Robert C. Kuhn, 83, died on Friday January 10th at his home. He was born and raised in Newark, NJ and has lived in Hillsborough for the past 50 years. Robert retired from Permacel Co. in North Brunswick, NJ where he was an accountant. He was an Army Veteran who served during the Korean War. Robert was a member of the Hillsborough Rescue Squad and was also on the Board of Directors of the Somerset Branch of the American Red Cross. Surviving are his wife of 57 years Vesta (Jantzen) Kuhn, his daughter Dr. Adelaide Kuhn of Hopewell and his grandson Robert Nigel Bates. Norman Jack Walter, 86
Mr. Walter was a retired public school educator in Hightstown, NJ, completing 30 years as a teacher, administrator and athletic coach. Additionally, he served the Borough of Hightstown as a councilman and on other boards and commissions for many years.
Norman Jack Walter, 86, of Wilmington, NC, died Sunday, December 22, 2013, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington. He was born in Philadelphia, PA, April 30, 1927, son of the late Louis F. Walter, Jr. and Wilhelmina Widmann Walter. Mr. Walter was a retired public school educator in Hightstown, NJ, completing 30 years as a teacher, administrator and athletic coach. Additionally, he served the Borough of Hightstown as a councilman and on other boards and commissions for many years. He was a graduate of The Williamson Free School of Mechanical Trades in Media, Pa, The College of New Jersey, Trenton, where he earned BA and MA degrees in Industrial Education and Technology, and Rider University, Trenton, NJ, School Administration. As a teenager, Mr. Walter followed his two older brothers into the United States Navy during World War II. He participated with U.S. Amphibian Forces in the South Pacific (two campaigns) plus landing in Japan. He was reactivated by t he U.S. Navy during the Korean War, serving on the battleship U.S.S. New Jersey BB62 off the coast of Korea. Mr. Walter was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hightstown, NJ and St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Wilmington, NC. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, a Shriner, and life member of Arab Shrine Club in Wilmington. He had life memberships in the American Legion Post 10, VFW Post 5700, DAV Chapter 11, and U.S.S. New Jersey BB62 Veterans, Inc. Mr. Walter is survived by his wife of sixty years, Helen Poulos Walter; a daughter, Charisse Walter Sary of Clarksville, MD; a sister, Grace W. Sears of Winchester, VA; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held Friday, December 27, 2013, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. Interment

Rosemarie Kainz
Rosemarie Kainz, 79, died on January 3, 2014. She was born a German in the Sudetenland of Czechoslovakia on December 28, 1934 to Hilda Kainz Laudon and was raised in the town of Rottach-Egern in the Bavarian alps of Germany. She loved ice-dancing, hiking in the mountains and most of all horseback riding on her beloved horse, Princess. In her early twenties, she came to the United States to work for Mr. and Mrs. William Bristol in Princeton and ultimately made a home for herself in Coopersburg, PA. Hard working, determined and self-taught in many skills, she touched the lives of many. She was a talented cook who could also sew and knit beautifully. Her heart was generous, her laugh infectious and she gave freely of herself to help others. She loved children and dogs and sang with a beautiful voice. She was predeceased by her sister, Hildegard, and nephew, Karl. She is survived by her sister, Elfi Kirchberger; her nieces and nephews, Florian, Klaus, Susanne, M ichael and Gabi; and her grandnieces and grandnephews, Zoe, Leonie, Rosalie, Stefanie, Sabrina and Ronny and other loving family and friends. A service for the family will be held in Rottach-Egern, Germany. Richard K. Cass Sr.
