Betty J. Smith, 89
Betty J. Smith, 89 of Grove City, formerly of LaJose, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Orchard Manor in Grove City. Mrs. Smith was born November 22, 1924 in LaJose, a daughter of the late Henry and Daisy (McMaster) Michael. She is preceded in death by her husband William L. Smith on January 21, 2007. She was a member of the Grove City CMA Church. Betty was known by everyone as a friend and prayer warrior. Her interrests were other people which was cross generational. She was a woman that chose to speak words of encouragement rather than criticism. She was a supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Boys Town, Paralyzed Veterans of America and the Salvation Army. She is survived by a daughter; Marilyn LaFountain and husband Rev. Richard LaFountain, one brother; Harold Michael of Florida, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband William, she is preceded in death by a son; William Eugene Smith, one brother; Clair Michael and one sister; Helen Smith. Friends will be received from 3-8 pm Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the Waldron Funeral Home in Mahaffey. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Sunday, January 26, 2014 at the funeral home with Rev. Jerry Weisberg M.D.
Jerry Weisberg M.D.died peacefully with his family surrounding him at Capital Health Hopewell on January 24. He was born in Brooklyn NY in March 1927. He graduated from Peter Styvesant School of Science. He received his B.A. at NYU and M.S.c at Brown University, and his M.D. at the University of Buffalo. His education was interrupted during WW2 when he served in the US Navy. He completed his medical education at Hackensack University Medical Center. Dr. Weisberg was a founding member of the American College of Emergency Physicians. During his medical career, Jerry was Director of Emergency Medicine at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Director of Ambulatory Services and Emergency Medicine at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach Florida where he was also associate clinical professor of medicine, and was Director of Ambulatory Services and Emergency Medicine at St. Francis Medical Center. While in Trenton, he brought ACLS and PALS to St Francis. He devoted many hours giving lectures and bringing programs to the EMT's and paramedics of Mercer County. He is predeceased by his parents, Lena (Holt) and Rubin Weisberg, infant daughter Laurie, and sisters Sylvia (Rhodes) and Esther (Shurr). He is survived by his wife, Doris Moran Weisberg, son William Weisberg, M.D., (wife Susan), Jennifer Millner, Esq. ( husband John), Michael Weisberg M.D. (wife Erin), and his grandchildren, Alex, Bryan, Steven, Ben, David and Patricia and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his former wife, June Fromm Weisberg. After his retirement, Jerry donated his time to Volunteers in Medicine where he provided medical care to individuals without health insurance. Jerry was active in the Jewish Community Center of the Delaware Valley and served on its Board of Directors. He was a director of the Lawrence Township Democratic Club and served as a Democratic Committeeman. He was also a member of the League of Women Voters, the American Legion and the Eggerts Crossing Civic League. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 Interment

Jayne Harber Boger
Jayne Harber Boger, 60, of Fort Mill, SC passed away Monday January 27, 2014 at her home. She was born in Chattanooga and lived on Lookout Mountain, Tennessee with her parents Keith and Caroline Harber and 2 brothers. She was the consummate Mother and survived 13 family moves and 10 new homes to decorate. She has fostered countless lasting relationships in 7 different states spanning from the Carolina's to Texas, Arkansas, and New Jersey. Jayne is survived by her husband of 37 years, Phillip Boger, sons James of Wytheville, Va. Landon of Hoboken, NJ and twin daughters Raulston of Louisville, KY and Caroline of Atlanta, GA. Her children were the light of her life. A memorial service will be held on Thursday January 30 at The Palmetto Funeral Home, 2049 Carolina Place in Fort Mill. F. Ida Perna, 98, of Princeton, NJ passed away suddenly at her residence on Tuesday, January 28, 2014. Born in Pettoranello del Molise, Italy, to Erminio and Concetta Nini, Ida came to the United States in 1950 settling in Princeton. She was a homemaker and communicant of St. Paul Catholic Church in Princeton. Ida was predeceased by her beloved husband, Rocco Perna (2007), her daughter Rosina Sferra (2011) and her parents. She is survived by her son, Anthony J. Perna, with whom she lived, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Carmine "Kelly" Marotta
Carmine ``Kelly'' Marotta, Age 93, passed away at Capital Health System Fuld Campus, Wednesday November 6, 2013, surrounded by his family. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he moved to Hopewell, NJ at a young age, residing there most of his life before recently moving to Pennington NJ. Kelly was a carpenter by trade and owned a construction company before retiring over 20 years ago. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. Kelly was loved by all and nothing made him happier than spending time with family, especially his great grandchildren Courtney and Kylie McElroy, Brody Kopliner, and Carson Schooley. He also enjoyed fishing, which he took up at age 90, with his sons Jimmy and Mark. He also enjoyed sailing with his son Mike. Kelly was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years Rena who passed away in 1995. He also precedes his parents Michele and Vita Marotta and his 8 brothers and sisters. Kelly is survived by his sons Michael and his wife Diane of Seaside Heights, NJ, Jimmy and his wife Linda of Hopewell, NJ, and Mark and his wife Brenda of West Amwell, NJ. He also leaves behind grandchildren Kim Marotta, Dawn McElroy and her husband Chris, Jimmy Marotta, Nicole Schooley and her husband Zack, Mark Marotta Jr. Pamela Johns, Michael Marotta II and his wife Andrea, and great grandchildren Quinton Johns and Destina Marotta. Yibao Xu, 48
My beloved husband, Yibao Xu, Professor of Mathematics, passed away last Thursday November 7th, 2013, at 10:37 pm in Robert Wood Johnson Hospital New Brunswick, at the age of 48. Yibao was born on December 10th, 1965. He graduated from The Graduate School and University Center of the City University of New York with a Doctorate of Philosophy in the History of Science. He was a Professor of Mathematics at Borough of Manhattan Community College in The City University of New York, member of The American Mathematical Society, The Mathematical Association of America, and The History of Science Society. He was also a board member of the West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District School Board, serving on the Finance Committee and a Board of Education Liaison to Plainsboro's Planning Board. He leaves behind loving memories of him to be cherished by his wife Yongxian Yu and his sons Jonathan Xu and Alex Xu Yu. Margaret MacMurray (nee Brunn) 95
South Brunswick resident and teacher Margaret MacMurray (nee Brunn) of Daytona Beach Fla. died October 28, 2013 at Florida Memorial Hospital of coronary failure at the age of 95. She was the widow of Kenneth, who passed away in 1984. Margaret was born in Buffalo, NY in 1918 and lived most of her life in the Northeast. Margaret moved to Florida in 1981. She was a member of St Mary's Episcopal Church in Daytona Beach and an active member in its Women's Guild. She attended Centenary Junior College in New Jersey and receiver her Bachelor's degree from Hood College in Maryland. After rearing her family of six children she became a school teacher at Cambridge School in South Brunswick, New Jersey for 20 years. After retiring to Daytona Beach she was a popular substitute in the Daytona Beach School system. Margaret is survived by her children Michael in Virginia, Timothy (Wendy) in California, Helen (William Ramsey) with whom she lived with in Daytona Beach, Deirdre (Dennis Ryan) in New Jersey, Christopher (Beth) in South Carolina and Gregory (Brenda) in New Jersey and seventeen grand children and 6 great grand children. Margaret loved to travel throughout the country and Europe but most of all she loved the beach. There was rarely a day she did not go and sit on the beach for at least a few minutes. A celebration of her life will be held at St Mary's Episcopal Church in Daytona Beach at a later date.

