Freddie Butler Belk

RED BANK -- Freddie Butler Belk, 96, died Sunday at Riverview Hospital here.
Born in Dawson, Ga., she was a longtime Trenton area resident.
She was a nurse's aide at Trenton Psychiatric Hospital 10 years.
Mrs. Belk was a longtime member of Union Baptist Church of Trenton and later became a member of the Chambersburg Congregation of Jehovah's Witness. In Red Bank, she was a member of the Fair Haven Congregation of Jehovah's Witness.
She was educated in the Dawson school system.
Wife of the late Homer L. Butler Sr. and James Belk Jr., daughter of the late Elijah and Ollie Sapp and mother of the late Homer L. Butler Jr., she is survived by a son, James R. Belk III of Princeton; three daughters, Beulah Jackson of Red Bank, with whom she resided, Ula Bland of Ewing and Ruby Murray of Cherry Hill; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and other relatives.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Anderson Funeral Service, 300 N. Willow St., Trenton, with Brother Augustus Carter of Fair Haven Congregation of Jehovah's Witness, officiating.
Burial will be in Ewing Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Robert N. Bacher
02/26/00
MONROE -- Robert N. Bacher, 67, died Thursday at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center, New Brunswick.
Born in Jersey City, he was a longtime resident of East Brunswick before moving to Monroe 12 years ago.
Mr. Bacher was the president of Brunswick Tubular Corp. many years before retiring.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Bacher was a graduate of Saint Peter's College, Jersey City.
He enjoyed golf, fishing and was a craftsman of toy trains.
Husband of the late Judith Hyman Bacher, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Feryn Bacher of Allentown, Pa.; a daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Barry Nathanson of Monmouth Junction; a sister, Paula Diamond of Monroe; and four grandchildren, Danielle and Randy Bacher, Evan and Blaire Nathanson.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Jewish Center of Princeton, 435 Nassau St..
Burial will be in Beth Israel Memorial Park, Woodbridge.
The period of mourning will be observed Sunday through Tuesday at the Nathanson residence and on Monday at the Bacher residence in Allentown.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Sharing Network, 841 Mountain Ave., Springfield, N.J. 07081.
Arrangements are by Orland's Ewing Memorial Chapel.

Frances Argiro

MANSFIELD -- Frances Argiro, 78, died Thursday at home.
Born in New York City, N.Y., she was a resident of Manhattan and Brooklyn before moving to Homestead at Mansfield 14 years ago.
She was a seamstress for Ladies Garment Union, New York,25 years before retiring.
Mrs. Argiro was a member of Holy Assumption Catholic Church, Roebling.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Nicholas and Rose Ann Argiro of Islip Terrace, N.Y., and Peter Argiro of Columbus; two brothers, James Barrese of Freehold and Pasquale Barrese of Brooklyn; three grandchildren, Dominick, Patrick and Francine; a great-granddaughter, Alliyah; nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be 9 a.m. Monday from Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Ave., Roebling.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Assumption Church, 1290 Hornberger Ave.
Burial will be in Princeton Memorial Park, Washington Township.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, when a Christian Wake service will be offered.

Ralph Shaw III
02/27/00
TRENTON -- Ralph P. "Buddy" Shaw III, 56, died Saturday at Presbyterian Medical Center, Philadelphia.
Born in New Brunswick, he was a longtime area resident.
Mr. Shaw was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church.
He was a graduate of Trenton High School and a member of their undefeated basketball team, 1960-61.
Mr. Shaw was active in Ewing Township recreational programs.
Son of the late Ralph Jr., he is survived by his mother, Margaret Rastall Shaw of Trenton; two sisters, Barbara Shaw Bell of Forked River and Carol Shaw Carroll of Ewing; two nieces, Steffanie Jane Bell and Suzanne Erika Bell; two nephews, Thomas Owen Carroll III and Travis Matthew Carroll; and an aunt and uncle, Theodore and Vera Rastall.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 207 Hillcrest Ave.
The Rev. Ronald Bagnel, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Ringoes.
Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Wilson-Apple Funeral Home, Pennington.
Contributions may be made to Ewing Township Recreation Department, 103 Scotch Road, Ewing, N.J. 08618.

Peter Petrino
02/27/00
LOWER MAKEFIELD, Pa. -- Peter F. Petrino, 79, died Friday at home.
Born in Trenton, he lived in Lower Makefield 42 years.
Mr. Petrino retired as a project engineer for construction and planning at Fort Dix, N.J. Following his retirement, he was zoning officer for Lower Makefield Township.
In 1966, he received the Civilian of the Year Award at Fort Dix.
He began his career with the Army Corps of Engineers.
Mr. Petrino was an Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II, serving with the 404th Bombardment Squadron in the Aleutian Islands, Burma and India.
He graduated from Trenton High School and Drexel University.
Son of the late Peter and Mary Kenney Petrino, brother of the late Jane and Helen Petrino and grandfather of the late Julia Petrino, he is survived by his wife, Geraldine Lamsbach Petrino; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Jeffrey P. and Mary Petrino of Alexandria, Va., Michael K. Petrino of Burlington, N.J., and Philip G. Petrino of Lambertville, N.J.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Marianne Petrino of West Trenton, N.J., and Helen and Donald Zaluski of Mystic Island, N.J.; a brother, Michael Petrino of Trenton; three grandchildren, Brian Petrino, Dillon and Danielle Zaluski; and a niece, Karen Petrino of Trenton.
Funeral will be 9 a.m. Tuesday from FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home, 17 S. Delaware Ave., Yardley.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

William Olender

TRENTON -- William "Sealegs" Olender, 83, died Friday at Capital Health System at Mercer hospital.
Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Olender retired from Congoleum Co. of Hamilton Township in 1978 after 35 years.
He enjoyed salt-water fishing and was a CB radio operator, using the handle "Sealegs."
Son of the late Peter and Anna Dembinski Olender Dolewa, husband of the late Stephanie Slowikowski Olender and brother of the late John Olender, he is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Gerry Olender of Trenton and Bernadette and Larry Pietras of Hamilton; a sister, Alice Minich of Trenton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Peter and June Dolewa and Jules and Helen Dolewa, all of Hamilton; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be 9:15 a.m. Tuesday from Winowicz Funeral Chapel, 865 Brunswick Ave.
Liturgy will be 9:30 a.m. at St. Hedwig Roman Catholic Church, 872 Brunswick Ave.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Calling hours will be 5:30 to 8 p.m. Monday and 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Elsa Monge
02/27/00
PRINCETON BOROUGH -- Elsa Monge, 77, died Friday at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center, Philadelphia.
Born in Manabi, Ecuador, she was a longtime Princeton area resident.
Wife of the late Ernest Monge, she is survived by three sons, Ernest Monge of Princeton, Rodrigo and Edward Monge, both of California; three daughters, Josephine Monge of Princeton, Veronica Uscocovich of Metuchen and Rose Marie Kosu of Monroe, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 214 Nassau St.
Burial will be in Princeton Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Monday at Kimble Funeral Home, 1 Hamilton Ave., Princeton.
Memorial contributions may be made to Arthritis Foundation, 200 Middlesex Turnpike, Iselin, N.J. 08830.
