Isidor Markowitz

EWING -- Isidor Markowitz, 88, died Tuesday at Capital Health System at Mercer hospital, Trenton.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he lived in Ewing 38 years.
He established a medical practice in Cape May County and became health officer.
He retired after 31 years of military service and was health officer for the state Department of Health, medical director at Parkway Nursing Home in Ewing and a staff member of Mercer Medical Center, retiring in 1975.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War, and was appointed chief of the preventive medical division, First Army Medical Section, commissioned as colonel, served in the surgeon general's office at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., connected with the 109th General Hospital in England during World War II, and was chief of preventive medicine in France during the Korean War.
He was awarded the legion of merit, purple heart, bronze star medal with valor, American defense service medal and European African Middle East campaign medal.
He was a diplomate of the American Board of Preventive Medicine, fellow of the American College of Preventive Medicine, and member of the American Medical Association and Retired Officers Association.
He attended New York University and graduated from the University of Michigan and St. Louis University School of Medicine.
Son of the late Abraham and Annie Markowitz, he is survived by his wife of 60 years, Henrietta Mirsky Markowitz; two daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and Lawrence Siegel of Yardley, Pa., and Amy and Oren Patashnik of San Diego; a son, Michael Markowitz of Branford, Conn.; a brother, Jerome Markowitz of Phoenix; a sister, Mabel Mintz of Long Island, N.Y.; six grandchildren, Andrew and Molly Siegel, Anna Markowitz, and Joshua, Ariel and Jeremy Patashnik.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Arlington (Va.) National Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood House.

Anthony J. Kubala Jr.

HAMILTON -- Anthony Joseph Kubala Jr., 60, died Friday at Capital Health System at Fuld hospital.
Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident.
He retired in 1993 as senior corrections officer at Trenton State Prison after 22 years and was a longtime special officer with Hamilton Township Police Department.
He was a member of Army National Guard from 1956 to 1964, serving as staff sergeant with HH&S Battery, 4th Battalion, 112th Artillery.
He was a member of the State Police Benevolent Association Local 105, Trenton Elks Lodge 105, American Legion Post 31, Crescent Temple AAONMS Lodge, assistant chief of Mercerville Fire Co., REACT and volunteered with Mercer County's Chapter of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Son of the late Anthony J. Sr. and Rose Mehalyak Kubala, he is survived by his wife Phyllis Weiland Kubala; a son and daughter-in-law, Anthony J. III and Ellen Kubala of Hamilton Square; two daughters and a son-in-law, Donna M. and Danny Franta of Trenton and Patricia Kubala of Mercerville; a granddaughter, Katie Kubala of Hamilton Square; and a brother, Robert Kubala of Mercerville.
Funeral will be 8 a.m. Tuesday from Lisiecki Memorial Home, 1028 N. Olden Ave., Trenton.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9 a.m. at St. Hedwig Roman Catholic Church, 872 Brunswick Ave., Trenton.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Audrey Semler

TRENTON -- Audrey E. Semler, 83, died Thursday at Capital Health System at Mercer hospital, Trenton.
Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong area resident.
Mrs. Semler retired in 1981 after 25 years as a secretary with the Department of Defense, Eggerts Crossing Road.
She was a member of the West Trenton Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and the American Association of Retired Persons.
Daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Ashbrandt Munson and wife of the late Thomas E. Semler, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas C. and Barbara Semler of Hamilton; a sister and brother-in-law, Veida and Adam Ziegler of Washington State; and two granddaughters, Lisa Applegate of Kansas City, Mo., and Renee Semler of Hamilton.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Greenwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Beth A. Schlegel of St. Bartholomew Lutheran Church officiating.

FLEMINGTON BOROUGH -- Daniel M. Sherry, 83, died Thursday at home.
Born in Flemington, he was a lifelong resident.
A machinist, he retired from Johns-Manville Corp., Manville, in 1981.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division.
He was a member of the Flemington Rescue Squad, Readington Reformed Church, Flemington American Legion Post 159, and president of the Flemington-Raritan Rescue Squad.
Son of the late Michael and Louise Berardino Sherry, he is survived by his wife, Edna Potts Sherry; three sisters, Fannie Koblis and Josephine Manella, both of Flemington, and Lena Gabora of Raritan Borough; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main St., Flemington.
Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington.

TRENTON -- Frances Lapa Sobon, 80, died Thursday at home.
Born in Tarrytown, N.Y., she was a longtime Trenton resident.
She retired after 15 years from the New Jersey Department of Insurance Disability Division in 1985.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Rosary-Altar Society.
Daughter of the late John and Josephine Roslowski Lapa, wife of the late Joseph J. Sobon, and sister of the late Edward Lapa, she is survived by a son and his fiancee, Paul Sobon and Michele Smith of Morrisville, Pa.; two sisters, Joanna Lapa of Trenton and Josephine Kudrick of Hamilton; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 8 a.m. Monday from Winowicz Funeral Chapel, 865 Brunswick Ave., Trenton.
Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 9 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Church, 540 N. Olden Ave., with Msgr. William Dailey officiating.

EWING -- Adele Kolczynski Taylor died Friday at Mercer County Geriatric Center, Hamilton.
Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong area resident.
She retired in 1981 as an administrative assistant with the New Jersey Department of Rehabilitation after 20 years.
Daughter of the late John and Martha Zychlinski Kolczynski and sister of the late Sally Gulden, Karl Kolczynski and Casmir Kolczynski, she is survived by her husband, Raymond Taylor; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Joy Olszak of Pasadena, Texas, and Robert and Barbara Olszak of Hamilton; a daughter and son-in-law, Judith and William Morehart of Hamilton; two stepdaughters and a son-in-law, Debra and Edward Leahy of Lawrenceville, and Chris Ferrara of Stockton; a sister, Irene Tucci of Rochester, N.H.; three brothers, Robert Kolczynski of Cedar Run, Chester Kolczynski of Trenton, and John Kolczynski of Yardville; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 8 a.m. Tuesday from Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrence.

BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP -- Henry J. VonLintig, 84, died Thursday at Rancocas Hospital, Willingboro.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a longtime Burlington Township resident.
He worked at his family's dairy farm.
He was a member and past master of Burlington Lodge 32, F&AM, and its board of temple trustees. He enjoyed playing the accordion and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret E. VonLintig; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Curt H.J. VonLintig of Burlington Township, Richard D. and Mary VonLintig of Voorhees, and Robert and Stephanie VonLintig of Boise, Idaho; two sisters, Lillian VonLintig and Erna Nickolet, both of Tiverton, R.I.; and two grandsons, Robert M. and Matthew R. VonLintig.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union St., Burlington, with the Rev. Barbara McFie officiating.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Burlington.