Barbara Orr, 82, of Hopewell, wife of Philip Orr, died peacefully at home October 24, 2013. Born in Hartford, CT to Paul B. and Helen Nute, she resided in many eastern states before settling in Hopewell in 1993. A 1951 graduate of Colby Junior College, she was employed in various secretarial and administrative positions from the 1980s until her retirement in 2008 as library assistant with the Hopewell Public Library. A woman of active faith, she studied Christian theology in courses at Fairfield University and by extension from The University of the South, and served at various times on altar guilds, as lay reader and as licensed chalice bearer in Episcopal churches in five states. An avid walker as well as reader, her other major interests included knitting, nutrition and health, and all things British. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Philip Orr.

Richard A. Birkland, 61, of Bangor, PA, died Monday in his home.Rick was a long time resident of Hillsborough, NJ and grew up in Griggstown. Rick attended Franklin High School and Waynesboro College and received an Honorable Discharge from the Marine Corps. Rick spent 24 years of his career at Prudential and retired from UPS where he was a Senior Business Analyst.Rick was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his two children, Amy Weiser and Jeffrey Birkland.

Donald F. Neece, 80, of Hopewell, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 3, at home with his family. Born in Chicopee, MA, he resided in Hopewell for the last 10 years. Don was a US Army veteran and received his bachelor's degree from Western New England University. Don was employed in publishing with Dow Jones and Company for 25 years and with New Jersey Monthly for 5 years. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Pam Neece.

Joseph Raymond Matsil, 75, died October 26, 2013 at home.He was born and grew up in Rockaway Beach, NY. Joe came to Hillsborough in 1979 when he married
Elly. From 1980 to 1997 they owned Matsil's Shoe Outlet in Somerset, NJ where they specialized in children's footwear. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church where he served on the church council. Joe was predeceased by his son James (2013) He is survived by his wife Elly, his sons Joe, Bill, Scott and Mark and 11 grandchildren. Jacques Fabert, 88
Jacques Fabert, 88, of Buckingham, PA, died October 17, 2013, of natural causes. Jacques was a well-known and highly-regarded fine artist and teacher, who lived and worked in Buckingham, PA, for 41 years. He was born in Paris, France, in 1925, and studied there at l'Ecole des Beaux Arts, eventually moving to the USA in the mid 1950's. Jacques' paintings are in museums and private collections around the world. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie MacLean Fabert.
Elizabeth H. Jenney, 100
Elizabeth H. Jenney, of Newtown, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2013 at Pennswood Village. She was 100. Born in Bennington, VT, she was a daughter of the late Rollin D. and Olive Pope Jenney. Elizabeth began her career in Vermont, working as a lab technician in Bennington and Rutland. She then moved to South Hadley, MA, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Mount Holyoke College, and was later employed by the Boston University School of Medicine. She then continued her education and employment at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacology. Her career was broad and varied. Elizabeth worked for the U.S. Navy in the Bethesda Naval Medical Research Institute in the pathology department, and also as an assistant in the department of pharmacology. During World War II, she was a member of the Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service, or WAVES. Then came a move to Atlanta, GA, where she worked in the Neuropharmacology department of Emory School of Medicine at Emory University, and then to Skillman, NJ to the Department of Pharmacology at the Bureau of Research for the NJ Neuropsychiatric Institute, and later became the assistant director of the Princeton Brain Bio Center. Elizabeth also volunteered her time and expertise as a fiscal agent for the NJ Mental Health Research and Development Fund, and as the Treasurer for the Schizophrenia Foundation of NJ. In her free time, she enjoyed photography, traveling, which included trips to Europe, classical music, reading and gardening. Elizabeth is survived by her nephew:
