Dorothy Sullivan Coscia
Mrs. Coscia, 76, of Atlantic Highlands, died Aug. 17, 2007, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in New York City, she resided there prior to relocating to Atlantic Highlands in 1969. She was a wardrobe supervisor at Joffrey Ballet Company, New York City, for more than 30 years, retiring 12 years ago. She was a member of the Theatrical Wardrobe Union Local 764, New York City. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack in 1968. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Ann Coscia of Red Bank; two daughters and sons-inlaw, Arlene and Jules Mayeur of Montross, Va., and Cathy and Ron Lynch of Highlands; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Burial

Catherine T. Dwyer
Mrs. Dwyer, 89, of Tinton Falls, died July 29, 2007, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Philadelphia, she resided in little Silver since 1962 prior to relocating to Tinton Falls. She was a retired clerk typist at Fort Monmouth for 20 years. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She enjoyed the ocean, needlework, reading, and travel. She was predeceased by her husband, William Dwyer in 19671; and two brothers, Jack and Bill Campbell. She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Rosemary and Charles Mothershed of Delran, Nancy Coquel of Little Silver, and Kathleen and Charles Hansen of Ocean; and five grandchildren. Alice P. Cranston Rotchford
Mrs. Rotchford, 77, of Red Bank, died Aug. 10, 2007, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she resided in Westfield prior to relocating to Monmouth County in 1976. She was a member of Church of the Nativity, Fair Haven, where she was also a member of the Nifty Fifty Club. She also volunteered with St. Alfonso's Auxiliary, Love Inc. as a mentor. She was active in various charities and began and chaired the first can cer society ball in Union County. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, George T. and Robert F.; and a daughter, Alice. She is sur vived by four daughters and one son-in-law, Beth Rotchford of Belmar, Patricia and Carl Christiansen of the Oakhurst section of Ocean Township, Kathleen Pimpinella of Oceanport, and Bernadette Rotchford of Asbury Park; a son and daughterin law, Philip and Janet Rotchford of Rumson; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at Church of the Nativity. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Mid dletown.
Frank "Terry" Magovern
Mr. Magovern of Rumson died July 30, 2007. He was raised in Belmar. He was a per - sonal assistant to Bruce Springsteen the past 23 years. He was a four-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, completed Special Warfare Train - ing, and specialized in underwater demolition work. He was also assigned to work with the Mercury Space Program and the seven original Mercury astronauts. He was involved with the charity Holiday Express, and the Light of Day for Parkinson's disease research. He founded the Joan Dancy and Pals ALS support group at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, for his former fiancé that lost a battle to the disease. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Michael Guinan of Eatontown; a son and daughter-in-law, Sean and Andrea Magovern of Avon; six brothers, Dennis Magovern, Richard Magovern, Robert Magov ern, James Magovern, Brian Magovern and Patrick Magovern; two sisters, Lee Boydman and Mary Magovern; and five grandchildren. A memorial service was held at United Methodist Church of Red Bank. Arrangements were by Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. Lucy Scialfa Buono
Mrs. Buono, age 94, of Long Branch, died Aug. 17, 2007, at Jersey Shore Center, Eatontown. Born in Gagliano, Sicily, she moved to the United States at age 9, and resided in Long Branch. She was a retired children's sample dressmaker at Bentex Corporation, Freehold. Prior to that, she was a seamstress. She was a communicant of the Church of Precious Blood, Monmouth Beach, and attended Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. She was a member of the North Long Branch PTA, Long Branch Community Center, and the Active Seniors of Long Branch. She was predeceased by her husband John C. Buono, and a brother, Joseph Scialfa. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Dr. James Fiasconaro of Oceanport, and Joan and Anthony Chidoni of Los Angeles; two sisters, Frances West and Minnie Calcaterra, both of West Long Branch; and four granddaughters. Patsy P. Caprioni
Mr. Caprioni, 83, of Freehold, died July 21, 2007, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Red Bank, he had resided in Freehold since 1945. Mr. Caprioni was a sheet-metal engineer at Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital from 1948 until his retirement in 1986. He was also an accomplished musician who performed with his band, the Pat Capri Orchestra, along the Jersey Shore. A World War II veteran, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps, 3rd Division, 21st Regiment. He participated and was wounded in the assault and capture of Guam, Mariana Islands, in July 1944 and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold. He was a life member of the Philip A. Reynolds Marine Detachment of the Marine Corps League, as well as a member of the American Federation of Musicians, Local No. 399. Mr. Caprioni was predeceased by his wife, Mildred Mulholland Caprioni, in 2005 and a sister, Mary. Surviving are four sons and two daughters-in-law, Barry and Barbara Caprioni of Wellington, Fla., Bruce Caprioni and Craig Caprioni, both of Freehold, and Patrick and Clemenza Caprioni of Wayne; a brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Rena Caprioni of Matawan; a sister-in-law, Irene McCormick of Freehold; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Marine Corps League services were held July 24. The funeral liturgy was celebrated the next day at St. Rose of Lima Church, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.
Mary Jane Shea
Mrs. Shea of Rumson died Aug. 11, 2007. She was a registered nurse at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, retiring in 1988. She was an avid golfer and past women's champion at Old Orchard Country Club, Eatontown. She was predeceased by her husband of 41 years Daniel M. Shea Jr. She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Margaret Shea-Caruso and husband James, Patricia Shea, and Maureen Shea-Marshall and husband Rick; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Daniel Shea, Dennis and Suzanne Shea, Jeffrey Shea, and Shawn and Danielle Shea; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Theodore E. Brenner
Mr. Brenner, 77, of Rumson, died Aug. 5, 2007. He was born in New York City. He was a licensed professional engineer in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He was the president of the national trade group, the Soap and Detergent Association, retiring in 1993. Prior to that, he served as technical director, vice president and government affairs director beginning at the company in 1963. He was an active duty officer with the U.S. Air Force from 1952-59, and in the Air Force Reserve until 1975, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was a communicant of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Rumson. He served for nine years on the Rumson and Rumson-Fair Haven Regional Boards of Education. His was a life member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, fellow of the American Public Health Association, and diplomate of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers. He was predeceased by three sons, Theodore Jr., Mark and Michael. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Maria "Jill"; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Lydia, and Christopher and Marcy, all of Fair Haven; a daughter, Elisabeth "Bird" of Australia; a sister, Suzanne Caffrey of Atlantic Highlands; and five grandchildren. Gladys Ottley Smith
Mrs. Smith, 95, of Red Bank, died Aug. 8, 2007, at Care One at King James Care Center, Middletown. She was a lifelong resident of Red Bank. She was a former member of the Hook and Ladder Ladies Auxiliary of the Red Bank Fire Department. She was predeceased by her husband, Roland "Jack" Moore, Thomas Leroy Massey and LeRoy Clifford Smith; a son, Stanley "Ducky" Moore; and a great-grandson, Brian Moore. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Frederick and Janet; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Interment
