Sylvester A. "Skip" Bellezza
Mr. Bellezza, 85, of the Belford section of Middletown, died April 19, 2007, at Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation of Red Bank. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he resided in Keansburg prior to relocating to Belford 46 years ago. He owned and operated Bellezza Brothers Gulf, Hazlet, for 30 years, retiring in 1986. he served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was predeceased by a daughter, Teresa Bellezza. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Catherine; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lorraine and Bill Kelleher of Shrewsbury, and Jayne and Michael Weingarten of Neptune City; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Barbara Bellezza of the Leonardo section of Middletown; two sisters, Sabina Donaruma of Hazlet, and Lorraine Bellezza of Mays Landing; a brother, Anthony Bellezza of Florida; and seven grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Burial

Janet K. Cusick
Mrs. Cusick, 76, of Fair Haven, died April 14, 2007, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She resided in Atlantic Highlands prior to relocating to Fair Haven 56 years ago. She was a 50-year communicant of church of the Nativity, Fair Haven. She enjoyed time with her family. She was also an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves, and enjoyed NASCAR racing. She was predeceased by a brother, Frank. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Thomas P.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Valerie of Fair Haven, and Kevin and Marilyn of Neptune; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Charles Pickler of the Belford section of Middletown, Laurie and Don Garrido of Wall, and Colleen and William Schulster of Fair Haven; a sister, Joyce Mount of the Navesink section of Middletown; and 11 grandchildren. Robert Streeter Pearson
Mr. Pearson, 62, of Little Silver, died March 9, 2007, at home. Raised in Mountain Lakes, he relocated to Shrewsbury in 1958. He co-owned and managed Homestead Pharmacy, Long Branch, and co-owned Barons Drug Store, Westfield. He served as a medic in the 11th Infantry Brigade of the Americale Division during the Vietnam War in Chu Lai. He was a member of All Souls Unitarian Church, New York City. He was an avid tennis player and enjoyed golf, running marathons and travel. He was predeceased by a brother Ladley Keyes Pearson. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Higgins Pearson who he married
in 1968; his children, Jill Hope and Ladley Keith; a sister, Judy Kifer of Fairfax, Va.; a sister-in-law, Eileen Andrews of Blue Bell, Pa.; a brother-in-law, James Higgins of Montpelier, Vt.; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service was officiated by Galen Guengerich of the All Souls Church. Arrangements were by John E Day Funeral Home, Red Bank.
Raymond Frank
Mr. Frank, 81, of Toms River, died April 6, 2007, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in the West Farms area of Howell, he had lived in Freehold from 1930 to 1982. Mr. Frank was a painting and decorating contractor in Monmouth County before retiring in 1958. He attended Freehold Borough schools and graduated from the New York School of Interior Design. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a tech sergeant stationed in the Philippines and served in the 541 Parachute Infantry Regiment. Mr. Frank was predeceased by a son, Randal Joseph Frank, in 1991; a sister, Catherine Amatao, in 2002; and a brother, Herbert H. Frank Sr., in 2003. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Minnie Kurman Frank; a son, Raymond Gustave Frank of East Brunswick; two brothers, Kenneth Frank of Freehold and Harvey H. Frank of Avon; and two granddaughters. Services were held at Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, 412 Main St., Toms River, followed by burial at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township. Joan E. Peters
Mrs.. Peters, 70, of Little Silver, died Feb. 13, 2007, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Orange, she resided in Little Silver several years. She was an active volunteer in area schools and service organizations, and was a member and former president of The Alumnae Group. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, John E. Peters; and a son, John C. Peters of New York City. A funeral liturgy was held at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. John B. Fahy
