Forrest C. Berghuis

PENNINGTON -- Forrest C. Berghuis, 75, died Tuesday at Capital Health System at Fuld hospital, Trenton.
Born in Chicago, he was an area resident since 1946, living in Ewing 38 years before moving to Pennington five years ago.
He was a Navy veteran, serving aboard the USS Phoenix during World War II.
He joined the Industrial Engineering Works Construction Group in 1950, and retired as the company's vice president of sales in 1990.
He was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church, where he served as deacon, trustee and elder. He was a volunteer and director of training in the mail room at Capital Health System at Mercer hospital. He was a member of Mercer Column Lodge 50, F&AM; Scottish Rite Valley of Trenton; and Crescent Temple. An avid bridge player, he was a longtime member of Timberlane Bridge Club of Pennington.
He was liaison to the buildings and grounds committee of Pennington Point Condominium Association.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Louise Hutchinson Berghuis; a son, David F. Berghuis of Westbury, N.Y.; a daughter, Christine Munro of New Canaan, Conn.; a brother, Robert of Bensonville, Ill.; and three grandchildren, Derek Berghuis, and Allison and Kevin Munro.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Covenant Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Hugh Smith III officiating.
Calling hours will be 1:30 to 2 p.m. Friday at the church.

Leonard Barbesh

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP -- Leonard Barbesh, 69, died Wednesday at Bartley Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Jackson.
Born in Trenton, he was an area resident before moving to Freehold in 1959.
A registered pharmacist, he operated Freehold Pharmacy for 37 years before retiring in 1996.
He was a member of Congregation Agudath Achim, the Optimist Club, and Protective and Benevolent Order of Elks Lodge 1454, all in Freehold. He was also a member of the N.J. Pharmacists Association.
Mr. Barbesh was a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science, Philadelphia.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila Sosnow Barbesh; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Eric Barbesh of Freehold and Steven and Wendy Barbesh of Woodbridge; a daughter and son-in-law, Wendi and David Olitsky of Freehold; a sister and brother-in-law, Edith and Joseph Rogoff of Ewing; and two grandchildren, Monica and Pamela Olitsky.
Funeral will be noon today at Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center St., Freehold with Rabbi Kenneth Greene officiating.
Burial will be in Sholom Cemetery, Hillside.
Rafael Vega

TRENTON -- Rafael Vega, 51, died Tuesday at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia.
Born in Catano, Puerto Rico, he moved to Trenton in 1960.
He worked more than 12 years for ChrisCraft Co., Hamilton, and the past six years in housekeeping for the State of New Jersey.
Son of the late Enrique and Ramona Otero Vega, he is survived by his wife, Christina Rios Vega; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Benjamin Rios of Chicopee, Mass., Jorge Davila, and Michael and Donna Davila, all of Trenton; four daughters and a son-in-law, Yamilett and Samuel Taylor, Diana Davila, and Yahaida and Crystal Vega, all of Trenton; and a close friend, Gloria.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Joseph P. Horan Funeral Home, 432 Hamilton Ave., with the clergy of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church officiating.
Cremation will be at Ewing Crematorium.
Calling hours will be 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Roberta Tuoly-Dilli

OCEANSIDE, Calif. -- Roberta Tuoly-Dilli, 59, died Wednesday.
Born in New York, she lived in Oceanside for more than 20 years.
She worked for Pacific Bell Telephone Co.
She was an artist; she founded the Southern California Portuguese Water Dog Club.
She is survived by her mother, June Robedee of Trenton; four daughters, Jennifer Dilli of Oceanside, Denise Mohler of Clovis, Ga., Catherine Hix of Omaha, Neb., and Susan Pererais of Florida; five sisters, Charlotte Slemmons of Florida, Patricia Young of Bordentown, N.J., Alice Ross of Los Molinos, Gail Sabo of New Jersey, and Barbara Sprague of Red Bluff; a brother, John Tuohy of Florida; seven grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
Funeral will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Mission San Luis Ray Parish Chapel, with Father Michael officiating.
Burial will be in Eternal Hills Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Eternal Hills Mortuary.

TRENTON -- Myra Elizabeth Stephan, 99, died Thursday at St. Francis Medical Center.
Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong resident.
Daughter of the late Joseph and Henrietta Schenck Salt, and wife of the late Thomas Coulter Stephan, she is survived by a daughter, Alice Lorraine Hollendonner; a brother-in-law, Harold H. Everett of Jacksonville, Fla.; two granddaughters and their husbands, Amy and Jeffrey Smith of Trenton and Nancy and David Turner of Lansdale, Pa.; four great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Saul Memorial Home, 1740 Greenwood Ave., with the Rev. Claude W. Ely of Christ Anglican Church officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton.

Constance Scott

EWING -- Constance Maude Scott, 81, died Tuesday at The Medical Center of Princeton.
Born in Bernardsville, she lived in Saranac, N.Y., before moving to Ewing.
She retired in 1980 as associate dean of the Evening School at Rider University. She previously had been an assistant professor of accounting at Rider, and prior to that was a public school teacher at Clayton High School, Clayton, from 1939 to 1946.
She was a member of the New Jersey Education Association, the Association for Continuing Higher Education, for which she served as chairwoman, and many other professional groups.
Her biography was published in "Who's Who Among American Women 10th Edition" in 1977-78 and "Outstanding Educators of America" in 1974.
She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, where she served as a lay reader and treasurer of the church vestry. She was a volunteer at Capital Health System at Mercer hospital, Trenton.
She earned bachelor's degrees from Rider in 1938 and 1939 and a master's degree from Rutgers University in 1950.
Daughter of the late Edward Joseph and Maude Ida Ferber, she is survived by her husband, Lewis Scott; a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Geoffrey Colon and Julia Anne Scott of Ringoes; and a daughter and son-in-law, Germaine Elsie and Dr. Easo Pulinthitta George of Knoxville, Tenn.
Private graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Cedar Green Cemetery, Clayton, with the Rev. Dr. Virginia Sheay of St. Luke's Episcopal Church officiating.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Trenton.

Richard G. Nowalk

POINT PLEASANT -- Richard G. Nowalk, 60, died Thursday at home.
Born in North Plainfield, he moved to Point Pleasant 30 years ago.
He was a self-employed certified public accountant in Cranbury.
He was a member of the Ocean Running Club and North Carolina Beach Buggy Association.
Mr. Nowalk graduated from Lehigh University, where he was a member of the lacrosse team.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Nowalk; two sons, Richard of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Peter of Cranbury; a daughter, Tricia Nowalk Billy of Point Pleasant Beach; and a grandson, Jake Billy.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Martha's Roman Catholic Church.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Pable-Evertz Funeral Home, 901 Beaver Dam Road.
