OBITUARIES FROM THE YEAR 2000:

Helen D. Waters
BORDENTOWN —- Helen D. Waters died May 9 at her home.
Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong resident.
Mrs. Waters was a clerk with the New Jersey State Department of Labor for the past 12 years.
She is predeceased by her parents, Nicholas & Rose Tarnoski Fell, her brothers, Michael & John Fell, and her sisters Anna Catherine Fell and Marie Herrity.
She is survived by one sister, Rose Fifer of Hamilton Square and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Mary’s Assumption Byzantine Catholic Church, Trenton.
Interment was in Riverview Cemetery, Trenton.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Assumption Byzantine Catholic Church, 411 Adeline Street, Trenton, N.J., 08611.

Raymond R. Shinn
FLORENCE —- Raymond R. "Bob" Shinn, 66, died May 15 in Rancocas Hospital, Willingboro.
Born in Crosswicks, he had lived in Florence for the past 21 years.
He was a retired auto mechanic and an avid fan of the Indianapolis 500 auto race.
Mr. Shinn is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. Chorba Shinn; a son, Robert R. Shinn and his fiancee, MaryAlice Ivins of Marlton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Connie Marie and James Ruff of Gibbsboro and Jill and Douglas Shafer of Roebling; five sisters, Josephine Durcanin of Yardville, Viola Gamel of Columbus, Jane Brickner of Florence, Betty Carty of Columbus, and Bonnie Shinn of Bordentown Township; two brothers, Kenneth Shinn of Roebling and Dusty Shinn of Hedding; eight grandchildren, Mary Jo, Natilia, James and Matthew Ruff of Gibbsboro, Kyle and Claudia Shafer of Roebling, and Jennifer and Samuel Dioidato of Marlton; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Mary Chorba of Saylorsburg, Pa; a sister-in-law, Barbara Nelson of Saylorsburg, Pa. and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held May 18 at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks Street, Bordentown with the Rev. W. Garey Hope officiating. Internment will be held at the convenience of the family.
Relatives and friends may call the evening of may 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Florence Rescue Squad, Florence, N.J., 08518.

Kermit J. Asson
BORDENTOWN —- Kermit J. Asson, 46, of Bordentown, died May 10.
Born in Trenton, he has lived in Bordentown all of his life.
He was employed at Lawrenceville School and was a life member of the National Rifle Association.
Son of the late Kermit S. Asson, he is survived by his wife Dorothy Carr Asson; two sons and a daughter, Joshua, Matthew and Sarah Asson, all at home; his mother, Josephine M. Asson of Bordentown; a sister, Joanne Pigott of Burlington; and a brother, Michael Asson of Ewing.
Private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family with interment in Bordentown Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St., Bordentown.

Ralph L. Everham
FLORENCE —- Ralph L. Everham, 81, died May 10 at the Medford Convalescent Center.
Born in Burlington, he was a longtime Florence resident.
He retired from the Wall Rope Co., Beverly, before working 12 years as a security guard for Globe Security Co.
Son of the late William and Lillie Hutchins Everham and brother of the late Harry and Robert, he is survived by two sisters-in-law, Anna Everham of Mount Laurel and Helga Everham of Willingboro; an aunt, Gertrude L. Hutchins; and nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held at Dennison Funeral Home, Florence, with the Rev. Thomas Kinter officiating.
Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Lumberton.
Memorial contributions may be made to Florence United Methodist Church, Second and Broad streets, Florence, N.J. 08518.

Anna M. Bredbenner
BORDENTOWN TOWNSHIP —- Anna M. Bredbenner, 67, died May 10 at Chestnut Hill Hospital, Philadelphia.
Born in Trenton, she was a longtime Yardville resident before moving to Bordentown several years ago.
She was a deli worker for many delis including Wawa, Hamilton.
She was a member of the Jednota of SS Peter and Paul Church, Trenton Suburban Women’s Bowling Association and St. Raphael’s Church and its Altar Society.
Daughter of the late John and Mary Paulik Takacs and wife of the late Clarence F. Bredbenner, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Deanne and Garth Raymond of Bordentown Township; a son and daughter-in-law, William J. and Margaret Bredbenner of Hamilton; two grandchildren, Becky and Jeremy Raymond; a sister, Mary Whittaker of Hamilton; a sister-in-law, H. Marie Takacs; a brother-in-law, Harry Bredbenner; and other relatives.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Raphael’s Church, Hamilton.
Burial was in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Hamilton.
Arrangements were by Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home, Hamilton.

