MILFORD -- Florence Emery Kirk, 86, died Saturday at Hunterdon Medical Center, Flemington.
Born in Oldwick, she lived in Milford.
She was a secretary at Riegel Paper Corp., Milford, many years before teaching business education at High Bridge High School and Phillipsburg Catholic High School.
She graduated from Rider College.
She was a member of Amwell Church of the Brethren, Sergeantsville, where she taught Sunday school and played piano, and Spring Mills Grange. She was also involved with the Christian Endeavor Youth Organization.
She enjoyed painting, drawing and music.
Daughter of the late William Emery and Nellien Rockefeller Emery and wife of the late Joseph Kirk, she is survived by three sons, Norman and Larry of Frenchtown and Calvin of Milford; a daughter, Kathleen Manes of New Mexico; a sister, Catherine Pinkerton of Flemington; a brother, Arthur Emery of Florida; and four grandchildren, Heather, Dawn, Justin and Jeremy.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Amwell Church of the Brethren, Sergeantsville.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Calling hours will be 10 a.m. until service Wednesday at the church.
Arrangements are by W.E. Johnson Funeral Home.
Frances Voorhees Kelsey

HIGHTSTOWN -- Frances Voorhees Kelsey, 83, died Saturday at home at Meadow Lakes.
Born in New York City, she lived in Hightstown many years.
She was a former member of First Presbyterian Church of Orange, Garden Club of the Oranges and Garden Club of Westhampton Beach, New York.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, H. Burr Kelsey; a son and daughter-in-law, Peter B. and Mary D. Kelsey of Fairfax, Va.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia Kelsey and John F. Schultz of Richmond, Va., and Marjorie Kelsey and Richard D. White of Annandale, Va.; a sister, Henrietta Herkert; two brothers, Willard P. Voorhees and Clifford Irving Van Voorhees Jr.; and eight grandchildren, Christopher, Frances and Joanna Schultz, Rebecca and Parker Kelsey, Kathryn DeLonga and Charles and Christopher White.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church of Hightstown, 320 N. Main St., with the Rev. Suzanne Schafer Coates officiating.

Bertha Hourwitz

EWING -- Bertha Hourwitz, 95, died Sunday at Greenwood House Nursing Home.
Born in New York City, she lived in New Haven, Conn., before moving to the Ewing area in 1945.
She retired in 1969 as a secretary with the state Division of Labor and Industry.
She was a former member of Jesherun, B'Nai Brith, Hadassah and the Anshe Emes Congregation.
Wife of the late William Hourwitz, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Myrna and Benjamin Levine of Yardley, Pa.; two granddaughters, Karen Segal and her husband Aaron and Ellen Levine Smith and her husband Randolph; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. today at People of Truth Cemetery, Hamilton, with Rabbi Elliot Strom officiating.
Shivah will be observed at the Levine residence in Yardley.

Cora Virginia Heyer

MONROE -- Cora Virginia Heyer, 64, died Sunday at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
Born in Trenton, she lived in Monroe Township 22 years.
She was formerly a personnel administrator at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, Pa.
She was a former member of First Presbyterian Church of Hightstown.
She graduated from Hightstown High School, Centenary College, Hackettstown; American University, Washington, D.C.; and Stanford (Calif.) University.
She was predeceased by her parents, William Sutphin Heyer and Cora Varian Heyer.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hightstown.
Arrangements are by Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold.
Theodore Grover

MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP -- Theodore "Frank" Grover, 70, died Friday at Capital Health System at Fuld hospital, Trenton.
Born in Skillman, he was a lifelong resident.
He retired as a proctor from Princeton University after more than 21 years.
Mr. Grover was a Marine veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of Mount Zion AME Church and its trustee board, and past master of Aaron Lodge 9 F&AM, where he was treasurer more than 30 years.
He was also a member of Ophir Consistory 48, Kahfu Temple 120, where he was a member of the marching unit; Hawks and Raiders semi-pro football, Princeton; and the Cavalier Club, Princeton.
He was educated in Skillman public schools and graduated from Princeton High School, where he was a member of the football and track teams.
Son of the late Wilmer Sr. and Bessie Brokaw Grover and brother of the late Wilmer Jr. and Mae Robinson, he is survived by his wife, Audrey Bloomfield Grover; a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas F. and Loren Grover of Trenton; a sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Earl Nevius of Hopewell; a brother, Robert L. of Trenton; two sisters-in-law, Barbara and Beverly Bloomfield of Ewing; three grandchildren; and other relatives.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Second Calvary Baptist Church, 69 Columbia Ave., Hopewell, with the Rev. Denzel Turton, pastor of Mount Zion AME Church, Skillman, officiating.
Burial will be in Stoutsburg Cemetery, Hopewell.
Calling hours will be 9 a.m. until service Thursday at the church, with Masonic service at 10 a.m.

Felicia Ganie

TRENTON -- Felicia Ganie, 40, died Friday at Capital Health System at Fuld hospital.
Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong resident.
She was a former corrections officer with the state Department of Corrections, Clinton.
She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
She was educated in Trenton public schools and attended CTI Computer School, Trenton.
Daughter of the late Evelyn B. Ganie and predeceased by Edward R. Billingsley, who raised her after her mother's death, she is survived by Doris Billingsley of Trenton, who also raised her; a daughter, Sharise L. Ganie of Trenton; a sister, Antoinette O. Ganie of Hamilton; a grandson, Quran Elder Ganie of Trenton; her paternal grandmother, Rovenna King of Flint, Mich.; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Shiloh Baptist Church, 340 Calhoun St., with the Rev. Darrell L. Armstrong, assistant pastor, officiating.
Burial will be at the family's convenience.
Calling hours will be 6 p.m. until service Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home.
Nelson Forbes

PEMBERTON TOWNSHIP -- Nelson Forbes, 71, died Sunday at home.
Born in Monroe, N.Y., he traveled during his military career and lived in Pemberton since 1967.
He retired as a platoon sergeant after 21 years in the Army.
Mr. Forbes was a decorated veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars, and received the Bronze Star with Valor and the Purple Heart.
He also retired after 22 years as a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service, Trenton.
Mr. Forbes was a member of the Fort Dix Main Post Chapel, Protestant Congregation, and its head usher.
He was past commander and former chaplain for the Military Order of the Purple Heart and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 27.
He is survived by his wife, Michiko A. Forbes.
Funeral will be 11:30 p.m. Friday at the Fort Dix Main Army Chapel, Fort Dix.
Burial will be in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lankenau Funeral Home, 31 Elizabeth St.
