H. Herbert Allen
Repair Foreman
Wall Township resident H. Herbert Allen died Friday, June 15 in Meridian Hospice Center, Brick Township.
He was 91 years old.
Born in Allenwood, Mr.Allen lived in Manasquan before moving to Wall in 1988.
He was a graduate of Manasquan High School.
He was employed with New Jersey Bell, in the test bureau in Asbury Park. and as a repair foreman in Brick.
He was a long time member of the Manasquan United Methodist Church, serving as treasurer for 40 years, and was a member of the Methodist Men.
Mr. Allen was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers, Asbury Park, and was past master of the Allenwood Grange and Pomona Grange.
He was a member of the Manasquan First Aid Squad, serving as secretary for many years.
He was predeceased in 1987 by his first wife, Florence DeBow Allen.
Surviving are his wife Myrtle Newman Allen; one son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Bonnie, Vermont; two daughters and one son-in-law, Audrey and Richard Woolley, Maine, and Eileen Alpaugh., Neptune; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mr. Allen donated his body to the UMDNJ New Jersey Medical School, Newark.

H. Robert Sprenger
Loving Brother
Sparta resident H. Robert 'Bobby' Sprenger, whose sister is formerly of Spring Lake Heights, died Tuesday, June 19 in Newton Memorial Hospital, Newton.
He was 56 years old.
Born in Jersey City, Mr. Sprenger lived in Cedar Grove most of his life, before moving to Sparta in 1991 and Andover in 1997.
He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church, Cedar Grove.
He was a member of the third degree of the Knights of Columbus No. 3632, and of the N.J. Association of Retarded Citizens, both of Montclair.
He was predeceased in 1995 by his father, Harry, and in 1993 by his mother, Angela Doran Sprenger. Surviving are two sisters, Barbara Davino, Freehold, formerly of Spring Lake Heights, and Patricia Dykstra, Sparta; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are from the OıBrien Funeral Home, Wall Township.
Visiting hours are 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow in the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Cedar Grove.

Gladys M. Cosgrove
Retired Teacher
Manasquan resident Gladys M. Cosgrove died Monday June, 18 in Wiley Retirement Community, Marlton. She was 87 years old.
Born in Newark, Mrs. Cosgrove lived in Irvington and Springfield, before moving to Manasquan 20 years ago.
She was employed for many years as a teacher with St. Leoıs Parochial School, Irvington, before retiring in 1965.
She was a parishioner and active volunteer at St. Leo's Church, Irvington during the 1950s and 60s.
During the 1970s she attended St, James Church, Springfield.
She was a parishioner of St. Denis Church, Manasquan,and belonged to the St. Denis Senior Citizen Group.
She was a member of the Southern Monmouth Seniors Association.
She was predeceased in 1963, by her first husband, Raymond F. Herbert, and in 1992, by her second husband, John Cosgrove, and a brother, Daniel.
Surviving are one son, John Cosgrove, Keyport; three daughters, Carol Ann Tartis, Glen Gardner, Lynn Hughes, Medford, and Peggy Schnitzer, Westfield; one brother, Edward White, Vero Beach, Fla; one sister, Lillian Kautzman, New Jersey; eight grandchildren, John, Colleen, Carol, Jennifer, Sheila, Lynn, Kathy and Susan; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are from the OıBrien Funeral Home, Wall Township.
Visiting hours will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home.
A funeral service will be held at 8:45 a.m. tomorrow in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Denis Church, Manasquan.

Donald Aloysius Smith
Construction Contractor
Wall Township resident Donald Aloysius Smith died Monday, June 18 in Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
He was 63 years old.
Born in Neptune, Mr. Smith was a life-long resident of Wall Township.
He was a self-employed construction contractor for many years.
He was an Army veteran serving in the First Airborne Battlegroup, 503 Infantry during the 1960s.
He was a member of St. Uriel the Archangel Church, Sea Girt.
He was predeceased by his parents, Aloysius and Florence Carroll Smith.
Surviving are three sisters, Jean Bell, Colorado Springs, Carol Hand and Marilyn Smith, both of Manasquan; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are from the O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall.
A Requiem will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday in St. Uriel the Archangel Episcopal Church, Sea Girt.

Helen M. Fitzgerald

Manasquan resident Helen Martin Fitzgerald, died Tuesday, June 19, in the Medical Center of Ocean County-Brick Hospital.
Born in Georgetown, Ohio, Mrs. Fitzgerald lived in Cincinnati, before moving to Manasquan 53 years ago.
She attended Cincinnati University and Brookdale College.
She was the co-owner and partner, along with her husband, of Bob Fitzgerald Signs, Manasquan.
Previously, she was employed for many years as a retail sales clerk with Steinbachıs and Sternıs Department Stores.
She was predeceased in 1984 by her son, Michael Fitzgerald.
Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Robert M. Fitzgerald; one daughter-in-law, Linda Fitzgerald, Pennsylvania; and two grandsons, Robert,Washington State, and Ryan, Pennsylvania.
Funeral arrangements are from the OıBrien Funeral Home, Wall Township.
Visiting will be 9 to 10 a.m. tomorrow in the funeral home, followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m.
