Frank A. Vitelli
Frank A. Vitelli of 152 Westervelt Ave., part owner of the Greenbrook Bottling Co., Green Brook Rd., died last night (Sept. 30, 1954) at home. Born in Bound Brook 60 years ago, he had lived in the borough 43 years. Mr. Vitelli's father, the late Frank A. Vitelli Sr., founded the bottling company in 1912. The present partnership, organized in 1930, consists also of four other brothers, James, Joseph, Anthony and Dennis. The deceased was a member of Ball-Kirch Post, American Legion, and a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. In addition to his brothers, he leaves his widow, Mrs. Julia Cunniff Vitelli; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Bremere of Middlesex Borough and Miss Carmella at home; four sons, Frank Jr. of Middlesex Borough, John, Joseph and Anthony at home; three grandchildren. The Scarpa Funeral Home will announce arrangements.

The funeral of Anthony J. Blahut of 726 Plum Street, who died Tuesday in St. Francis Hospital, will be held tomorrow at 8:15 a.m. from the Kowalski Funeral Home, 868 Brunswick Avenue. Requiem high mass will be celebrated at 9 in St. Joseph's Church and interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call this afternoon and evening.

FINDERNE - Carlisle Shafer, 59, of 10 Thomas St., died unexpectedly today (August 8, 1967) in his home. He had been employed by American Cyanamid in Bound Brook. Mr. Shafer was born in Mountain Top, Pa., and lived here 28 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Somerville Aerie 2137; BPO Elks, Manville Lodge 2119, and the Finderne Reformed Church. He leaves his widow, Kathryn Blahut Shafer; a son, Kenneth of the Thomas St. address; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Shafer of Zarephath; two sisters, Mrs. Zella Silett and Mrs. Irel Truitt, also of Zarephath; a brother, Olin of Virginia, and two grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Taggart-Chamberlain Funeral Home in Bound Brook. Interment
will be in Bound Brook Cemetery. The Eagle lodge will hold a service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, and the Elks lodge will hold a service at 8 p.m. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home from 2-4 and from 7-9 p.m. tomorrow and Thursday.

BRIDGEWATER - Kathryn M. Shafer, 72, of 10 Thomas St. in Finderne, died Saturday (March 6, 1982) at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. She was born in Sonman, PA., and lived in Finderne for the last 43 years. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Club of Manville. Her husband, Carlisle Shafer, died in 1967. Surviving are a son, Kenneth Shafer of Bridgewater; a brother, Walter Blahut of Plattsburgh, NY.; and two grandchildren. Services will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow in the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 E. Main St., Finderne, with the Rev. Donald J. Stager, pastor of the Finderne Reformed Church, officiating. Burial will be in Bound Brook Cemetery.

Kenneth Melvin Shafer, food broker for 40 years
BRIDGEWATER - Kenneth Melvin Shafer, 61, died Sunday (Oct. 8, 2000) at Mountainside Hospital in Montclair. Born in Somerville, he lived all his life in Bridgewater. He also maintained a home in Tuckerton where he spent weekends and summers. He was a food broker for 40 years for H.C. Boerner, which later became Marketing Specialists in Montclair. He was a graduate of Rutgers University in New Brunswick and was a member of the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity. Mr. Shafer was a former member of the Beach Haven Yacht Club. He also sold fruits and vegetables on weekends at the old Packard's Farmers' Market in Hillsborough for 38 years, until it's closing in the 1990s. He was an avid league bowler in the central New Jersey area. (details of living family members omitted) A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Taggart-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 305 E. High St., Bound Brook. There will be no calling hours.

will be in Christ Church Cemetery. Mr. Selover, father of Mrs. Beatrice Ganss of Fanwood, died Wednesday at the age of 78. His widow, and a sister also survive.
Ernest L. Marston
Westfield - Funeral services for Ernest L. Marston, 70, of 450 Mountain Ave., were held yesterday afternoon in Gray's Funeral Home with the Rev. J.L. McCorison Jr., C.C., pastor of the First Congregational Church, officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Marston died Monday in his home after a long illness. He was the husband of Mrs. Emma L. Marston.
Rev. Leonard Thomas Walsh

BUTLER, N.J., Oct 16 (AP). - The Rev. Leonard Thomas Walsh, 57, O.F.N., of St. Francis Monastery here died last night. Father Leonard came to the monastery in 1948 from St. Francis College in Brooklyn where he taught philosophy. Born in Brooklyn, he received his early education at St. Anthony's and St. Francis' Preparatory schools there, and later at St. Joseph's Seminary in Callicoon, N.Y. He was received into the Franciscan Order in 1919, and ordained to the priesthood in 1926. After a short time at St. Joseph's Church in East Rutherford, N.J., he was appointed superior of the Franciscan Monastery in Washington, where he served from 1937 to 1943. In 1943 he was assigned to the philosophy department of St. Bonaventure College of New York and later to a similar department at St. Francis College. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. William Moran of Brooklyn and Mrs. Edward J. Moran of Ridgewood, N.J.

A Mass for Ercole Marchisio, 71, one-time owner of the Marguery Restaurant, 270 Park ave., will be offered tomorrow at 10 a.m. at St. Cecilia's Church, Teaneck, N.J. He died of a heart attack at his home on Palisade ave., Englewood Cliffs.
Alex Berman
Rites were being planned today for Alex Berman, 60, president of Tad, Inc., an Elizabeth firm. He died Friday at his home in Elizabeth.
