CECELIA MIODUSZEWSKI RUSZALA
CECELIA MIODUSZEWSKI RUSZALA, 88, of South Amboy died June 9 in Northern Manor Geriatric Center, New City, N.Y. Her husband, Martin Ruszala, died in 1982. Surviving are a daughter, Veronica "Ronnie" Mallon of New City; a son, Martin Ruszala of South Amboy; two sisters, Sophie Cieslarczyk of South Amboy and Martha Malowicki of Stafford, Va.; three brothers, Joseph Martin of South Amboy, Allen Mioduszewski of South River and Francis Martin of North Brunswick; and a grandson. Services were arranged by Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin, with a Mass at Sacred Heart Church, South Amboy. Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin section of Sayreville.
JOHN M. CORVINO
JOHN M. CORVINO, 82, of South Amboy died June 10 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Surviving are his wife, Margaret Quinlan Corvino; a son, John J. Corvino of Brick; a daughter, Debbie Pavlonnis of South Amboy; a sister, Jean Halperin of South Amboy; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services were arranged by Gundrum Service Home for Funerals, South Amboy, with a Mass planned for June 14 at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Entombment will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Fords section of Woodbridge.
Robert Andrews
Robert N. H. Andrews, formerly of New Hope, died Saturday, June 3, in Wilmington, N.C.
Mr. Andrews taught English at Solebury School, New Hope, from 1952 to 1954; Punahou School in Honolulu, Hawaii, from 1954 to 1956; St. Hilda’s and St. Hughes School in New York from 1956 to 1958; St. Timothy’s and Hale High Schools in Raleigh, N.C., from 1971 to 1986; Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa., from 1963 to 1968; and Lincoln University, Pa., from 1968 to 1971. Between 1963 and 1968, Mr. Andrews served as headmaster of the Harrisburg Academy, Wormleysburg, Pa.
After being diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 1986, he traveled throughout the United States and Canada.
A memorial gathering will be held on the beach at Ocracoke Island, N.C., Oct. 8 at 10 a.m.

Helen Cook
LAWRENCE — Helen N. Cook, 72, died Friday, June 9, at home.
Born in Princeton, she lived in Lawrenceville 42 years.
She retired as a teacher’s aide and library specialist from the Lawrence schools. Previously, she was a senior periodical specialist 14 years at Princeton University and taught at Sister Georgine Learning Center, Lawrenceville. She was a mentor for the Trenton schools.
She was a member of St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church and Lawrence Senior Citizens Club.
She enjoyed square dancing.
She graduated from Princeton High School, attended Princeton University and took courses in Heidelberg, Germany.
Daughter of the late Charles and Mary Parsons Nicholson, she is survived by her husband of 47 years, Alan F.; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Sandy and Peggy of New York City and Kevin of Los Angeles; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Roger Burkert of Ringoes; a sister, Elizabeth Allen of Ewing; four grandchildren, Richard, Christina, David and Rachel; and nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, Princeton. Private burial was at St. Paul’s Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Kimble Funeral Home, Princeton.

Mary Kollmer
FORKED RIVER — Mary Koppl Kollmer, 90, died Thursday, June 8, at Lacey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Forked River.
Born in Kotzting, Germany, she immigrated to the United States in 1929 and lived in Brooklyn and Delaware Township before moving to Lanoka Harbor last year.
Daughter of the late Johann and Creszenz Koppl and widow of George Kollmer, she is survived by a daughter, Maida Leberfinger Joyce of Lanoka Harbor; a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Alyce Kollmer of Durham, Pa.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Monday at Robert L. Ford Funeral Home, Raritan Township. Burial was in St. Magdalen’s Cemetery, Flemington.

