James Grover

DELAWARE TOWNSHIP -- James P. Grover, 81, of Sergeantsville, died Thursday at Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township.
Born in Toms River, he lived there and in Hamilton before moving to Sergeantsville in 1959.
He retired in 1979 as a bridge design engineer for the New Jersey Department of Transportation .
He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a medic in Europe. He retired as a major from the Army Reserve in 1977.
He was a graduate of Peddie School, Hightstown, and Toms River High School, and attended Brown University and Pratt Institute.
He was a member of Sergeantsville United Methodist Church and its choir; Copper Hill Country Club, Flemington; and Orpheus Lodge, F&AM, of Stockton.
Son of the late Percy and Maria Pierce Grover, he is survived by his wife, Margery Burd Grover; two sons, James Grover Jr. of Bar Harbor, Maine, and William Grover of Williston, Vt.; two daughters, Janet LaValley of Seneca Falls, N.Y., and Sarah McCaffrey of Waltham, Mass.; a sister, Frances Kass of Stuart, Fla.; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Sergeantsville United Methodist Church.
Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, Quakertown.
Calling hours will be 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main St., Flemington.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sergeantsville United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, Sergeantsville, N.J. 08557.

Ruth Heitzmann
01/30/99
BELLE MEAD -- Ruth A. Heitzmann, 58, died Thursday at home.
Born in Weehawken, she lived in Belle Mead 20 years.
She is survived by her husband, Charles J. Heitzmann; a son, David C. Heitzmann of Princeton; a daughter, Laura A. Heitzmann of Hoboken; and a sister, Joane Zimmerman of Port St. Lucie, Fla.
Wake service will be 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, 40 Vandeventer Ave., Princeton.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Montgomery Township EMS, Harlingen Road, Belle Mead, N.J. 08502.

William L. Kaylor
01/31/99
HAMILTON -- William L. Kaylor, 83, died Friday at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident.
He was a retired musician and singer with the Lawrence Welk Band, and an insurance broker and auto dealer.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Hamilton Square and United Methodist Church of Columbus.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Son of the late William and Myra Bruton Kaylor, husband of the late Emma Burchett Kaylor and father of the late William Kaylor, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, George B. and Kathy Kaylor of Delray Beach, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Alma Kaylor of Burlington; two granddaughters, Jill Kaylor Furda of Hamilton and Lianne Kaylor of Delray Beach, Fla.; two grandsons, Michael Kaylor of Chapel Hill, N.C., and William Kaylor of Roebling; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be noon Tuesday at Buklad Yardville Memorial Chapel, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road, with the Rev. Neill Tolboom, pastor of United Methodist Church of Columbus, officiating.
Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the chapel.

Adam Kulak
01/30/99
HAMILTON -- Adam Kulak, 78, died Tuesday at St. Francis Medical Center, Trenton.
Born in Newark, he was raised and educated in Poland before returning to America after World War II.
He owned Adam's Tavern, Trenton, for 25 years.
He was a member of Polish Falcons Nest 145, Tavern Owners Association, St. Hedwig's Men's Choir, and was former member and president of the St. Joseph's Society of St. Hedwig's.
Mr. Kulak fought with the resistance in Poland during World War II, was captured by German forces and held prisoner of war before being liberated by U.S. occupation forces.
Son of the late Michael and Maria Cioch Kulak and brother of the late Joseph W. Kulak, he is survived by his wife, Adele Skurniak Kulak of Hamilton; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Caroline Kulak of Hamilton; a daughter and son-in-law, Yardley and John Costa of Vineland; three grandchildren, Ambrose B. Costa, and Christine A. and Patricia A. Kulak; two sisters, Zenia Lasota and Czeslawa Tomaka, both of Poland; a sister-in-law, Henrietta Kulak of Lawrenceville; and several nieces and nephews in New Jersey and Poland.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday from Winowicz Funeral Home, Adeline and Beatty streets, Trenton.
Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Church, Trenton, with the Rev. Henry T. Krajewski officiating.
Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, St. Ann's Patio section.
Calling hours will be 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross Renovation Fund, 201 Adeline St., Trenton, N.J. 08611.

Robert Gorden Ray
01/30/99
EWING -- Robert Gorden Ray, 57, died Thursday at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Ray retired from the U.S. Postal Service after more than 30 years.
He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and its bowling league. He also enjoyed golfing.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Regina M. Ray; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn M. and David Schaible of Hamilton Square, and Sherri A. and Scott C. Carpenter of Cumming, Ga.; a brother and sister-in-law, Donald A. and Elsie M. Ray of Hamilton; three grandchildren, Michelle, Mark and Jeremy; and two nephews.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Saul Memorial Home, 1740 Greenwood Ave., Trenton.
Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton.
Calling hours will be 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3076 Princeton Pike, Lawrenceville, N.J. 08648-2304; or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Kenneth Roragen
01/30/99
BROWNS MILLS -- Kenneth J. Roragen, 68, died Tuesday at home.
Born in Fertile, Minn., he lived in Willingboro before moving to Browns Mills 29 years ago.
Mr. Roragen retired as a staff sergeant after 20 years in the Army, serving in the Korea and Vietnam wars. He was a mechanic at Inductotherm Corp., Rancocas, for 23 years.
He is survived by his wife, Anneliese Regner Roragen; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Stan Roragen of Browns Mills, and Steven and Ulrike Roragen of Boones Mill, Va.; a daughter, Stephanie Roragen of Dover, Del.; four brothers; five sisters; and four grandchildren.
Funeral service and interment were Friday at New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Suite 300, Marlton, N.J. 08053.
Arrangements were by Tilghman Funeral Home, New Egypt.
