HOPEWELL -- Consuelo F. Rhodes, 78, died Monday at home.
Born in New York City, she was a longtime resident of Ewing and Hopewell.
She graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in fine arts and was an interior designer for W.J. Sloane Co.
She was a charter member and past president of West Trenton Garden Club and member of St. Hilda's Guild of Trinity Cathedral, Trenton.
Daughter of the late Ernest and Ellen Farrow and wife of the late Robert M. Rhodes, she is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Victoria Rhodes of Manchester, Conn., Alexandra of Mount Arlington and Cynthia and Thomas Patterson of Ewing; six grandchildren, Ann Zelinski, Lindsay Elef, Richard and Elizabeth Bailey and Shannon and Scott Patterson.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Wilson-Apple Funeral Home, Pennington Circle, Pennington with the Rev. Virginia Sheay, rector of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Ewing, officiating.
Interment will be in Ewing Cemetery.
Calling hours will be noon until service Saturday at the funeral home.

Major Smith

TRENTON -- Major Smith, 50, died Thursday at Botsford Hospital, Farmington Hills, Mich.
Born in Barbour County, Eufaula, Ala., he moved to Trenton in 1963.
He served in the Marine Corps during Vietnam.
Son of the late Jacob Smith, he is survived by his mother, Henrietta Smith of Eufaula; a daughter, Marjorie Smith of Trenton; two sons, Christopher Allen Adamczyk of Royal Oak, Mich. and Xavier of Lansing, Mich.; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Myra and Alfred Davall, Mary and Stanley Woodall, Sandra and Leroy Funderberg and Shirley and Frank Stewart, all of Trenton and Gena and Thomas Hoskey of Eufaula; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jacob and Lora Smith of Ypsilanti, Mich., and Richard and Barbara Smith of Montgomery, Ala.; his fiancee, Dolores Adamczyk of Royal Oak, Mich.; and nieces and nephews.
Private funeral service was Sunday at Beams of Heaven Funeral Home, Inkster, Mich.
Interment was in Metropolitan Memorial Garden Cemetery, Bellville, Mich.
Robert Strubel

EWING -- Robert Stanley Strubel, 3, died Sunday at Capital Health System at Mercer hospital, Trenton.
Born in Trenton, he is survived by his parents, Michael A. and Rhonda Bennett Strubel, maternal grandparents Barbara and Gershom Bennett of Willingboro, and paternal grandparents William and Janet Ashenfelter of Ewing.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Wilson-Apple Funeral Home, Pennington Circle, Pennington, with the Rev. Dan Whitner, pastor of Abiding Presence Lutheran Church of Ewing, officiating.
Interment will be at the family's convenience.
Calling hours will be 1 p.m. until service Thursday at the funeral home.

Stanley Szkil

MANSFIELD -- Stanley J. Szkil, 77, died Monday at Virtua Health Memorial Hospital of Burlington County, Mount Holly.
Born in Lowell, Mass, he lived in Hamtramck, Mich., and 37 years in Hedding.
He was a retired Air Force captain in the Army Air Forces, serving 1943 to 1964 during World War II, and the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a supply clerk at Fort Dix 13 years.
He was a member of St. Mary's Romanian Byzantine Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society, Bordentown Knights of Columbus, Opre-Larson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8838, Roebling, and U.S. Air Force Association. He enjoyed sports.
He is survived by his wife, Cornelia Notigan Szkil; two sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley and Eileen Szkil of West Chester, Pa. and Michael and Elizabeth Szkil of Green Bay, Wis.; two brothers, Bill Szkil of Sun City, Calif., and Edward Szkil of Hamtramck; four grandchildren, Megan, Mikaila, Andrea and Kevin; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Romanian Byzantine Catholic Church, Roebling.
Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Calling hours will be 9 a.m. until service Friday at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Ave., Roebling.
Saracusta service will be 9:45 a.m. with the Rev. George David officiating.

NAPLES, Fla. -- Isabelle B. Watson, 89, died Sunday at Manor Care Lakewood.
Born in New York City, she lived in Ewing, N.J., before moving to Naples 25 years ago.
She retired in 1974 after 30 years as an administrative assistant with the State of New Jersey.
Daughter of the late Charles and Isabella H. Barrett, wife of the late Wilfred Watson and sister of the late Charles H. Barrett Jr., she is survived by a sister, Lucy Barrett of Naples; and a brother and sister-in-law, George F. and Almeda Barrett of Oceanport, N.J.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Huber Funeral Home, 517 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown.
Burial will be in Bordentown Cemetery.

Mary M. Straker

TRENTON -- Mary M. Straker, 93, died Monday at Capital Health System at Mercer hospital.
Born in Yugoslavia, she lived in the Trenton area since 1910.
She retired after many years with the state.
She was a former member of Aurora German Club.
Daughter of the late George and Theresa Muehl, wife of the late Frank J. Straker Sr. and mother of the late Frank Jr., she is survived by a daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Straker, with whom she lived; a grandson, Frank III of Trenton; a brother, John Mehl of Hamilton; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be 9 a.m. Thursday from M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 1863 Hamilton Ave.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. at Incarnation Church, 1545 Pennington Road, Ewing.
Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

DELAWARE TOWNSHIP -- Hedwig Smith, 89, died Sunday at Little Brook Nursing Home, Lebanon Township.
Born in Bublitz, Germany, she lived in Queens, N.Y. and Clinton before moving to Delaware Township several years ago.
She was a former caretaker for a New York City estate.
Wife of the late Otto Smith, she is survived by a niece and nephews in Germany.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Nov. 18 at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main St., Flemington.
Burial was private.
There will be no calling hours.