Richard K. Cass Sr, aged 66, lost his battle with cancer on Thursday, January 16, 2014. Born on May 17, 1947 in Huntington, Long Island; Richie moved to the Hightstown/ East Windsor area in NJ as a young child where he lived for almost 60 years eventually seeking warmer pastures and recently moving to Denver, North Carolina. Before relocating to North Carolina, Richie was a member of the Rose of Sharon Lutheran Church in Wrightstown, NJ. He is survived by his wife, Julie Daciek Stout Cass of Denver, NC, his son Richard K. Cass Jr. of Cream Ridge, NJ, his daughter Bobbi Jo Cass of Charlotte, NC and his step-son Shaun Stout of New Egypt, NJ. He is also survived by his grandchildren Christopher, Kristina, Lyle, Douglas (DJ), Tyler and Cheyenne, his sister and brother-in-law Cheryl and Larry Sterling of Ocala, FL, his sister and brother-in-law Deborah and John Procassini of Hightstown, NJ as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Joan Orndorff Cass and Robert William Cass and younger brother Johnathon. Richie was extremely proud of his military service having served his country with the Navy on the USS Guam. He also had a deep passion for stock car racing where he primarily raced at East Windsor Speedway, Bridgeport Speedway and most recently at New Egypt Speedway; where he had many feature wins running his famous number 75C. He also loved being an Owner/ Operator for Richard Cass Trucking and Racing and loved spending weekends on the water on his many various boats. Viewing for friends and family was held at Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown on Tuesday, January 21st from 6 - 9 pm and again Wednesday, January 22nd from 5 - 8 pm followed by a Service at 8pm where friends and family were welcome to share their fond memories of Richie. A military burial will be held at BG William C. Doyle Veterans cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ on Friday January 24, 2014. Janet Adams Fearon
Janet Adams Fearon, 74, of Princeton, New Jersey, died peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on January 17, 2014. Mrs. Fearon was born January 27, 1939 to Margaret Baker Adams and the Reverend Doctor Arthur Merrihew Adams. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, the Reverend Doctor H. Dana Fearon, III, their children Prof. James D. Fearon (Teal Derrer) and Mrs. Mary Fearon Jack (Wellborn Jack, III), and her five grandchildren, Benjamin and Sadie Fearon, and William, Spencer, and Sarah Jack. Her brother, the Reverend Doctor Robert Merrihew Adams lives in Princeton, New Jersey with his wife, the Reverend Doctor Marilyn McCord Adams. In her early years Mrs. Fearon lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and in Albany and Rochester, New York. She graduated from Columbia School for Girls in 1956 and enrolled at Wellesley College, where she majored in history. After graduating in 1960, she moved, as a new bride, to Lawrenceville, New Jersey, where her husband was installed as the minister of the Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville. Her contributions to that church were legion. She involved herself in numerous bible study groups, served as a Sunday school and vacation bible school teacher for many years, sang in the choir, and was a member of ''Create and Relate.'' She was a valued member of the church's Women's Association, where she established many meaningful lifelong friendships. She took on many projects including developing affordable daycare and housing for low income families in Lawrence Township, creating a memorial garden at the Church, and redesigning meeting rooms, kitchens, and offices. A natural architect, she particularly enjoyed serving on planning committees for the buildings and grounds. Her ability to translate ideas into concrete building plans while maintaining the historical integrity of the buildings was greatly appreciated. Mrs. Fearon believed passionately in the importance of education. She helped found the Church's weekday nursery school and taught there for thirteen years. In 1979, she began a career in Princeton as the founding director of the Charlotte Wilson Newcombe Foundation, whose grants have funded programs of scholarship and fellowship support for many thousands of college and university students. Mrs. Fearon found lasting satisfaction in the Foundation's mission of supporting a college education for young women and men who would otherwise would not be able to afford one. She led the Foundation until her retirement in 2007, and served as founding trustee until her death. A long time member of the Women's Club of Lawrenceville, Mrs. Fearon served as president of the Club and as chair of the Mary Darwin Heath Scholarship committee. She was an active member and leader of the Wellesley Club of Princeton, and for many years dedicated her time to the Wellesley-Bryn Mawr Book Sale. Known for her cheerful friendliness and hospitality, Mrs. Fearon delighted in meeting and getting to know people. She reached out to all, providing a listening ear and perceptive insight. Her kind understanding, gentle manner, and eagerness to help others came through in both brief encounters and lengthy discussions. She possessed an unfailingly positive outlook and when faced with adversity, readily found productive solutions. Her generosity of spirit and graciousness were