MARIE ELIZABETH FUCHS, 92, of Brick, formerly of Fort Lee, died Dec. 6, 2002. She was predeceased by her husband, Elliott, in 1978. Mrs. Fuchs is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Mary Ann Fuchs of Brick; a sister, Frances Muise of Nova Scotia, Canada; cousins Richard and Dawn Fuchs, of Randolph, and Jacqueline of Bergenfield; and several nieces and nephews. Services were held at McCorry Brothers Funeral Home, Cliffside Park. Interment was in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.

JEAN L. MITE MARTIN, 68, of Brick died Dec. 6, 2002 at Medical Center of Ocean County, Brick. Born in Elizabeth, she lived in Brick before moving to Linden, and then returned to Brick in 1994. Mrs. Martin was a waitress at the St. George Diner, Linden, for many years, and then at the Cranford Diner, Cranford, before retiring in 1993. She was a communicant of St. Dominic’s Church, Brick, and was a member of St. Dominic’s Altar Rosary Society. She was predeceased by a son, Michael O. Martin, in 1999. Surviving are a son, John P. Martin of Cranford; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lin J. and Al Kolesa of Brick, and Meg and Eddie Regan of Point Pleasant; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Joan Mite of St. Augustine, Fla.; a sister and brother-in-law, Marion and Donald Dreyer of Cranford; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Services were held at O’Brien Funeral Home, Brick. Interment was in St. Anne’s Cemetery, Wall.

ELIZABETH REYMANN, 68, of Brick died Dec. 6, 2002 at home. Born in Edwardsville, Pa., she lived in Clark before moving to Brick seven years ago. She was a supervisor at Shering Plough, Kenilworth, for 37 years before retiring in 1990. Surviving are her husband, Charles Reymann; a daughter, Linda Reymann of Point Pleasant; her mother, Helen Shampack of Kingston, Pa.; three sisters, Eleanor Barrows of Pringle, Pa., Dorothy Shutlock of Luzerne, Pa., and Arlene Karalunas of Georgetown, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, Toms River, was in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Van Dyke Hospice, 99 Route 37 west, Toms River, NJ 08753.

JAMES A. GALLAGHER, 89, of Brick died Dec. 7, 2002 at home. Born in Burton Port, Ireland, he had lived in Roselle Park before moving to Brick in 1985. Mr. Gallagher was a plant superintendent at Interstate Iron Works, Hillside, for 28 years, retiring 24 years ago. He was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Roselle Park, and a communicant of Epiphany Church, Brick. He came to the United States from Ireland at the age of 16, working in the coal mines in Virginia. He then moved to New Jersey and was a professional boxer during the 1930s in the middleweight division, fighting out of Bayonne. He was predeceased by his first wife, Lillian, in 1998. Surviving are his wife, Elfreda Carnevale Gallagher; two sons, Neil Gallagher of New Hope, Pa., and Laurence Gallagher of Lebanon Lakes; a daughter, Joyce M. Germuska of Melbourne, Fla.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Epiphany Church, Brick. Entombment will follow in St. Gertude’s Cemetery, Colonia.

ROBERTA RINGWOOD, 66, of Brick, died Dec. 8, 2002 at Medical Center of Ocean County (Brick Hospital), Brick. Born in Elizabeth, she lived there and in Brick for the past 30 years. Mrs. Ringwood retired as an expediter for the Fluid Packaging Co., Lakewood, where she worked for more than 25 years. She was predeceased by her husband, John Ringwood, in 1998. Surviving are a son, John F. Ringwood Jr. of Fountain Inn, S.C.; and a brother, John Kozlowski of Monroe Township. A Mass was offered at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Elizabeth, followed by interment at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Elizabeth.

THOMAS W. O’TOOLE SR., 87, of Brick died Dec. 9, 2002 at Jackson Healthcare Center, Jackson. Born in Passaic, he lived in Asbury Park from 1935 to 1987 and in Wall Township since 1987, moving to Brick in 1995. He graduated from St. John’s High School, Paterson, where he was a star track athlete. Mr. O’Toole was a bus driver for Coast City Coaches, Neptune City, for four years. He retired from Camp Evans and Fort Monmouth Signal Corps after 30 years in the transportation department. He retired again after 13 years as a school bus driver for the Ocean Township Board of Education in Monmouth County. He was a former communicant of Holy Spirit Church, Asbury Park. He was a former member of the Holy Spirit Adult Choir and the Holy Name Society. He was predeceased by a great-grandson, Nicholas Chestnut, in 1999. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Philomena "Fanny" Vaccaro O’Toole; a son, Thomas W. O’Toole Jr. of Brick; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Richard White of Brick, and Joan and Robert Freeman of Neptune; a sister, Alice Sullivan of Asbury Park; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at Holy Spirit Church. Interment was in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Neptune. Memorial donations may be made to Holy Spirit Church Restoration Fund, 705 Second Ave., Asbury Park 07712.

EDWARD C. ERDMAN, 57, of Brick died Dec. 6, 2002 at Medical Center of Ocean County, Brick. Born in Newark, he lived in Point Pleasant before moving to Brick more than a year ago. Mr. Erdman was a self-employed scrap dealer, and was a former self-employed commercial fisherman and fish dealer. Surviving are his wife, Mary; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and David Demarest of Cream Ridge, and Cindy and Keith McCue of Brick; his mother, Maria Erdman of Calafon; a brother, James; and one grandchild. Services were held at Pable-Evertz Funeral Home, Point Pleasant. A private cremation followed.