Mr. Fahy, 81, of Oceanport, died Feb. 24, 2007, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Huntington, N.Y., he resided in Little Silver prior to relocating to Oceanport. He was vice president at Collegiate Cap and Gown Company where he was employed 40 years, retiring in 1996. He also was the builder, owner and proprietor of an area hotel and restaurant. He graduated the Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, N.Y., and served as a merchant seaman in the North Atlantic and North Sea during World War II. He continued working at sea, and was one of the youngest First Mates on commercial ocean liners. He was an avid sailor and horseman. He was predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Adeline Fahy; and two sisters, Margaret Fahy and Florence Goldsmith. He is survived by a sister, Maude Fahy of Red Bank; two sons, Peter Fahy and John Brooks Fahy, both of Oregon; three daughters, Margaret Annarella of the Locust section of Middletown, Jeannie Hartnett of Brielle, and Kathryn Grobben of Red Bank; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Visitation will be March 1 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank, with a funeral service at 8:30 p.m. Burial
will be March 2 at 10:30 a.m. at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
Virginia Gabrielle Howatt Savage
Mrs. Savage, 86, of Toms River, died Feb. 17, 2007. Born in Kearny, she resided there prior to relocating to Toms River in 1982. She was an assistant to the Town Treasurer of Kearny for 22 years, retiring in 1982. Prior to that, she was a secretary in McKiernan Terry Corporation, Harrison. She enjoyed travel with her husband and vacationed on every continent except South America. She was predeceased by her husband, William Francis Savage. She is survived by a son, William E. Savage of Apex, N.C.; three daughters, Virginia Savage Fay of Manchester, Winifred Savage Guariglia of Waretown, and Jayne Savage Carmody of Little Silver; two sisters, Gloria Howatt Hughes of Virginia, and Suzanne Howatt of Massachusetts; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Alys Jindracek
Mrs. Jindracek, 83, of Middletown, died Feb. 17, 2007, at home. Born in New Jersey, she resided in Monmouth County, Vero Beach, Fla., and Marlboro, prior to relocating to the Lincroft section of Middletown 10 years ago. She was a secretary at the Marlboro State Hospital for 15 years, retiring in the early 1980s. She served with the U.S. Navy at Pearl Harbor during World War II. She was predeceased by her husband, Otto in 1979; and a son, Glen in 2005. She is survived by a sister, Marie Janwick of Englishtown; and a close friend, Sharon McCormick of Tinton Falls. Burial

Maryann Menna
Mrs. Menna, 84, of Long Branch, died Feb. 2, 2007, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She was a lifelong resident of Red Bank, prior to relocating to Long Branch five years ago. She was a seamstress for Sigmund Eisner, Red Bank, during World War II. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She enjoyed time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Albert; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Kathy of Red Bank; a daughter, Linda Alberto of Long branch; a brother, Thomas Mazzaroppi of the Belford section of Middletown; two sisters, Bessie LoPresti of California, and Alice Kaney of Ohio; and two grandchildren. Ethel Lee Maples
Mrs. Maples, 57, of Freehold, died Jan. 15, 2007, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township, after battling a long illness. She was born in New Brunswick and had lived in Englishtown before moving to Freehold 41 years ago. Prior to retiring a year ago, she was a certified nurse aide at the John L. Montgomery Medical Home, Freehold Township, for 20 years. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, Freehold, and was also an avid bingo player. Mrs. Maples was predeceased by her parents, Essie Mae Herbert Maples and Joseph Baskerville. Surviving are four sons, Lynn Chris Billingsley, Ellis Billingsley and William Craig Billingsley, all of Freehold, and Melvin Jermaine Billingsley of Plainfield; a daughter and son-in-law, Vatrina Anne Billingsley and Douglas Oglesby; seven brothers and four sisters-in-law, Joseph Maples of Detroit, Harry and Marie Maples of New Brunswick, Robert and Sandra Maples of Farmingdale, Frank and Mae Maples of Piscataway, Nathaniel Maples of Shrewsbury, Edward and Mary Maples of Freehold, and Gregory Maples of Lakewood; a sister, Margaret Marlow of Lakewood; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many friends and extended family members. Funeral services were held at the New Hope Baptist Church, followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.
