Mrs. Mary “Anita” Breese, 71, of Clinton Township died yesterday in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township.
A Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Old Allerton Rd., Annandale, following the funeral from the Naughright-Scarponi Funeral Home, 66 Main St., High Bridge.
Mrs. Breese retired in 1998 as a cottage training supervisor at the Hunterdon Developmental Center, Clinton.
Born in Plainfield, she lived in Clinton for the past 45 years.
Surviving are a son, Mark G.; a brother, Thomas Briskey, and two grandchildren.
Mary Banda

A Mass for Mrs. Mary Banda of Venice, Fla., formerly of Columbia, will be offered at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow in St. Genevieve’s Church, Elizabeth. The funeral will be from the McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave., Union.
Mrs. Banda, who died Tuesday at home, was a member of the China Painters Association.
Born in Newark, she lived in Columbia before moving to Venice six years ago.
Surviving are her husband, John; a son, John Jr.; three sisters, Catherine Cicero, Mrs. Alice Tillet and Mrs. Louise Kerr-Cappeselli; two brothers, Carmine and Alfonse Cicero, and a grandchild.
Andrew A. Balog Jr.

Andrew A. Balog Jr., 76, of Fords died yesterday at home.
A Mass will be offered at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Peace Church, Fords, following the funeral from the Flynn & Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords.
Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Hopelawn.
Mr. Balog was a parts manager with Rossmeyer Brothers in Metuchen for more than 30 years before retiring in 1988.
He served on the executive boards of the Fords-Clara Barton baseball and basketball leagues and was a founder of the Fords-Clara Barton bowling league.
Mr. Balog served in the Marines during World War II.
Born in Perth Amboy, he lived in Fords for the past 50 years.
Surviving are two sons, Devin and Drew; a sister, Mrs. Anne Sabine, and three grandchildren.
John Avenatti

Services will be private for John J. Avenatti, 63, of the Forest Lakes section of Byram Township, who died Monday in St. Clare’s Hospital, Dover Division. Arrangements are by the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, Newton.
Mr. Avenatti was the administrator of the Brookville Health Care Center in Irvington for the past six months.
Earlier, he held the positions of administrator, executive director, executive vice president, chief executive officer and served on the board of trustees of the Westmont Home Inc. in Wayne and Paterson for a total of 20 years.
He was a member of the Society of Licensed Nursing Home Administrators and served on its board of directors since 1972. He also was vice president, president, executive director and executive secretary of the society.
Mr. Avenatti was a member of the New Jersey Association of Non-Profit Homes for the Aging from 1979 through 1998, the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging from 1982 until 1998 and the Tri-County Chamber of Commerce in Wayne.
He also was a member of the Governor’s 1980-1984 New York Task Force for the White House Conference on Aging, the Passaic County H.E.W. Association, the Byram Senior Citizen’s Housing Complex Inc. and former New York Governor Cuomo’s Task Force for the Continuing Care Retirement Committee.
Mr. Avenatti was a graduate of Brooklyn College and in 1972 received a degree in hospital management and nursing home administration from Rutgers University.
He served in the Army during peacetime.
In 1983, Mr. Avenatti received the Byram Township Mayor’s Award for Community Service for Senior Citizen’s Housing.
Born in Maspeth, N.Y., he lived in Westfield before moving to Forest Lakes 20 years ago.
Surviving are Elisa, his wife of 20 years; a sister, Mrs. Dolores Lombardo; a stepdaughter, Stephanie Bolwin; a stepson, Harry Rau, and a grandchild.
Richard Apgar

Richard A. Apgar, 67, of Hackettstown died yesterday at home.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Cochran Funeral Home Inc., 905 High St., Hackettstown.
Mr. Apgar was a carpenter at Apgar Brother’s Carpentry in Irvington.
He served in the Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Apgar was a member of the Loyalty Lodge 33, Union, and the Scottish Rite Lodge of Lincoln Park.
Surviving are his wife, Vera; two daughters, Mrs. Donna Stahl and Mrs. Debra Faria; a brother, Kenneth; a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Seitzmeyer, and three grandchildren.
Serafina Arminio

Mrs. Serafina Arminio, 95, of Union died yesterday in Union Hospital.
A Mass will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Elizabeth Church, Elizabeth, following the funeral from the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave., Union.
Born in Italy, Mrs. Arminio lived in Elizabeth before moving to Union 20 years ago.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Maria Gargano, Mrs. Evia Celano, Mrs. Anna LaVecchia, Mrs. Elisa (Helen) Parker and Irma.
Anastasia Woronka

Mrs. Anastasia Woronka, 85, of Clifton died yesterday in Hackettstown Memorial Hospital.
A Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, Passaic, after the funeral from the Lakeview Memorial Home, 371 Lakeview Ave., Clifton.
Mrs. Woronka worked as a housekeeper at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Paterson for many years before retiring.
Born in Ukraine, she lived in Paterson before moving to Clifton in 1965.
Surviving are two sons, Walter and Theodore; a daughter, Mrs. Veronica Carroll; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
