MARGARET MARY GULBRANDSEN MCCARTHY, 90, of Sea Bright, died Nov. 27 at Meridian Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Red Bank. Born in Sea Bright, she previously lived in Brooklyn and Maspeth, N.Y., and resettled in Sea Bright 35 years ago. She was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband Dennis P. McCarthy, in 1980; two brothers, Arthur A. and George A. Gulbrandsen; a sister, Lillian M. Grassin; and two nephews, Vincent F. Brier and Arthur J. Gulbrandsen. She is survived by two nieces, Barbara Ross of Brooklyn, and Mary Ellen Grassin of Sea Bright; a nephew, Dr. Fredrick Grassin of New Port Richey, Fla.; and a sister, Elizabeth Bergen of Brooklyn. JACK MICHAEL WYNNE, 2, of Freehold died Aug. 18 at St. Peter’s Medical Center, New Brunswick. He was born in Red Bank. He is survived by his parents, William and Anita Kehlenbach Wynne of Freehold; a brother, Derek Wynne of Freehold; his maternal grandparents, Heinz and Waltraud Kehlenbach of Parlin; his paternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Alma and Winnie Wood of Little Silver; his paternal grandfather and step-grandmother, Bill and Sue Wynne of Red Bank; his great-grandmother, Rosa Braun Fanderl of Germany; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. KATHY G. MOLTISANTI PREHART, 41, of Middletown died Sept. 1 after an automobile accident in Tinton Falls. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and lived in Holmdel prior to moving to Middletown 11 years ago. She was a graduate of Brookdale Community College, Lincroft, and an office worker for Lucent Technologies, Holmdel, until 1998. She was predeceased by her father, Anthony Moltisanti, in 1997. She is survived by her husband, Richard Prehart Sr. of Middletown; a son, Richard Prehart Jr.; and daughter, Jacqueline Prehart, both of Middletown; her mother, Anna Moltisanti of Holmdel; and two sisters, Maria Gingerelli of Howell, and Christine Flynn of Watchung. JOSEPH DONALD FRIES, 80, of Matawan, died Aug. 26 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was born in Ridgewood and resided in Matawan since 1962. He was the owner and operator of Taylor Made Boat Curtains, Matawan. He was a U.S. Marine from 1941-45. He served during World War II, in the 5th Marines 28th Division in Iwojima, and received the Purple Heart. He was predeceased by his parents, Donald A. and Maebelle Shields Fries. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy Schuring Fries of Matawan; a son, Donald A. Fries of Matawan; four daughters, Daren Hutchinson of Rumson, Patti Fries of Bayville, Nancy Dowd of Island Heights, and Carol F. Dugan of Freehold; a sister, Dorothy Sheils of Greenville, R.I.; and nine grandchildren. Services were arranged by Bedle Funeral Home, Matawan. CLARA "CUDDY" GHEZZI, 88, of Hillsborough died Aug. 31 at Somerset Medical Center, Somerville. She previously resided in Rumson 51 years before moving to Hillsborough. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. George’s by the River Episcopal Church, Rumson. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph J. Ghezzi; a sister, Elise Spice; and her parents, Helen Register and Wilbur Felix Spice. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, JoAnne and Wallace W. ROBERT E. VOGEL, 63, of Shrewsbury died Aug. 31 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Newark, he lived in Red Bank and Union before moving to Shrewsbury in 1967. He was a funeral director for the John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, for 33 years upon retirement in January. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Shrewsbury. He was also a member of the Morning Claybird Shooting Club, Rumson, as well as an avid fisherman. He was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Carol Vogel. He is survived by his daughter with whom he lived, Karin Vogel of Shrewsbury; a son, William J. and daughter-in-law Marie Vogel of Reading, Pa.; a sister, Shirley and brother-in-law Walt Hansen of Bolton, Mass.; his best friend, Mary Lou Mason; five nieces and nephews; 12 great-nieces and great-nephews; and his former wife, Nancy Loebel of North Long Branch. NATALIE BOSSERT SOMERVILLE, 85, of Fair Haven died Sept. 6 at home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she lived in Columbus, Ohio; Middletown and Rumson before moving to Fair Haven in 1990. She was a real estate salesperson for Applebrook Realty, Rumson. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles V. and Natalie Bossert; her first husband, John Heermans Jr.; a brother, Louis Bossert; and a sister, Isabelle Ruddy. She is survived by her husband, John S. ROBERT ALEXANDER MacNUTT, 50, of Eatontown died Sept. 6 at home. Born in Philadelphia, he lived in Tinton Falls before moving to Eatontown five years ago. He was employed by Saturn of Eatontown, and previously worked in the restaurant business for 20 years, and Foggia Florists, Oceanport. He was an Eagle Scout of Troop No. 100. He was predeceased by his father, William J. MacNutt, in 1999. He is survived by his mother, Jane McConaghy MacNutt of Tinton Falls; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Pamela MacNutt of Perkinsville, Vt.; his fiancée, Linda Dailey; and two nieces. CARROLL R. PHARR, 66, of Eatontown died Oct. 7 at home. Born in Newton, N.C., he lived most of his life in Eatontown. He was a security officer at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, for 13 years. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member and past commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2226 in Oakhurst. He was predeceased by his father, Emmitt Pharr; and his mother, Louella Jenkins. He is survived by two daughters, Leslie Pharr of Middletown, and Carol Jean Pharr; a brother, Norris H. HELEN B. BERGH HUFF, 91, of Fair Haven died Oct. 4 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Chicago, she lived there until relocating to Fair Haven 11 years ago. She was an administrative assistant for the Chicago Board of Education. She was a communicant of the Edgebrook Evangelical Covenant Church, Chicago. She was a member of the Fair Haven and Red Bank Seniors. She was predeceased by her husband, Gardner P. Huff, in 1971; and her parents, William and Margaret Keyl Bergh. She is survived by two sons, Richard B. and daughter-in-law JoAnn M. Huff of Fair Haven, and Terry A. Huff of Lake Tahoe, Nev.; two sisters, Eleanor Martin and Lillian Nelson, both of Chicago; and two grandchildren. Services will be Oct. 14, at the John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. CHARLES RICHARD ADAM, 74, of Sanibel Island, Fla., died May 5. Mr. Adam was a former resident of Woodstock, Vt., Middletown and Rumson. He moved to Monmouth County in 1960. He was a graduate of Ridgewood High School and participated in the V12 Education Program, and attended RPI in New York and Stevens Tech. He served as a U.S. Naval Aircraft Gunner and ordinance man during World War II. He was co-founder and owner of COMAR Industries, a subcontractor to U.S. Rubber, and was the co-founder and owner of Cascade Industries/Buster Crabbe Swimming Pools International. During this time, Mr. Adam helped design and manufacture the bellows apparatus for the Iron Lung Breathing Machine. Mr. Adam loved woodworking and woodcarving. He was a talented furniture and oil painting restorer, and an ardent antique and art collector. He recently participated in online auctions. He was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors. He spent his early childhood in Cleveland, Ohio, and was a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Indians. Mr. Adam was predeceased by his parents, Sarah and George G. Adam. Surviving are his wife, Marie T. Adam; a son and daughter-in-law, George C. and Cordie Adam, of Middletown; a stepdaughter and son-in-law, Catherine B. and Brad Thorpe, of Fair Haven; a stepson and daughter-in-law, J.P. and Maria Baar, of Miami, Fla.; a sister, Donna Fleming, of San Diego, Calif.; and grandchildren, Charles "Chase" Adam, Chelsea and Cameron Thorpe, and J.P.
