephews and two nieces. Services were held at Day Funeral Home, Keyport. Interment
was in St. John’s Cemetery, Queens, N.Y.
Emily Weiss Balletta
Emily Weiss Balletta, 93, of Barnegat, formerly of Sayreville, died Sept. 10 in South Ocean County Hospital, Manahawkin. Her husband, Martin A. Balletta, died in 1989. Surviving are a daughter, Emily M. Balletta, with whom she lived; a son, Martin H. Balletta of Barnegat; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a friend, Anna Balletta of Hazlet. A Mass was offered at St. Bernadette’s Church, Parlin section of Old Bridge. Interment

William Alan Sleavin
William Alan Sleavin, 69, of East Brunswick died Sept. 11 at home. Surviving are his wife, Gail A. Liftchild Sleavin; a son, William J. of Simsbury, Conn.; two daughters, Carolyn Coppola of Holmdel and Alice E. Sleavin of East Brunswick; a sister, Linda Weiss of Floral Park, N.Y.; a granddaughter; and a nephew. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Interment

Julia McIntosh
Mrs. McIntosh, 58, of Lincoln Park died Sept. 15 at Lincoln Park Care Center. Born in New York City, she resided in Middletown prior to moving to Lincoln Park five years ago. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her parents, Mildred and Edward Babkewicz of Palisades Park; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Edward and Felicia McIntosh of Middletown, and James McIntosh of Harrison; her daughter, Kelly McIntosh of Old Bridge; two sisters, Ruth Carey of Chestnut Ridge, N.Y., and Mildred Ariemma of Randolph; and one grandson. A memorial service was held at Green Grove Cemetery, Keyport. Arrangements were by Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold.
Kerri Ann Angersbach Maddock
Mrs. Maddock, 33, of Brick died Sept. 28 following a battle with cancer. Born in Red Bank, she resided in Hazlet before moving to Brick eight years ago. Mrs. Maddock was a manager in the billing department at Merrill Lynch, Princeton. She was a communicant of St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her father, John Angersbach. She is survived by her husband, Donald G. Maddock; her mother, Jane Rush Tuero of Hazlet; two daughters, Morgan Nicole and Kaitlyn Amanda, both at home; three brothers, Christopher Tuero and Michael Tuero, both of Hazlet, and Bryan Tuero of North Arlington; her maternal grandmother, Janet Rush of Holmdel; her paternal grandfather, John Angersbach of Hazlet; her mother- and father-in-law, Katherine and Raymond Maddock of Hazlet; two sisters-in-law; two stepsisters; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be Oct. 2 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Day Funeral Home, Keyport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Oct. 4 at 9:15 a.m. at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church. Interment
will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Keyport.
Rosemary E. Lambertson Sommer
Mrs. Sommer, 85, of Keyport died Sept. 28 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Perth Amboy, she was a lifelong resident of Keyport. Mrs. Sommer was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. She was a member and past president of the Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 4247 Ladies Auxiliary, Keyport. She was also active with the Keyport Recreation Commission. She was predeceased by her husband, John Sommer, in 2001. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jeannette and George Ward of Orlando, Fla.; two brothers, Sidney Lambertson and Alfred Lambertson, both of Keyport; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Oct. 1 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Day Funeral Home, Keyport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Oct. 2 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, followed by entombment at St. Joseph’s Mausoleum, Keyport.
