Services for John Scott, 67, of Newark will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Jewell Funeral Home, 705 Arctic Ave., Atlantic City.
Mr. Scott, who died March 28 in Wayne General Hospital, was a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service in Newark before retiring.
He served in the Air Force during the Korean War.
Born in Atlantic City, he lived in Newark for more than 40 years.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Jeanne Davis, and a brother, Edward.

Services for Mrs. Alice Edwards of East Orange will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow in the Van Tassel Chickene Funeral Home, 337 Belleville Ave., Bloomfield.
Mrs. Edwards died Tuesday in the Northfield Manor Nursing Home, West Orange.
Born in Bristol, England, she lived in Bloomfield before moving to East Orange many years ago.
Surviving are a son, Robert J.; a daughter, Mrs. Marguerite H. Fischer; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Chanta D. Southerland, 37

Services for Miss Chanta D. Southerland, 37, a lifelong resident of Newark, will be held at 11 a.m. today in the Drew Funeral Home, 605 Sandford Ave., Newark.
Miss Southerland, who died March 28 in University Hospital, Newark, was a bus attendant employed by the Newark Board of Education for the past eight years.
Surviving are a daughter, Tashania; two sisters, Chiquita and Moody; a brother, Eric, and a grandchild.
Dollie Stradford

Services for Mrs. Dollie L. Stradford, 55, of Scotch Plains will be held at noon today in the Aenon Baptist Church, Vaux Hall. Arrangements are by the Judkins Colonial Home, Plainfield.
Mrs. Stradford, who died Friday, March 31, in the Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center, Plainfield, was an inspector for Silver Line Building Products in North Brunswick for the past 14 years.
She served as a missionary of the Aenon Baptist Church.
Born in Chester, S.C., Mrs. Stradford lived in Vaux Hall before moving to Scotch Plains 29 years ago.
Surviving are her husband, John; a daughter, Belinda; a son, Kelvin D.; her mother, Elner W. Glenn; five brothers, Michael Irvin, Haywood, William, Jesse and Columbus Glenn; two sisters, Beatrice and Elizabeth Glenn, and two grandchildren.
John W. Jensen

Services for John W. Jensen, 72, of Freehold will be held at 8 o’clock this evening in the Freeman Funeral Home, 47 E. Main St., Freehold.
Mr. Jensen, who died Tuesday at home, was an underwriting analyst for Kemper Insurance Co., Summit, for more than 30 years before retiring in 1992.
He served in the Army during World War II.
Mr. Jensen graduated from New York University.
He was a board member of the Sayreville Library and a member of the F&AM Star of Hope Lodge 430, Queens.
Born in Brooklyn, he lived in Sayreville for 38 years before moving to Freehold in 1992.
Surviving are Rose, his wife of 50 years; a son, Peter; three daughters, Mrs. Susan Nistico, Ms. Jeananne Jensen and Mrs. Kathryn Macchiaverna, and 11 grandchildren.
Roger Valente

Roger N. Valente of West Orange died yesterday in East Orange General Hospital.
A Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. tomorrow in Our Lady of the Valley Church, Orange, following the funeral from the Codey Funeral Home, 69 High St., Orange.
Mr. Valente was a machinist with the Wilco Products Co. in Orange for many years before retiring.
Born in Orange, he lived in West Orange for 62 years.
Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Elsie Valente.
George E. Vedrook

George E. Vedrook, 60, of Franklin Township died yesterday at home.
Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Highway 31, Flemington. Arrangements are by Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, Flemington.
Mr. Vedrook was the president and founder of TeeVee Money Saver Publications in Somerville since 1975.
He was a member of the Manville Elks Lodge 2119 and the Knights of Columbus Council 3001, South River.
Born in South River, he lived in Hillsborough before moving to Franklin Township in 1985.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara; three daughters, Mrs. Cindy Jenkins, Mrs. Sharon DeGhetto and Donna James-Vedrook; three sisters, Jeanette, Mrs. Irene Sayers and Mrs. Mary Rasmussen, and three grandchildren.
