A Mass for Richard T. Michalowski Sr., 82, of Verona will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Verona. Arrangements are by the Prout Funeral Home, Verona.
Mr. Michalowski died Sunday in Mountainside Hospital, Glen Ridge.
He was an accountant with Western Electric in Kearny for 43 years before retiring in 1984.
A first lieutenant in the Army during World War II, Mr. Michalowski served in Europe and was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
In 1953, he graduated from St. Peter’s College in Jersey City with a bachelor of science degree in accounting.
Mr. Michalowski was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6255 in Cedar Grove and the Verona Senior Citizens.
Born in Jersey City, he moved to Verona in 1984.
Surviving are sons, Richard T. Jr. and Dr. Donald Michalowski; a daughter, Mrs. Rosemary Joannidis, and five grandchildren.
Lee Mergentime Jr.

Lee Mergentime Jr., 85, of Manalapan Township died yesterday in CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. today in the Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan.
Mr. Mergentime owned Mergentime Inc., New York City, purveyors of wholesale produce for 55 years before retiring in 1990.
Born in New York City, he lived in Brooklyn before moving to Manalapan 19 years ago.
Surviving are a son, Lee; a brother, Max, and two grandchildren.
Meyer Melnikoff of Verona, Goldman-Sachs asset manager, 83

Services for Meyer Melnikoff, 83, of Verona will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow in Temple Sholom of West Essex, 760 Pompton Ave., Cedar Grove. Arrangements are by the Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
Mr. Melnikoff died Monday in Claridge House I, Verona.
He was the pension management asset manager with Goldman-Sachs in New York City for 10 years before retiring in 1990.
Earlier, he had been a senior officer with the Prudential Insurance Co., Newark, for 42 years. He helped to develop the PRISA asset management portfolio to separate real estate pension assets.
Mr. Melnikoff was a graduate of Montclair State College. He passed the 10 actuarial exams and became a fellow of the Society of Actuary.
He was a trustee of Kean College, Union, and served on the board at Montclair State University.
Born in Brooklyn, he lived in Millburn before moving to Verona 18 years ago.
Surviving are his wife, Elaine; a son, Peter; daughters, Mrs. Susan Sibley and Dr. Barbara Melnikoff; a sister, Mrs. Roslyn Thaler, and two grandchildren.
Evaristo Melendez

Services for Evaristo Melendez, 66, of Elizabeth will be at 9 a.m. Friday in the Gorny & Gorny Funeral Home, 330 Elizabeth Ave., Elizabeth.
Mr. Melendez, who died Sunday at home, was a mechanic with Avis Car Rental Co., Newark, for more than five years, retiring in 1991.
He served in the Army during the Korean War.
Born in Puerto Rico, Mr. Melendez lived in Elizabeth for more than 10 years.
Surviving are his wife, Olga; sons, Efrain, Evaristo Jr. and Anthony Melendez and Duberney, Davincy and Luis Ruiz; daughters, Mrs. Providencia Gonzalez and Mrs. Carmen Rodriguez; brothers, Manuel, Rafael, Fernando, Cruz and Pedro; sisters, Amelia, Cristina and Antonia; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services for Mrs. Bertha K. McGlade, 89, of Hazlet will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow in the Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport.
Mrs. McGlade, who died Sunday in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel, was a member of the Middle Road Village Seniors Club, Hazlet.
Born in the Bronx, she lived in Kearny before moving to Hazlet 26 years ago.
Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Lurline Waring, Mrs. Diane Wilson and Mrs. Louise Wolfkiel; a son, John Dulany; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Alicia McCauley

A Mass for Mrs. Alicia McCauley, 64, of West Orange will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, West Orange. Arrangements are by the Codey Funeral Home, Orange.
Mrs. McCauley, who died Monday in the Bellaire Nursing Home, Linden, was an executive secretary with the CNA Insurance Co. in Cedar Knolls for 30 years before retiring in 1984.
Born in East Orange, she lived in West Orange for many years.
Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Jacqueline Mogavero and Mrs. Melissa Civitano, and four grandchildren.