Joseph Scheier
FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP — Joseph Scheier, 65, died Sunday, June 11, at home.
Born in Philadelphia, he lived in Rocktown, before moving to Raritan Township in 1951.
He attended Lambertville High School and graduated in 1953 from Flemington High School.
Mr. Scheier worked for Kuhl Corp., Raritan Township, and Riegel Paper Corp., Milford. He later was employed by Now Delpaggio, Taylor Chevrolet and Jenning’s Ford. He owned Joe’s Sunoco Servicenter in Raritan Township for 10 years and Joe Scheier’s Twelve Automotive, Franklin Township.
He was a member of the 100 Mile An Hour Club, Flemington, and won many events at Flemington Speedway. He raced four-cylinder cars with American Mini-Stock Association, won the club championship and was a past president.
He was a member of Flemington Elks Lodge 1929. He enjoyed golf.
He was the son of the late Joseph G. and Helen Kuhar Scheier and widower of Rae Scheier.
Surviving are his companion of seven years, Catherine Titus of Franklin Township; two sons, Joseph of Santa Paul, Calif., and Carl of Neshanic; a daughter, Christina H. Smith of Sergeantsville; three brothers, Thomas of Tucson, Ariz., Lawrence of Alpha and Richard of Yardley, Pa.; his stepfather, Joseph Masci of Raritan Township; a half-brother, John Masci, Jr. of Raritan Township; and five grandchildren.
The funeral will be held today (June 15) at 10 a.m. at the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, Flemington. Burial will be in Lower Amwell Cemetery, Delaware Township.

Marjorie Gulick
PENNINGTON — Marjorie Burd Gulick, 85, of Pennington, died Tuesday, June 6, at home.
Born in Woodsville, Hopewell Township, she was a longtime area resident before moving to Brooksville, Fla. She returned to the area five years ago.
Ms. Gulick was a bus driver with Hopewell Valley Regional School District and worked 35 years at Rockwell Manufacturing, Hopewell.
Daughter of the late Mabel and Fred Bird and sister of the late Ellsworth Burd and Doris Thornton, she is survived by two sisters, Hazel VanNess and Olive VanDyke, both of Pennington; seven brothers, Fred Jr. and Henry of Pennington, Donald of Lancaster, Pa., Joseph of Lambertville, Clinton of Frankford, Del., Carl of Swain, N.Y., and Edgar of Titusville; and nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Friday at Blackwell Memorial Home, Pennington, with the Rev. James Hofacker, pastor of Pennington United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in Harbourton Cemetery, Hopewell Township.

Alice Jobes Reeder
FLORENCE — Alice Jobes Reeder, 65, died June 10 at home.
Born in Fieldsboro, she lived in Roebling for the past 38 years.
Mrs. Reeder was a homemaker. She loved plants and gardening.
Daughter of the late Lewis and Rebecca McDaniels Jobes, wife of the late John T. Reeder Jr. and sister of the late Robert L. Jobes, she is survived by five sons and three daughters-in-law, John III and Cathe Reeder, David and Terri Reeder, all of Florence, Steven and Marianne Reeder of Pinnacle, N.C. and James and Edward Reeder of Roebling; a daughter, Nancy Biocco of Roebling; three sisters, Helen Reed of Willingboro and Betty Lou Meszaros and Shirley Fiscor of Roebling; two brothers, James E. Jobes of Washington and Jack E. Jobes of Roebling; and nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held at Dennison Funeral Home, Florence.
Burial was in Bordentown Cemetery.

Alice M. Lenox
BORDENTOWN CITY — Alice M. Lenox, 86, died June 9 at St. Francis Medical Center, Trenton.
Born in Trenton, she was a longtime Bordentown area resident.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Hope Hose-Humane Fire Co. No. 1 Ladies Auxiliary.
Wife of the late Harold E. and mother of the late Robert G. Sr., she is survived by three sons, Harold J. of Yardville, Gerald G. of Bordentown City and James D. of Browns Mills; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Robert Mercantini of Hamilton; a brother, John S. Brower of Southampton; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
The funeral was at the Huber-Moore Funeral Home. Burial was in Bordentown Cemetery.
Theresa J. Marut
NORTH HANOVER — Theresa J. Marut, 81, died June 8, at home.
Born in Trenton, she was an area resident before moving to Wrightstown 13 years ago.
She was a homemaker and member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Jobstown.
She is survived by two daughters, Doris Marut of Trenton and Evelyn Marut of Wrightstown; a sister, Marie Green; a nephew, William Green, both of Baltimore; and friends, Joan Dempsey, Mary Uveges and Kay Knoblauck.
The funeral was held at Tilghman Funeral Home, New Egypt.
Burial was in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Hamilton.
