Florence R. Regan Mylott
Mrs. Mylott, 92, of Tinton Falls, died May 25, 2007, at Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Holmdel. Born in Jersey City, she resided there until 1960, in Middletown for 18 years, and Toms River 20 years, prior to relocating to Tinton Falls. She was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold R. Mylott in 1975. She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Marietta Freeman of Red Bank, and Marilyn and Joseph Scagliuso of Tinton Falls; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Maureen Mylott of New Briton, Conn.; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Mary's Church. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to American heart Association, 1 Union St., Robbinsville 08691; or National Federation of the Blind of New Jersey, 254 Spruce St., Bloomfield 07003.

Henry "Hank" Weber

Mr. Weber, 84, of Shrewsbury, died May 22, 2007, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Baltimore, he resided in Harrison and Newark prior to relocating to Shrewsbury. He was the National Yellow Pages marketing manager at AT&T;, retiring after 35 years. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II, and became the light heavyweight boxing champion of the Signal Corps. He was predeceased by a sister, Margaret "Peggy" Waters of Spring Lake. He is survived by his wife, La Vanche "Lee" Weber; a son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Kelly Weber of Rumson; two daughters and one son-in-law, Cynthia Weber-Cleary and Denis of Glen Ridge, and Jenifer and James Zeller of Ocean; and five grandchildren. A funeral service was at Shrewsbury Presbyterian Church. Arrangements were by Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. Memorial donations may be made to Family and Children's Service, 191 Bath Ave., Long Branch 07740.

Robert E. Peterson

Mr. Peterson, 54, of Marlboro, died June 5, 2007. He owned and operated Solar Interiors Inc. in his hometown, Matawan. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Peterson was predeceased by his father, Ernest R. Peterson, in 1968; and his mother, Helen DeLoskey-Peterson, in 1999. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Janice Gawley-Peterson; two sons, Chad Peterson of Matawan and Robert Peterson of Marlboro; two daughters, Corrie and Elizabeth Peterson, both of Marlboro; a sister, Louise Webster, and her husband, John, of Matawan; and two nieces. Funeral services were held at the Waitt-Neims Funeral Home, Morganville section of Marlboro, followed by interment in Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 2550 Route 1, North Brunswick 08902.

Rita Riordan Axt

Mrs. Axt, 89, of Red Bank, died June 5, 2007, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She was a former librarian at Oceanic Library, Rumson, and Monmouth County Library, Shrewsbury. She was a communicant of Church of the Nativity, Fair Haven. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert C. Axt in 1985; a grandson, Dana R. Mortimer; and a sister, Jane Drancy. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, R. Timothy and Nora of Kingwood, Texas, Paul T. and Angelita of Brazil, and John D. and Nancy of Spring, Texas; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Kate and Thomas Bertrand of Tempe, Ariz., Susan and John Bayliss of Easton, Md., and Martha Mortimer of Bakersfield, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Church of the Nativity. Arrangements were by Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. Memorial donations may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road, Bethesda, MD 20814.

Anthony "Tony S." Scalzo

Mr. Scalzo, 81, of Rumson, died June 7, 2007, at Meridian Nursing & Rehabilitation, Red Bank. Born in Rumson, he was a lifelong resident. He was a clerk and letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, Rumson, from age 14 until retirement. He also served as a shop steward while involved in the postal union, and owned Tony's Signs, Rumson, for several years. He was a devout Roman Catholic and supported several local Catholic churches. He was a life member of the Oceanic Hook & Ladder Fire Company, Rumson. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary P. Scalzo. He is survived by a son, Frank A. Scalzo of Fair Haven; a daughter, Cathie C. Scalzo of Fair Haven; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, William and June "Peggy" Scalzo, James and Evelyn Scalzo, and Samuel Scalzo, all of Rumson; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Concetta Orechio of Long Branch, Mary Calabretta of Rumson, and Barbara and William Boccellato of the River Plaza section of Middletown; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Church of the Nativity, Fair Haven. Interment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. Memorial donations may be made to Oceanic Hook & Ladder Fire Company, West River Road, Rumson 07760.

