Services for Mrs. Helen M. Bartron, 70, of Newton will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St., Newton.
Mrs. Bartron, who died Wednesday in Morristown Memorial Hospital, was an assembler for Thorlabs in Newton for six years before retiring in 1998.
Born in Sussex, she was a lifelong resident of Sussex County, most recently living in Newton.
Surviving are a son, Melvin Wayne Jr.; daughters, Deborah Rude, Helen Trinca and Patricia Wolfe; brothers, Ethan, Robert, Lyn and James Wright; sisters, Jean Richards, Melcena Crawn and Carol McNulty; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Vincent Edward Diak

Memorial services will be scheduled for Vincent Edward Diak, 85, of Hopatcong, who died Wednesday at home. Arrangements are by Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, Newton.
Mr. Diak was a pressman with Reynolds Metals in Harrison before retiring.
A technical sergeant in the Army Air Force during World War II, he was a gun and torpedo instructor with the Flying Tigers of the 14th Air Force Division in Burma and China. He received two Bronze Stars.
Born in Woonsocket, R.I., Mr. Diak lived in Harrison before moving to Hopatcong in 1988.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Anna; a son, Vincent E. Jr.; a daughter, Vivian; a brother, George, and sisters, Wilma Diak and Marilyn Thompson.

BEAVER DAM, Wis. -- Mrs. Marjorie Alpaugh, 80, of Beaver Dam, a former New Jersey resident, died here Monday in the Beaver Dam Care Center. Arrangements are by Murray Community Funeral Home, Beaver Dam.
Mrs. Alpaugh was a secretary with Alpaugh Advertising, Westwood, N.J., and Cranford, N.J., a company owned and operated by her late husband, Lawrence, for many years before retiring.
She was a treasurer and reading room volunteer at Christian Science Church, Westfield, N.J.
Born in Hoboken, N.J., she lived in Teaneck, N.J., Westwood, Cranford and Toms River, N.J., before moving to Beaver Dam in 1998.
Charles H. Wilkes

Services for Charles H. Wilkes, 70, of Irvington will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Stephen J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, 60 North Beverwyck Rd., Lake Hiawatha.
Mr. Wilkes, who died Thursday in Irvington General Hospital, was a stock clerk with the New Jersey Tobacco Co., Newark, for more than 20 years before retiring in 1985. Earlier, he had been a stock clerk with R&S Strauss Automotive in Newark and Union.
Mr. Wilkes served in the Army Reserves during peacetime.
Born in Montclair, he lived in West Caldwell, Irvington and Florida before returning to Irvington several years ago.
Surviving are a brother, Walter Joe, and a sister, Ruth Ann Liss.

Mrs. Dang Kim Tran, 54, of Cedar Grove died yesterday at home.
A Buddhist service will be at 8 a.m. Wednesday in Shooks Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Ave., Cedar Grove.
Mrs. Tran was a member of the Couples Club at the Community Church of Cedar Grove.
Born in Rach Gia, Vietnam, she came to Cedar Grove in 1980.
Surviving are her husband, Minh Tiet; daughters, Ly Thi Tran-Osowski, Quyen N. and Thanh N.; sons, Thit M., Thuan M., Hien M. and Tai M.; her mother, Chinh Thi Lam, and brothers, Chisu and Quan Ngo.

A Mass for Miss Sophie J. Basara, 88, of Brick will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Our Lady of Peace Church, Normandy Beach. Arrangements are by the Pable-Evertz Funeral Home, Point Pleasant.
Miss Basara, who died Thursday at home, was a secretary with Diehl Manufacturing Co., Finderne, for many years before retiring in 1968.
A native of Elizabeth, she moved to Brick in 1969.
Surviving are sisters, Stephanie Basara and Lillian B. Solga.
