WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP -- Frank A. Flagiello, 66, died Monday at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
Born in Trenton, he lived in Robbinsville 13 years.
He worked with American Standard 22 years and General Motors, Corp. 15 years before retiring.
He was a member of United Auto Workers Union.
Grandson of the late Frank and Palma Flagiello, son of the late Anthony Flagiello and Anna Perfetto Silvestro and nephew of the late Jennie Bentley, he is survived by his wife, Joan Kliczkowski Flagiello; a daughter, Norma Flagiello of Robbinsville; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Carmela and Joseph Nickels of Hamilton Square, Palma Scarlata of Trenton and Betty Nave of Maryland; his mother-in-law, Stephanie Kliczkowski of North Trenton; and other relatives.
Private funeral and burial will be at the family's convenience.
There will be no calling hours.

James Douglas Elgin

LAMBERTVILLE -- James Douglas Elgin, 87, died Saturday at Sippican Care Center, Marion, Mass.
Born in Hopkinsville, Ky., he lived in Chappaqua, N.Y., before moving to Lambertville in 1979.
He was advertising director for Mobil Oil, New York City, retiring in 1975 after 20 years.
Earlier, he was associated with Pabst Blue Ribbon Brewery and Toastmaster General.
After retiring, he was a consultant with several area industries including Boehm Porcelain and Viking Yacht. Mr. Elgin also joined the business faculty of Rider University, where he taught advertising and marketing.
While in New York, he was a member of Marble Collegiate Church and was a friend and supporter of Dr. Norman Vincent Peale. He was a proponent of Dr. Peale's "Power of Positive Thinking" and worked with him in writing the church's literature and programs.
Mr. Elgin was active with the Friends of the Lambertville Library and Friends of Mary Sheridan Park.
He graduated from the University of Missouri's School of Journalism.
Son of the late Jesse and Maude Kennedy Elgin, he is survived by his wife, Laura Celia Lyra Elgin; a son, Bruce of Anchorage, Alaska; a daughter, Randall Elgin of Wareham, Mass.; a stepdaughter, Robin Lyra of New York City; a brother, Edwin S. of Fort Worth, Texas; and a granddaughter, Amelia Elgin.
Memorial service will be 7 p.m. Friday at Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, 21 York St.
Burial at a later date will be in Riverside Cemetery, Hopkinsville.

John C. Durr

MANSFIELD -- John C. Durr, 74, died Sunday at Marcella Center, Burlington Township.
Born in Columbus, he was a lifelong resident.
He owned Maple Vail Farm, Columbus.
Mr. Durr was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Bordentown City; and a lifetime member of the Columbus Grange.
Mr. Durr served on the Mansfield Township planning and zoning boards.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Durr of Columbus; a son, Barry J. of Willingboro; three daughters, Deborah A. Houseworth of Columbus, Diane P. McTamney of Birmingham, Ala., and Denise P. Hayes of Sewell; a brother, Herman Durr of Wrightstown; a sister, Elizabeth Ley of Medford; nine grandchildren; a great-grandson; and nieces and nephews.
Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 45 Crosswicks St., Bordentown, with the Rev. Michael Burns, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, at the family's convenience.
There will be no calling hours.

TRENTON -- Rose Hoffman Downs, 77, died Sunday at Arcadia Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Hamilton.
Born in Lawrenceville, she was a lifelong area resident.
Daughter of the late James and Katherine Robb Hoffman, wife of the late Charles Downs and mother of the late Shirley Downs, she is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles D. and Margie Downs of Levittown, Pa., and David J. of Morrisville, Pa.; three daughters, Rose and Joyce Sheppard and Alice Downs, all of Trenton; a brother, James Hoffman Jr. of New York; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Riverview Cemetery, with the Rev. Roderick Mills, pastor of Pearson Memorial United Methodist Church, officiating.
There will be no calling hours.

Grace Barlow Davall

MONROE -- Grace Barlow Davall, 87, died Monday at The Medical Center at Princeton.
Born in Monmouth Junction, she was a lifetime resident of Kingston before moving to Monroe Village six years ago.
She retired after many years as a clerical worker for Educational Testing Services, Princeton.
Wife of the late Harold G. Davall, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, C. William and Barbara Davall of Kingston and Barry B. and Sandra Davall of Fair Haven; four grandchildren; Charles Jr. and Jeffrey Davall, Donna Thall and Karin Warner; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be noon Thursday at Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, 40 Vandeventer Ave., Princeton.
Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery, Cranbury.
Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP -- Kenneth Lewis Brower Sr., 87, died Sunday at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
Born in New Brunswick, he lived in Robbinsville since 1977.
He worked 25 years with General Motors Corp. of Trenton.
Mr. Brower was an Army veteran of World War II, serving with the 100th Infantry Division in Battle of the Bulge.
He was a member of St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church, United Auto Workers Local 731, American Association of Retired Persons and Washington Township Senior Citizens.
He was a life member of Trenton Veterans of Foreign Wars and a former member of St. Gregory the Great Seniors and Deborah Heart and Lung Association.
Son of the late Edward and Mary Brower, he is survived by his wife, Mary E. Brower; three sons and daughters-in-law, Karl and Lani Brower of Lebanon, Ore., Kenneth L. Jr. and Marie Brower of Bensalem, Pa., and Richard and Catherine Brower of Mercerville; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Robert Fravel of Langhorne, Pa.; two sisters, Dorothy Snyder of Mercerville and Ethel Hewitt of Toms River; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Edward and Alice Brower of Whitehorse and Donald Brower of Toms River; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral will be 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton.

Elisena Altobelli

HAMILTON -- Elisena Altobelli, 85, died Monday at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
Born in Colledimezzo, Abbruzzi, Italy, she lived in Bronx, N.Y. 30 years before moving to the Hamilton area 20 years ago.
Daughter of the late Antonio and Filomena DiLello and wife of the late Nicola Altobelli, she is survived by a daughter and grandson, Joanne and Nick Rotundo of Mercerville; a sister, Giaginta DiLello of Italy; and a niece.
Funeral service will be 8 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 2365 Whitehorse-Mercerville Road, with Deacon Guido Mattozzi officiating.
Entombment will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Mausoleum.
Calling hours will be 7 p.m. until service Thursday at the funeral home.
