Emanuel Sandreuter

A memorial service for Emanuel Sandreuter, 89, of Woodbridge will be held at 11 a.m. April 29 in the Central Presbyterian Church, Maple Street, Summit.
Arrangements are by the William R. Dangler Funeral Home, Summit.
Mr. Sandreuter, who died Sunday in the Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy, was employed for 40 years with Ciba-Geigy in Summit before retiring as a vice president of importing and exporting in 1976.
He was a volunteer with SAGE in Summit for 15 years.
Born in Basel, Switzerland, he lived in Summit before moving to Woodbridge four years ago.
Surviving are a daughter, Monique; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Robert J. Rush

A Mass for Robert J. Rush, 68, of Nutley, an insurance company executive and spokesman for the cause of organ donation, will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary’s Church, Nutley, following the funeral from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley.
Mr. Rush died Friday in the Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville.
He was the executive vice-president of Bartmon, Shapiro & Associates, an insurance broker in New York City, for 12 years before retiring last year. Before that, Mr. Rush, a chartered life underwriter, had worked for New York Life Insurance, New York City, for 33 years, retiring as vice-president of marketing.
A graduate of Seton Hall University in South Orange, Mr. Rush served in the Army during the Korean War.
In 1999, Mr. Rush was honored at a dinner in St. Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston, by Transplant Recipient International Organization, Springfield, which named him N.J. Organ Donor Father of the Year. Mr. Rush became active in the organization upon the need of a grandson for a liver. He and his wife, Patricia M., lectured frequently on the need for organ donors to medical personnel and clergy. He donated corneas at his death.
Mr. Rush was past Grand Knight of St. Mary’s Church Knights of Columbus Council 2346, Nutley, and a member of the finance committee at St. Mary’s Church.
A member of the New Jersey Historical Miniature Association, he collected miniature historical military figures and was preparing to participate in the East Coast Toy Soldier Show at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Hackensack, on May 7.
Born in Orange, he lived in Newark before moving to Nutley 41 years go.
Besides his wife, also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Ann Marie Donohue, Mrs. Aileen Hresko, Mrs. Peggy Dreker and Joan T.; two sons, Robert K. and Daniel G., and 11 grandchildren.
Walter Reyelt

Walter Reyelt, 93, of Union died yesterday in Union Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Haeberle and Barth Colonial Home, 1100 Pine Ave., corner of Vaux Hall Rd., Union.
Mr. Reyelt was a self-employed mechanical contractor for many years, retiring 30 years ago.
He was the past president of P.V.V. and the past president and grand chaplain for the Fritz Reuter Altenheim Grand Lodge of New Jersey, North Bergen.
Born in Germany, he lived in Irvington before moving to Union 12 years ago.
Surviving are a son, Walter C.; a daughter, Mrs. Linda E. Lavalley, and a grandchild.
James H. Pickett

Private services will be held for James H. Pickett, 77, of Somerset, who died Friday at home. Arrangements are by the Maitner Cremation Services, Jersey City.
Mr. Pickett was a publicist for Damson Oil Co., New York City, for eight years before retiring in 1985. Before that, he worked in the same capacity for Shearson Hayden Stone, a New York City brokerage firm, and as an office manager for McKinsey & Co., Tams Engineers and Architects, both in New York City, and the Hudson Institute, Westchester, N.Y. He was also a radio announcer in Jersey City for a short while in the late 1940s.
Mr. Pickett earned a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University, New York City.
He was a radio operator in the Merchant Marine during World War II.
Born in Jersey City, he lived most of his life in the Bronx before moving to Somerset 30 years ago.
Surviving are his wife, Mable; two daughters, Diane and Tanya; three sons, Ronald, William, and Michael; two sisters, Mrs. Lorraine Motley and Mrs. Marie Holman, and five grandchildren.
Eleanor D. Phelps

Services for Miss Eleanor Dolores Phelps, 51, of Hillside will be held at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow in Grace Episcopal Church, 950 Broad St., Newark. Arrangements are by the James E. Churchman Jr. Funeral Home, Newark.
Miss Phelps, who died Wednesday in the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, was a social worker in the East Orange school system for more than 25 years. Earlier, she had worked in the same capacity for Martland Hospital in Newark for two years.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, and a master’s degree in social work from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, in 1973.
Miss Phelps was a member of the East Orange, Essex County, New Jersey and the national education associations. She also was a chairperson of the Stewardship Committee, and a member of Vestry, Altar and Lay Readers Guild, all of the Grace Episcopal Church.
Born in New York City, she lived in Newark before moving to Hillside.
Margaret Petrowski

Mrs. Margaret Petrowski, 78, of Pulaski, Va., formerly of New Jersey, died yesterday in Pulaski Community Hospital.
A prayer service will be held at 8 o’clock Tuesday evening in Moore’s Home for Funerals, 1591 Alps Rd., Wayne.
Mrs. Petrowski worked for Tupperware in Fairfield for many years.
She belonged to the Pulaski Senior Center.
Born in Irvington, she lived in Lincoln Park for many years before moving to Virginia 10 years ago.
Surviving are five sons, Kenneth Morton Sr. and Michael, Richard, Felix Jr. and Stephen Petrowski; a daughter, Mrs. Laura Hoffman; a brother, William Berry; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Ferraro, Mrs. Ruth Hughes and Mrs. Janet Mae Plouck; 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
George Paci

A Mass for George F. Paci, 87, of Union will be offered at 9:15 a.m. Monday in St. Michael Church, Union, following the funeral from the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave., Union.
Mr. Paci, who died Thursday in Overlook Hospital, Summit, was a supervisor in plant engineering at Shering-Plough in Bloomfield for 24 years, retiring in 1974. Previously, he had been a machine operator at Elastic Stop Nut Corp. in Union for eight years.
Born in Cumberland, Wyo., he lived in Exeter, Pa., and Irvington before moving to Union 46 years ago.
Surviving are Sarah B., his wife of 62 years; a son, Robert J.; three brothers, Lambert, Bino, and Renzo, and three grandchildren.