Esther Snead
FLORENCE —- Esther Puskas Snead, 85, died May 9 at Mercer Geriatric Center.
Born in Morrisville, Pa., she was a longtime Roebling resident.
She worked for Horsman Dolls Inc., Trenton, General Motors Corp. and Sanders Pizza.
Daughter of the late George and Julia Puskas and wife of the late William Snead, she is survived by a sister, Mary Kosztyu of Painter, Va.; two nephews, Ronald Kosztyu of Hamilton and John Kosztyu of North Hanover; and other relatives.
The funeral was held at Kutch Funeral Home, Trenton.
Burial was in Princeton Memorial Park, Washington Township.

Thomas M. Redmond
MANSFIELD —- Thomas M. Redmond, Sr., 75, died May 13 at home.
Born in the Bronx, N.Y., he lived in Branchburg before moving to Homestead at Mansfield 10 years ago.
Mr. Redmond retired as an insurance broker from Frank B. Hall & Co., New York City. Previously, he worked for Donald F. Smith & Associates Inc., Princeton.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was a member of Holy Assumption Catholic Church and music director of the Homestead Follies.
Mr. Redmond is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Millikin Redmond; five sons and two daughters-in-law, Thomas and Joanne of Middletown, William and Sandra of Morganville, John of Long Branch, Robert of Phillipsburg and Stephen of Rocky Hill; a sister, Jane Ferguson of Long Island, N.Y.; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Donald and Rehle of St. Louis, and Lawrence of Parlin; a brother-in-law, James Millikin of Mount Holly; four grandchildren, Sarah Mack, Caroline, Sean and Julian Redmond; and nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Holy Assumption Catholic Church.
Burial was in the Parish Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Assumption Catholic Church Security and Stability Fund, 1290 Hornberger Ave., Roebling.

Imre Mellary
ROEBLING —- Imre "Emery" Mellary, 91, died May 9 at Burlington Woods, Burlington Township.
Born in Budapest, Hungary, he lived in Germany before moving to Roebling in 1949.
He was a tailor for Cedar Gardens Men’s Shop, Hamilton, and Haveson’s Menswear, Trenton, before retiring.
Mr. Mellary was a member of the Holy Assumption Catholic Church and its Hungarian Choir.
Husband of the late Terezia "Terry" Mellary, he is survived by two nephews, Dr. Frank Matusik and his wife, Patricia Matusik, of Piscataway and Andrew Mellary of Toronto, Canada.
Funeral Mass was celebrated at Holy Assumption Catholic Church, Roebling.
Burial was private.
Arrangements were by Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, Roebling.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Assumption Catholic Church, 1290 Hornberger Ave., Roebling, N.J., 08554.

Carmelo Ramos
SOUTHAMPTON —- Carmelo "Carlos" Ramos, 70, died Friday in Willingboro.
Mr. Ramos owned and operated the Florence Liquor Mart in Florence.
He was also a pilot and an avid gardener.
He was a resident of Southampton for four years and previously lived in Cherry Hill over 25 years.
Husband of Olga (nee Araneda), he is also survived by two daughters, Nina Draper of Marlton and Sylvia Gast of Southampton; a brother, Max Ramos of Puerto Rico and four grandchildren, James, Jacqueline and Jennifer Draper, and Mathew Malloy.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. on May 18 at St. Joan of Arc Church, 100 Willow Bend Rd., Marlton.
Entombment will be at Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 410 White Horse Park, P.O. Box 159, Haddon Heights, N.J., 08034.
The funeral will be directed by Bradley Funeral Home, Marlton.

Livio Latini
HAMILTON -— Livio Latini, 83, died Sunday at Arcadia Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong Trenton and Hamilton area resident.
He retired from Crescent Wire Corp., Trenton.
Mr. Latini was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II, serving in England.
He was a member of St. Raphael Roman Catholic Church and the Hamilton Township Senior Citizens Club.
Son of the late August and Yolanda Vitangeli Latini and brother of the late Philip, Joseph, Thomas and Samuel Latini and Lena Bertolini, he is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elsie Orlandi Latini of Hamilton; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Gloria Latini of Hamilton; three brothers and six sisters-in-law, Chester of Trenton, Quinto of Trenton, August and Dorothy Latini of Hamilton, Mary Latini of Trenton, Mae Latini of Bordentown, Lydia Ercoli of Hamilton, Josephine Licciardello of Hamilton and Terry Orlandi of Whiting; three grandchildren; a great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held from Chamber D’Errico & Correnti Funeral Home, Trenton.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Raphael Roman Catholic Church, Trenton.
Burial was in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.