strong, true, and deep. A woman of abundant energy, Mrs. Fearon loved a challenge, whether it was a design project or the creation of a foundation. She had a remarkable intellect and curious mind. She read avidly, with a passion for history. For several decades Mrs. Fearon spent part of the summer in Big Moose Lake, New York. She loved the Adirondack mountains, lakes and landscape. She enjoyed canoeing and boating on Big Moose Lake and walking its trails; here she found herself truly relaxed and with full heart. In her later years, she enjoyed summer vacations in Hyannis Port and West Barnstable, Massachusetts on Cape Cod. These were highlighted by wonderful visits of family and friends. In her spare time she enjoyed playing tennis, golf, and Mah-Jong with a group of longtime friends. Mrs. Fearon often said that she felt blessed to have lived a life filled with love, kindness, faith, dear friends, meaningful work, and a close, loving family. She adored her children and grandchildren, and she delighted in an enduring, happy, and loving marriage to her greatest friend and champion. She will be dearly missed by many. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, February 1st at 11 o'clock in the morning at The Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville. Joan Little Treiman, 87
Joan Little Treiman, 87, of Princeton died at her home in Princeton on November 30, 2013.Born in Russell County, Kansas to the late John and the late Blanche (Bishop) Little, she was educated at Colorado Women's College and University of Chicago. While studying in Chicago, she worked at the Orthogenic School. She met Sam Treiman in Chicago, and they married
in Wichita, Kansas in 1952. They moved to Princeton, where Sam was a professor in the Physics Department for many years. Joan received her Ed.D. at Rutgers University in 1973 and worked as a psychologist in the West Windsor-Plainsboro and Montgomery Township schools. Joan was a world traveler, bird watcher, and member of numerous poetry, theatre, and book groups. She was active with the Senior Resource Center, Community Without Walls, League of Women Voters, and Audubon Society. Joan is survived by her children Rebecca Treiman, Katherine Treiman, and Tom Treiman; their spouses Chuck McGibbon, John Britton, and Nancy Akerley; her brother John Little; her sister-in-law Janet Little, wife of her late brother Bill Little;and her grandchildren Joseph, Robert, Sarah, Eric, Anna, Greg, and Bram. A memorial service will be held 2 - 4 pm Saturday January 25 at the Palmer House, 1 Bayard Lane, Princeton. Patricia A. Jacobs Haydu
Patricia was born in Brooklyn, New York on Friday, August 13, 1937 and passed peacefully from this life on January 5, 2014 in her home in St. Augustine, Florida after a gradual decline in health. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family. She spent most of her life in the Princeton, New Jersey area, graduating from Princeton High in 1956. She had fun during her high school years being a member of the Slew Foot Three and loved being a Color Guard. Patricia worked for Johns-Manville before beginning her family. She also enjoyed teaching at Montgomery High and worked as supervisor for the 1980 US Census. Patricia made Saint Augustine in Florida her home since 1995, where she left her mark as the Guiding Light and Chairperson of Bronz-Glow Technologies, Inc. Patricia had a magnificent spirit and spending time with her always made you feel special. She was a people person and everyone who met her and was lucky enough to spend time with her was inspired by her vibrant faith, her bright smile and vivacious personality. She was an inspiration in so many ways to all. She loved to see new sites and meet new people and was fortunate enough to be able to travel to almost all 50 states including Alaska and Hawaii as well as Bermuda, Aruba, Curacao, St. Lucia, Puerto Rico, Mexico, London, Paris, Holland, Belgium and Spain. Active in the Catholic Church, she was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and had held the office of President of the Columbiettes. She embroidered unique and beautiful baptismal robes which she donated to the church. Patricia enjoyed sharing the story of Jesus and appeared as Martha in The Passion Play in St. Augustine, FL. She also enjoyed teaching and preparing children for their First Holy Communion which she did for many years both in New Jersey and Florida. Patricia was involved in the North Florida MS Society and spent many years volunteering for numerous events. The highlight being the MS Bike Ride where she awarded medals at the finish line. The youngest daughter of June and George Walker, she was predeceased by her four sisters as well as both of her husbands, John J. Jacobs, Jr. and Robert Haydu. Patricia's memory is cherished and her amazing personality will forever be in the hearts of her four children (and spouses): Darlene A. (Robert) Gill of Palm Coast, FL; Linda L. C. Gordon Stults
