HAMPSTEAD, N.C. -- Jean Reikosky Winder, 75, died Sunday at Hanover Hospital, N.C.
Born in Trenton, she lived in Hampstead after moving from Yardley, Pa.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, William Winder; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Debbe of West Creek, N.J., and Brian and Elizabeth of Newark, Del.; and a sister, Norma Laurendeau of Ewing.
Services will be private.

Herbert J. Williams

TRENTON -- Herbert James Williams, 44, died Sunday at Capital Health System at Mercer hospital.
Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident.
He was educated in the Trenton public schools.
Son of the late Robert and Eala Smith Williams and brother of the late Thomas Moody, Cynthia Clark, Brenda and Jennifer Williams and Toni C. Wright, he is survived by a daughter, Cherise A. Williams of Trenton; five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Barbara Gaskins of Trenton, Sharon and George White-Johnson of Ewing, Denise and Brian Gibson of Ewing, Eala Johnson of Trenton and Traci Williams of Willingboro; two brothers, Malcolm Clark of Alexandria, Va., and Brian of Trenton; an aunt, Ludean Livingston; an uncle, Herbert J. Carmichael; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. today at Anderson Funeral Service, 300 N. Willow St., Trenton, with the Rev. Felton D. Rowe officiating.
Burial will be in Ewing Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 11 a.m. until time of service today at the funeral home.

James L. Totten, former E. Amwell mayor

FORT PIERCE, Fla. -- James L. Totten, 80, a former mayor of East Amwell, N.J., died Saturday at the Indian River Memorial Hospital, Vero Beach.
He worked 37 years for Prudential Insurance Co. and was a Hunterdon County under-sheriff before retiring. He lived in the Ringoes area of East Amwell before moving to Fort Pierce in 1987.
Mr. Totten served six years as East Amwell mayor and was past president of the New Jersey Association of Towns and Townships. He was named Citizen of the Year for 1999-2000 by the Flemington (N.J.) Elks.
He was a charter member of the Flemington Rescue Squad and served 49 years. He was past president of the Amwell Valley Fire Department and served on the East Amwell Board of Education. He was a longtime volunteer for youth baseball, serving many years as president of the Hunterdon County Little Bigger League and the South Hunterdon Little Bigger League. He also helped found the Amwell Valley Little Bigger League and was a baseball umpire for 47 years.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Amwell in Ringoes and the Lakewood Park United Methodist Church of Fort Pierce.
Son of the late Fred and Madge Wilson Totten and brother of the late Walter, he is survived by his wife, Mable Ferris Totten of Fort Pierce; a daughter, Connie Walker of Fort Pierce; three sons, James of Williamson, Ga., Ronald of Ringoes and Bruce of Flemington; four brothers, his twin, John, of Fort Myers, Albert of Middletown, Ohio, Fred of Florence, N.J., and R. Kenneth of Ringoes; two sisters, Katherine Bellis of Hackettstown, N.J., and Eleanor Kuntze of Glastonbury, Conn.; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147. N. Main St., Flemington.
Burial will be in Amwell Ridge Cemetery, Ringoes.
Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Matilda S. Solomon

MONROE TOWNSHIP -- Matilda Schwartz Solomon died Feb. 2 at home.
Born in Elizabeth, she lived in Rahway and Clark before moving to Monroe Township 14 years ago.
She worked for Food Fair and the American Flange Co.
Mrs. Solomon was a member of Hadassah, Council of Jewish Women, B'nai B'rith, Sisterhood of Temple Beth O'r in Clark, and the senior group of Monroe Township. At the Concordia Adult Community, she swam and played cards regularly.
She is survived by her husband, Irvin Solomon; a son and daughter-in-law, Stuart and Lori Solomon of Fair Lawn; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Dennis Turner of Scotch Plains; and four grandchildren, Danielle and Jared Turner and Nicole and Jeffrey Solomon.
Funeral was held Feb. 3 at the Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Burial was in Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Iselin.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Mercer County Chapter, 3076 Princeton Pike, Lawrenceville, N.J. 08648-2304.

Dorothy Meyers

CRANBURY -- Dorothy Carpenter Meyers, 83, died Monday at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold.
Born in Newark, she lived in Cranbury.
Mrs. Meyers graduated from Douglas College in 1939 with a degree in library science.
She was a children's librarian at East Orange Public Library and later a librarian at Harvard Business School. She also was a librarian at Miss Fine's School in Princeton and head librarian of Princeton Day School for about 10 years.
During the 1960s she created the first catalog of the Cranbury Public Library, using the Dewey Decimal System.
Mrs. Meyers was a member of the American Library Association and the First Presbyterian Church of Cranbury.
She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Robert M. Meyers; two daughters and a son-in-law, Karen Meyers of Philadelphia and Linda and Robert E. Crootof of Norwich, Conn.; three grandchildren, Sarah, Martha and Matthew Crootof; and two sisters, Jean Perry of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Virginia Halstead of Guilford, Conn.
Funeral will be noon Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church of Cranbury, 22 S. Main St.
Arrangements are by A.S. Cole Funeral Home.

Linda D. Madden

EWING -- Linda Darnell Bowen Madden, 46, died Saturday at Capital Health System at Mercer hospital, Trenton.
Born in Princeton, she was a lifelong Princeton and Ewing resident.
She was program manager at New Jersey Housing Mortgage and Finance Agency for 14 years.
A graduate of Ewing High School and the Settlement School of Music, Philadelphia, she attended Westminster Choir College of Princeton.
She was a member of Mount Pisgah AME Church and participated in its church school, youth fellowship, junior usher board and junior choir. She was director of the youth choir and was church organist for more than 20 years. She also sang with the Mount Pisgah Ensemble.
Granddaughter of the late Lina V. Jacobs, she is survived by her daughter, Memphis Lee; her parents, Samuel and Edna Bowen of Ewing; her brother, Ronnie Bowen; her paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Wyche of Princeton; five aunts and two uncles, Bertha Jacobs of Ewing, Mary Craig of Philadelphia, Addie Mary Jacobs of Berlin, Md., Hazel and Daniel Jacobs of Selbyville, Del., and Hattie and John Robert Jacobs of Berlin, Md.; three stepdaughters, Ashante, Minyette and Ajisa; a stepson, John; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Mount Pisgah AME Church, 170 Witherspoon St., with the Rev. Vernard Leak, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Ewing Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 11 a.m. Thursday until service at the church.
Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home, Trenton.

Doris Friedman Lubitz

SUNNY ISLES BEACH, Fla. -- Doris Friedman Lubitz, 81, died Sunday at The Medical Center at Princeton.
Born in New York City, she was a Trenton area resident before moving to Florida 25 years ago.
She and her late husband owned a wholesale and retail fruit and produce company for 50 years in Trenton.
Wife of the late Louis J. Lubitz, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Pamela Lubitz of West Windsor, N.J., and Philip Lubitz and Barbara Schlichting of Stockton, N.J.; a daughter, Susan Lubitz of Canton, Mass.; two brothers, Herman and Stanley Friedman of Ewing, N.J.; six grandchildren, Cynthia Milburn, Meredith, Steven and Su-Fen Lubitz, David and Rachael Slawsby; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral and burial will be 11 a.m. today at Knights of Pythias Cemetery, Pitman Avenue, Hamilton, N.J., with Rabbi Howard Hersch officiating.
A period of mourning will be observed at the Lubitz residence in West Windsor.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Arrangements are by Orland's Ewing Memorial Chapel, Trenton.
