Mrs. Evelyn Grace Smink, 70, of Edison died yesterday in the John F. Kennedy Medical Center, Edison.
Services will be held at 8:30 o’clock Monday evening in the Flynn & Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords.
Mrs. Smink was a benefits administrator at Huls of America in Piscataway for 25 years before retiring eight years ago.
She was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons.
Born in Perth Amboy, she moved to Edison 35 years ago.
Surviving are a daughter, Jill E., and a brother, James Drews.
Bernard R. Slowikowski

LORD’S VALLEY Pa. - A memorial Mass for Bernard R. Slowikowski, 66, of Hawley, a former New Jersey resident, will be offered here at 11 a.m. Monday in St. John Neumann Church.
Arrangements are by the Stroyan Funeral Home.
Mr. Slowikowski, who died Monday at home, served with the Air Force for 20 years as a police officer before retiring.
He also served in the Vietnam War and was a member of the Harrison Chapter of the Veterans of Foreign War.
Born in Scranton, he lived in the Newark, N.J., area for many years before moving to Hawley five years ago.
Surviving are a son, John; three brothers, John, Edward and Felix; two sisters, Mrs. Angela Malinowski and Mrs. Verna Paczkowski, and companion, Dorothy A. Kaprosch.
William R. Schurr

William Rudolf Schurr, 64, of Carteret, a supervisor with the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, died yesterday at home.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church, Elm Avenue, Rahway. Arrangements are by the Mitruska Funeral Home, Fords.
Mr. Schurr worked for the New Jersey Turnpike Authority for 39 years, retiring in 1984 as the supervisor of ticket supply. He was responsible for the continual redesign of the paper tickets used at toll interchanges up and down the thoroughfare that runs from the Delaware Memorial Bridge to the George Washington Bridge. His duties included overseeing ticket production, quality control and distribution issues at all of the interchanges.
After retiring, he worked part-time as a representative for various supermarket and office supply merchandising companies.
He and his wife of 30 years, Gail, also owned and operated Schurr Jewelers, a fine jewelry and gift shop, first in Iselin and then Carteret, from 1976 through 1993.
An avid organist and pianist, Mr. Schurr played the organ on Sundays and holidays at several local churches, including the Sayreville United Methodist Church, the Hungarian Reformed Church in Carteret, St. Anthony’s in Union City and the Fist Baptist Church of Rahway.
He was a 36-year member of the St. Stephen’s F&AM Lodge in South Amboy, where he served as a master in 1970.
Mr. Schorr also was a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Trenton.
Born in Sayreville, he lived in Carteret for 30 years.
Also surviving is a daughter, Kristina.
Emilie Schulman

Services for Mrs. Emilie Schulman, 64, of Freehold Township will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Freeman Funeral Home, 47 E. Main St., Freehold.
Mrs. Schulman, who died Wednesday in the CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township, was a cashier at Acme supermarket in Union for 24 years before retiring five years ago.
Born in Brooklyn, she lived in Roselle Park before to Freehold Township five years ago.
Surviving are her husband, Reuben; a daughter, Mrs. Andrea Shanahan; a sister, Mrs. Elaine L Kopp, and three grandchildren.
Myra Schneider

Mrs. Myra M. Schneider, 88, of Lavalette died yesterday in the Community Medical Center, Toms River.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave., Union.
Mrs. Schneider was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Bloomfield Chapter 76.
Born in Bloomfield, she lived in Union before moving to Lavalette 18 years ago.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Muriel Duphorn; two sisters, Mrs. Erma Zintel and Mrs. Dolores Johnson; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Paul Scarpelli

Paul Scarpelli, 90, of Colonia died yesterday in the Edison Estates Nursing Home.
A Mass will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Andrew Church, Avenel, following the funeral from the Leon J. Gerity Funeral Home, 411 Amboy Ave., Woodbridge.
Mr. Scarpelli worked for a clothing designer in New York City for many years before retiring 15 years ago.
Born in Jersey City, he lived in Newark before moving to Colonia 15 years ago.
Surviving are his wife, Philomena; two sons, Paul and Louis; six grandchildren and three great-grand children.
Anna Sarakwash

Miss Anna Sarakwash, 83, a lifelong resident of South River, died yesterday in Bay Shore Community Hospital, Holmdel.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sts. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, South River, following the funeral from the Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Ave., South River.
Burial will follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, South River.
Miss Sarakwash was an operator with the Revlon Cosmetic Co. in Edison for 25 years before retiring in 1983.
She was a member of the Altar Society of Sts. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church.
Surviving are a brother, Michael, and a sister, Mrs. Nadine Sosik.