C. Gordon Stults, 88, of Cranbury, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Monday, January 20, 2014 at Princeton Hospital in Plainsboro, NJ. Born in Cranbury, he lived on Station Rd. his entire life and was the third generation of his family to reside in the town. Mr. Stults was an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II. He was a farmer and also maintained the Stults Realty Co. on Main Street in Cranbury for 50 years. He was an active member of the Lions Club and an avid sailor. Predeceased by his parents, Clifford and Alma Stults; he is survived by his daughter, Linda Myers; his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Anne Stults; his brother and sister-in-law, Cliff and Hilde Stults of Bellview, Nebraska; his grandchildren, Melissa Myers, Dennis Williams, and Andrea Fischer; and his niece and nephew, Kip and Susan Stults. Jeanne Patrylo, age 92
Jeanne Patrylo, age 92, of Lake Worth, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 19, 2014. She rejoins her husband John and son David. She was born and raised in Bayonne, NJ., and spent much of her adult life raising her four sons in Manville, NJ, all active high school and college athletes and she their biggest cheerleader. She will be remembered as a strong, beautiful and caring lady whose life centered around her family, and for her wit and candor. She is lovingly remembered by her sisters Florence and Dorothy, her sons Robert and his wife Carole, Dennis and his wife Lynda (deceased), Richard and his wife Liane and her seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Barbara Faye Pierpoint, 77, of Dix, IL, died peacefully January 7, 2014 at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL. She lived in the Princeton area for over 25 years. She was born in Marting, WV and raised in Nellis, WV. She graduated from Warren Wilson High School in Asheville, NC and completed her R.N. at McMillan Hospital in Charleston, WV in 1954.She worked as a psychiatric nurse at the Payne Whitney Clinic in New York, NY and as Head Nurse at Carrier Clinic in Belle Mead, NJ. She is survived by her loving family, including one son, Terrence M. Hurley, Jr. and wife Van, of Houston, Texas; three daughters, Karen Hurley of New York, NY, Kathleen Liao and husband Frank of Princeton Junction, NJ, Maureen Riley and husband Brian of Lake Havasu City, AZ; three grandchildren, Johanna Liao, Samuel Liao, Sean Riley; two sisters, Judith Pierpoint Misoni and husband David of Big Rapids, MI, and Rebecca Jane Pierpoint Sturgill and husband James of Grass V alley, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Susan and Charles O.Pierpoint, brother Charles H. Pierpoint, grandson Matthew Riley, and beloved cousin Ralph James Keffer. Paula Margaret Morgan
Paula Margaret Morgan died January 22 in the Helene Fuld Trauma Center. A resident of Princeton for more than fifty years, Paula devoted her life to music, friends, and her church. Paula was born on August 11, 1935 in Modesto, California. A scholar of music, she earned a B.A. from Mills College, an M.A. from Columbia University, and an M.L.S. from the University of California, Berkeley. She worked for Princeton University as Music Librarian from 1964 until 2000. During her tenure, the Music Library evolved from dark stacks and cramped quarters in the basement of Firestone Library to the spacious Mendel Music Library in the Woolworth Center. This move also consolidated the Music Collection and the Music Listening Library into one patron-friendly collection and location. In her professional life, Paula was an active member of the Music Library Association. She wrote approximately 150 articles for the New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, first edition (1980), and revised and updated most of them and added some new articles for the second edition (2000). Paula also co-curated an exhibition, ''Il Caro Sassone: George Frideric Handel at Princeton, '' that was on display from September 1999 through January 2000 in Firestone Library. A musician in her own right, Paula was a singer and played the clarinet and piano. After retiring, Paula served as a volunteer for the Crisis Ministry of Princeton and Trenton and as a volunteer librarian in the Archives of the Episcopal Diocese of New Jersey. She sang in the Absalom Jones Inspirational Choir in Trinity Cathedral, Trenton. For the cathedral, she served as a lay eucharistic visitor and brought communion to the Mercer Geriatric Center. She also edited the cathedral newsletter. For many years, Paula worshipped at All Saints' Episcopal Church, Princeton, where she sang in the choir, served as a lay eucharistic minister and visitor, and was a member of the Liturgy and Music Committee. She served on the Vestry and was chair of the All Saints' Organ Committee. In December 2012, Paula was admitted to the Society of the Companions of the Holy Cross, a group of approximately seven hundred women, members of the Anglican Communion, called to live individual lives under a rule of intercessory prayer, thanksgiving, and simplicity of life with intentional concern for the unity of all God's people, God's mission in the world, and social justice. Paula is survived by her sister, Laurie Karp, in Patterson California, by the Companions of the Holy Cross, by her church family at All Saints', by her friends Marlene Lynch and Carol Sassman, both of Lambertville, NJ, and by her friend of more than forty years, the Rev. Deacon Mary Ann Jensen of Princeton, with whom she shared a home. A celebration of Paula's life will take place at All Saints' Episcopal Church, 16 All Saints Road, Princeton, NJ 08540 at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 30. Interment
