Carmine J. Nappa
Former Councilman
South Belmar resident Carmine J. Nappa died Friday, Nov. 16 in his home.
He was 77 years old.
Born in Newark, Mr. Nappa moved to South Belmar in 1965.
He was employed as a civil engineer with the New Jersey Department of Transportation, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of the Wall United Methodist Church.
Mr. Nappa served for over 20 years as a South Belmar councilman, and served for 25 years as the commissioner with the South Monmouth Regional Sewage Authority.
He was a past commander of American Legion Post No. 151, Belmar, a life member of American Legion Post No. 346, Neptune, and was a member of the South Belmar Democratic Club.
He was an Army Air Corps veteran, serving during World War II.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Charlotte; two sons and daughters-in-law, Vincent and Valeria, South Belmar, and Robert and Kimberly, Glen Gardner; five grandchildren, Antoinette, Carmine, Aleksandr, Gabrielle, and Madilynn; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were from the Reilly Funeral Home, Belmar.

Margaret Ann Hyland

Wall Township resident Margaret Ann Hyland died Thursday, Nov. 15 in Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
Born in Harrison, Mrs. Hyland lived in Wall for the past 30 years.
She was a graduate of the Pratt Institute, New York.
She was a homemaker.
She was a longtime communicant of St. Catharine Church, Spring Lake.
She was predeceased in 1990 by her husband, Dr. Thomas J. Hyland.
Surviving are her sister, Sr. Mary Loretto Fahey, South Orange, and 21 nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements were from the O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall.

Harriet R. Kaney

Lakewood resident Harriet R. Morton Kaney, formerly of Manasquan, died Tuesday, Nov. 13 in Geraldine Thompson Nursing Home, Wall.
She was 84 years old.
Born in Neptune, Mrs. Kaney was a lifetime member of Manasquan before moving to Leisure Village, Lakewood, five years ago.
She vacationed at her home in Largo, Fla.
She was a member of the Manasquan United Methodist Church.
She was predeceased in 1996 by her husband, James R., Sr.
Surviving are one son, James R. Jr., St. Petersburg, Fla., one daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Thomas E. Hurley Sr., Lakewood; six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Harold J. McCallum

Spring Lake Heights resident Harold J. McCallum died Monday, Nov. 19 in Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
Born in Philadelphia, Mr. McCallum lived there and then in Nutley for 23 years before moving to Spring Lake Heights in 1984.
He had been employed for 33 years as a sales/service representative with George F. Pettinos Inc., Bala Cynwyd, Pa., retiring in 1989.
Previously, he had been employed for 17 years with Baldwin Lima Hamilton Corp., Chester, Pa.
He was a member of St. Catharine Church, Spring Lake.
He was a member of the Philadelphia Mummers, the Old Guard, Point Pleasant, the American Foundryman's Association, and was a life member for 34 years of Elks Lodge No. 1290, Nutley.
Surviving are his wife, Eve Hogg McCallum; one son, William, Somerset; one daughter, Trisha McCallum Derby, Brick Township; one brother, Edward, Hampton, Va., and three grandchildren, Adam, Katie, and John.
Funeral arrangements are from the O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall Township.
There are no visiting hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24 in St. Catharine Church, Spring Lake.