Joseph T. Simoniello

Mr. Simoniello, 62, of Hazlet, died June 12, 2007, at home. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Holmdel, Red Bank, and the West Keansburg section of Hazlet prior to relocating to Hazlet six years ago. He was an electrical engineer at AT&T;, Short Hills, and for several other companies, retiring in 1986. Mr. Simoniello is survived by his wife of 12 years, Rosalie Auriemma Simoniello; a son, Paul Simoniello of Holmdel; a daughter, Denise Aquinas of Colts Neck; a stepdaughter, Sharon Roberts of Keyport; two stepsons, William Swartz of Parlin and James Swartz IV of Old Bridge; and 13 grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. Entombment was at Holmdel Mausoleum. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.

Louise Talerico

Mrs. Talerico, 92, of Red Bank, died June 16, 2007, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Long Branch, she resided there prior to relocating to Red Bank. She was a retired sewing machine operator employed at several area garment makers. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of West Side Hose Company, Red Bank. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Talerico Sr. in 1984. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Bruno and Roberta Talerico of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Joseph and Linda Talerico of Oceanport; a daughter and son-in-law, Angelina and John Swenson of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a brother, Richard Renzella of Long Branch; a sister, Anne Guarino of Toms River; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A Mass of Christian Burial was at St. Anthony's Church. Entombment was at Mount Olivet cemetery Mausoleum, Middletown. Arrangements were by Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. Peter Jones

Mr. Jones, 72, of Red Bank, died June 26, 2007, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Albany, N.Y., he resided in Cooperstown, N.Y., and Highlands, prior to relocating to Red Bank seven months ago. A graduate of Hamilton College of Ithaca, N.Y., he wrote more than 40 books including the historical novel "Rebel in the Night" commissioned by the state of New York. He was also affiliated with Around the Corner Art Center, Freehold. He was an avid sailor and crewed in an America's Cup race. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Francesca Jones of Worcester, Mass.; a brother, David Jones of Cooperstown, N.Y.; a sister, Carol Loomis of Winthrop, Mass.; his companion, Elaine Smith of Freehold; and a granddaughter. Arrangements were by Freeman Funeral Homes, Freehold. Memorial donations may be made to The Women's Center, 180 Turning Lives Around, 1 Bethany Road, Hazlet 07730.

Laura E. Weld

Mrs. Weld, 82, of Eatontown, died June 21, 2007, at home. Born in Altoona, Pa., she had resided in Fair Haven and Scobeyville before moving to Eatontown in 1978. She was predeceased by her husband, Everett V. Weld Sr., in 1997, and a son, Everett V. Weld Jr., in 1999. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Gronostajski of Freehold; a granddaughter; and a great-grandson. Services were held under the direction of the Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold. Memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, New Jersey Chapter, 200 Middlesex Turnpike, Iselin 08830.

Mary C. Washburn Pollard

Mrs. Pollard of the Kendall Park section of South Brunswick died June 27, 2007. Born in Marion, Mass., she relocated to Kendall Park in 1961. She was a teacher in the South Brunswick School District for more than 26 years, retiring in 1996. She was a communicant of St. Augustine of Canterbury Roman Catholic Church, Kendall Park. She was a member of the South Brunswick Education Association, New Jersey Education Association, and South Brunswick Woman's Club. She served on the South Brunswick Board of Welfare. She enjoyed knitting, and created clothes for the Salvation Army's Christmas doll program. She also enjoyed bridge. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Richard; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Susan and Richard Hahn of West Chester, Pa., Melissa Pollard of Plainsboro, and Sarah and David Alexander of Riverdale, N.Y.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Heidi Pollard of Oceanport, , and Stephen and Wendy Pollard of Madison, Conn.; and 10 grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Augustine's Church. Arrangements were by M.J. Murphy Funeral Home, Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick. Lois L. Nicola

Mrs. Nicola, 67, of Long Branch, died June 26, 2007, at Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation, Red Bank. Born in Brewer, Maine, she resided in Brick prior to relocating to Long Branch two years ago. She was a housekeeper at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She was predeceased by her mother, Irene Gonyer. She is survived by a son, David J. Nicola of Long Branch. Entombment was at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. Memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Association, P.O.
