ROBERT A.W. EVERS, of Kearny, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002. He was 56. Born in Newark, he lived in Kearny most of his life. He died at West Hudson Hospital, Kearny. He graduated from Catholic University in Washington, D.C. in 1969 with a Bachelor’s Degree in history. He worked as a computer programmer with the A.D.P. Company in Roseland for many years. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of Grace Council, Harrison, where he was a Fourth Degree Knight. He was also a member of the Color Corps with the Monsignor Doane Assembly, also of Harrison. He was an active member of St. Stephen’s R.C. Church, Kearny, where he served as a Eucharistic minister and sang in the church choir. Loving husband of 23 years to Nancy Lee (nee Merritt); beloved father of Robert, Michael and Lindsay Evers; dear brother of Evelyn Rouski and Walter Drevelus; son-in-law of Donald and Mary Jane Merritt. Funeral services were conducted by the Edward T. Reid Home for Funerals, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. A funeral mass held in St. Stephen’s R.C. Church, Kearny. Interment
was in Holy Cross Cemetery.

CONSTANCE I. PAULEY, of North Arlington, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002. She was 88. Born in Bolton, England, she came to Kearny as a child before moving to North Arlington 50 years ago. She died at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville. She was a volunteer worker at the North Arlington Public Library, West Hudson Hospital and the Kearny Boys Club. Beloved wife of the late Warren; devoted mother of Mrs. Joan Dignazio of Venice, Fla.; cherished grandmother of Raymond, Richard and Robert; great-grandmother of Kimberly, Justin, Kayla, Brian and Rachel. Funeral services were conducted by the Edward T. Reid Home for Funerals, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude’s Hospital, Memphis Tenn., 38105, would be appreciated.

LORRAINE M. ROUJON, of Delray Beach, Fla., died Saturday, Sept.14, 2002. She was a long time resident of Kearny before moving to Florida 12 years ago. Wife of Joseph Roujon; mother of Deborah Rogler and Carolyn Forcione; grandmother of Elizabeth, Lauren and Robert Rogler, Michael and Patricia Farrell and Nicole Forcione; great-grandmother of Nicholas Farrell. Funeral services were conducted by Reverend Richard Evans, Delray Beach, Fla.
ROMULO R. “POPI” VILLAVEIRAN
ROMULO R. “POPI” VILLAVEIRAN, of Kearny, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002. He was 70. Born in Cienfuegos, Cuba, he lived in Harrison before moving to Kearny 27 years ago. He died at home. He was a maintenance worker for Kearny Smelting in Harrison for 35 years. He was a member of the Portuguese Culture Club. Husband of the late Alcina (nee Cordero); father of Maura Villaveiran and Maricela Murray; brother of Josefina Gonzalez, and Ventura Villaveiran. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Anthony, Erica and Danielle and dear family in Cuba. Funeral services were conducted by the Wilfred Armitage Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. A funeral mass held in St. Cecilia’s Church, Kearny. Interment
was in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of Millburn c/o the funeral home.
COLUMBIA BIBBO PETROLLE
COLUMBIA BIBBO PETROLLE, of Essex Fells, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002. She was 84. Born in Newark, she lived in the Ironbound section for 66 years before moving to Florham Park. She lived in Florham Park before moving to Essex Fells in 1986. She died in St. Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston. She was a N.J. licensed funeral director, license #1626, who owned and operated the Bibbo Funeral Home on Ferry Street in Newark for 40 years. The funeral home was founded by her father, Nicholas Bibbo, in 1880. She also owned and operated the Bibbo-Huelsenbeck Funeral Home on South Orange Avenue, Newark, for 15 years before retiring in 1983. She did her undergraduate work at Douglas College in New Brunswick. She was a graduate of Renuuard Training School for Mortuary Science in New York City. She was an active member of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Roseland, the Rosary Society of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Newark and the St. Mary’s Guild in Newark. She was also a member of the Essex Union and West Hudson Funeral Directors Association and the N.J. State Funeral Directors Association. She was very active along with her late husband Anthony (founder and proprietor of Wear for Weather in Newark) in various civic and political clubs in the Ironbound section of Newark. She was selected as woman of the year several years in a row by various organizations. Beloved wife of the late Anthony Petrolle; devoted mother of Michael A. Petrolle, J.S.C. and Lynne Cannon; dear mother-in-law of Elizabeth A. Petrolle and the late John J. Cannon; cherished grandmother of Laura and Audra Petrolle and Catherine and Jacqueline Cannon; dear sister of Florence D’Alessio and the late Jeanette Alfano. Funeral services were conducted by the Farmer Funeral Home, 45 Roseland Ave., Roseland. A funeral mass was held in Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, Roseland. WALTER SEDOROWICZ
WALTER SEDOROWICZ, of Kearny, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002. He was 83. Born in Irvington, he lived in Belleville before moving to Kearny in 1958. He died at home. He served in the Army during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He worked as a truck driver with the Amex Wire Company of Newark for many years, retiring 22 years ago. Beloved husband of Dorothy (nee Navickas); loving father of Joan S. Jurczak of Lauderdale by the Sea, Fla; dear brother of Blanche Wojtonowicz and Stephanie Wancyk. Funeral services were conducted by the Edward T. Reid Home for Funerals, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. Entombment was in Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington.
