William Balla

HAMILTON -- William J. Balla, 77, died Monday at home.
Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong resident.
He was a supervisor for CF&I Steel Corp., Roebling 19 years before retiring, and was a kiln fireman for N.J. Porcelain Co., Trenton, 12 years.
He graduated from Trenton Central High School in 1939.
He was a Coast Guard veteran of World War II.
He was a member of American Legion Post 458, Trenton, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3022, Lawrence, and enjoyed sports.
Son of the late John Balla and Helen Chorba Balla Oscenda and brother of the late Lillian Kish, he is survived by his wife of 50 years, Helen P. Nerwinski Balla, three daughters and sons-in-law, Lorraine and William Fuhrmann of Mercerville, Cynthia H. and Edward J. Masterson of Ewing and Christine N. and David Murawski of Mercerville; eight grandchildren, Jennifer and Chip Heuisler, Alison and James Lalli, Jessica and Edward Masterson and Kevin and Michael Murawski; a great-grandson; a sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and Joseph Radvany of Lake Havasu, Ariz.; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Hungarian Reformed Church, 180 Home Ave., Trenton, with the Rev. Laszlo Ujj, pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Rogers Funeral Home, 929 S. Clinton Ave., Trenton, with VFW service at 6:30 p.m. and American Legion service at 7 p.m.
Burt Baron

MORRISVILLE, Pa. -- Burt A. Baron, 61, died Monday at home.
Born in Boston, he was an area resident 40 years.
He was executive director of property management and facilities at Educational Testing Services, Princeton 28 years.
Son of the late Louis D. and Rose Baron Goldman, he is survived by his wife, Nancy Lee Regler Baron; three sons, Dwayne Louis Baron and Eric S. Baron of Morrisville and Bret David Baron of Rutherfordton, N.C.; a sister, Marilyn Mazur of Bloomfield, Conn.; a grandson, Brandon Reed Baron of Rutherfordton; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be private.

Sister Helen Basco

MARYKNOLL, N.Y. -- Sister Helen Jean Basco MM, 77, died Monday at Phelps Memorial Hospital, North Tarrytown.
Born in Trenton, she was a Maryknoll resident.
She was a sister with Maryknoll 54 years. She taught school in Trenton, Dayton, N.J., the Chinatown section of New York City, and Hawaii. She volunteered at Hawaii Catholic Charities Office before retiring in Maryknoll in 1993.
She graduated from Cathedral Girls High School in 1939 and from Trenton State Teachers College.
She is survived by a brother, William Basco of Roebling, N.J.; and a niece.
Funeral service and vespers will be 7 this evening at Maryknoll Sisters Center, Ossining.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday at Maryknoll Sisters Center.
Interment will be in Maryknoll Sisters Cemetery.

HOPEWELL -- Aubrey A. Branham, 88, died Monday at The Medical Center at Princeton.
Born in Lynchburg, Va., he lived in Hopewell 70 years.
He was a heavy equipment mechanic for Trap Rock Industries of Pennington.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Trenton, Hopewell Lodge 155 and Foster Parent for Animal Allies of Mercer County.
Husband of the late Lessie E. Branham, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Aubrey A. and Penelope J. Branham; two brothers, Jesse Branham of Pennington and Leroy Branham of Hopewell; four grandchildren, Ellen E., Mathias A., Tyler L.B. Branham and Rachelle Racusin.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Wilson-Apple Funeral Home, Pennington Circle, Pennington, with the Rev. Ronald B. Bagnall, pastor of Grace Lutheran Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Harbourton Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Masonic service at 8 p.m.

GLEN SPEY, N.Y. -- Harry Bujar, 77, died Monday at home.
Born in Ukraine, he lived in Hamilton, N.J. before moving to Glen Spey.
He worked at United Technologies Corp. of Hartford, Conn., until retiring.
He was a member of St. Volodymyr's Ukrainian Catholic Church.
Son of the late Vasyl and Maria Tymcaysayn Bujar, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Bohdan and Teresa Bujar of Hamilton; and a daughter and son-in-law, Irene and Chuck Moses of Concord, Vt.
Funeral service will be 9 a.m. Friday at Gray-Parker Funeral Home, 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis.
Liturgy Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at St. Volodymyr's Ukrainian Catholic Church, with the Rev. Oleska Kostyk officiating.
Interment will be in St. Mary's of the Assumption Church Cemetery, Trenton.

Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong resident.
She worked for Scammell China Co.
She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Church and its Altar Rosary Society, PTA, Ladies Jednota, serving as assistant sacristan and member of AARP.
Wife of the late Joseph L. Chiarello, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Zajaros Bogdan and sister of the late Helena B. Ruopp and Francis Bogdan she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Monica M. and Chet Kilewski of North Brunswick; a sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor and John Rogoza of Trenton; a brother, Joseph F. Bogdan of Trenton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward J. and Anna Bogdan of Denver and Donald F. and Joan Bogdan of St. Simons Island, Ga.; three grandchildren, Catherine E. Kilewsi, Michael A. and Maxmilian J. Montrey; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral service will be 9 a.m. Friday at Kutch Funeral home, 215 Grand St., Trenton.

LONGMEADOW, Mass. -- Marjorie P. Rednor Cohen, 74, died Thursday at home.
Born in Trenton, she lived in North Brothers Island Army base in New York, Texas and Springfield before moving to Longmeadow.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Philip Cohen of Longmeadow; four sons, David and Steven Cohen of San Jose, Calif., and Richard and Alan Cohen of Agawam; a brother, Barry Rednor of Trenton; and two grandsons.
Funeral service was Sunday at Temple Beth El.
Interment was in Beth El Cemetery.
