AUGUSTUS J. MYERS, 85, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died May 31 in Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center, Edison. His wife, Ruth Gemeiner Heil Myers, died in 1987. Surviving are two stepsons, William Heil of Sayreville and Edward Heil of Roseland; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Services were arranged by Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin, with a Mass at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Private cremation followed.
THERESA CORVINO NICORVO
THERESA CORVINO NICORVO, 88, of Leola, Pa., formerly of South Amboy, died May 29 in Lancaster (Pa.) General Hospital. Surviving are her husband, Richard; a daughter, Tina M. Jones of Leola; a brother, John Corvino of South Amboy; a sister, Jean Halperin of South Amboy; and two grandsons. Services were arranged by Gundrum Service Home for Funerals, South Amboy, with a Mass at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Entombment was in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Fords section of Woodbridge.

MICHAEL J. ORSAG, 26, of Old Bridge died May 29 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Surviving are his parents, James and Donna Keiser Orsag of Drumore, Pa.; a brother, James III of Drumore; three sisters, Karen, Jennifer and Donna, all of Drumore; his maternal grandmother, Shirley Keiser of Old Bridge; his paternal grandmothers, Dorothy Deutsch of Cape Coral, Fla., and Eleanor Orsag of Metuchen; his maternal great-grandmother, Mary Ray of Old Bridge; and several cousins and nieces. Services were held at Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge. Interment was in Quarryville (Pa.) Cemetery.

WILLIAM P. POIGNONNEC, 87, of Milltown died May 25 in Summerhill Nursing Home, Old Bridge. His wife, Rita Sloan Poignonnec, died in 1995; a son, William, P. Jr., died in 1978; and a daughter, Jeanne Marie Clark, died in 1997. Surviving are a daughter, Maureen Barge of Pennsylvania; two sons, Michael Sloan of East Brunswick and Andrew Sloan of New Milford; a brother, Andre Poignonnec of Milltown; a sister, Jeannette Girard of Milltown; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services were arranged by Crabiel Home for Funerals, Milltown, with a funeral liturgy at Corpus Christi Church, South River. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, East Brunswick.

RICHARD J. ZIMMERMAN, 60, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died May 28 at home. Surviving are three sons, Richard of Piscataway, Ronald of the Columbus section of Mansfield and Raymond of Mantoloking; his mother, Elizabeth Zimmerman of Bayonne; two brothers, Thomas of Jersey City and James of Bayonne; and one granddaughter. Services were held at Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.

CHARLES EMIL BENTIVENGA, 66, of Sayreville died June 1 in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Surviving are his wife, Lois Redman Bentivenga; four sons, Charles Jr. of Old Bridge, Michael of Marriottville, Md., Christopher of Marlboro and Salvatore of Ellicott City, Md.; a daughter, Grace of Flemington; two sisters, Antoinette Arena of Lakehurst and Nancy Beaton of Houston, Texas; and 10 grandchildren. Services were arranged by Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick, with a Mass at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Entombment was in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

SOPHIE SWOWIK KORDOSKI, 87, of Sayreville died June 1 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Her husband, Raymond Kordoski, died in 1962, and a daughter, Margaret J. Lone, died in April. Surviving are three daughters, Genevieve Loprete of Freehold and Mildred Lyman and Elizabeth Kopera, both of the Toms River section of Dover; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Services were held at Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin section of Sayreville. Interment was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
MARY L. ZIEMBA WASILEWSKI
MARY L. ZIEMBA WASILEWSKI, 77, of Sayreville died June 1 at home. Surviving are her husband, Henry J. Wasilewski; a son, Gregory Wasilewski of Sayreville; a brother, Joseph Ziemba of Sayreville; and a sister, Louise Grodzki of Sayreville. Services were arranged by Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville, with a Mass at St. Stanislaus Church, Sayreville. Interment was in the church cemetery.
MARGARET CEREKWAS GRUSKA
MARGARET CEREKWAS GRUSKA, 80, of Valparaiso, Ind., formerly of South River, died June 2 in Porter Memorial Hospital, Valparaiso. Her husband, Steve Gruska, died in 1996, and a son, Thomas, died in 1981. Surviving are a daughter, Vivian Lukes of Valparaiso; a brother, George of South River; a sister, Olga O’Neill of Old Bridge; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services were arranged by Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick, with a Mass planned for June 8 at Corpus Christi Church, South River. Interment will follow in Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River.
Frank Cimato, 91

HILLSBOROUGH — Frank Cimato died Sunday, June 4, 2000, at Somerset Medical Center, Somerville. He was 91.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he lived in Scotch Plains for 30 years before moving to Hillsborough in 1980.
Mr. Cimato was an employee of Bell Labs AT&T in Murray Hill, and formerly with Western Electric in New York for 30 years of combined service before retiring in 1973.
He was a communicant of Mary, Mother of God Church in Hillsborough.
Surviving are his wife, Ethel Cimato; a son, Robert of Hillsborough; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 7, at Hillsborough Funeral Home, Hillsborough. Entombment will be in St. Bernard Mausoleum, Bridgewater.

AVELON — Herman C. Peters, 96, died Thursday, June 1, at his daughter’s and son-in law’s home in Avalon.
Born in Essel, Germany, he had lived in Allentown for more than 50 years before moving to Avalon two years ago.
He was a retired farmer and proprietor of Allentown Iron Works.
Husband of the late Erna C. Peters, he is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Evelyn W. and Johannes Engler and Eleanor M. Peters of Avalon; a granddaughter and her husband, Susan A. and Dr. Daniel G. Orr of Chester Springs, Pa., and two great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Samuel Orr.
Funeral service was held at Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown. Interment was in Princeton Memorial Park, Robbinsville.
