Lawrence Niezgoda
MANVILLE, NJ - Lawrence "Larry" Niezgoda, age 47 years, of Manville, NJ, died Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at his residence.
He was born in New Brunswick, NJ, August 21, l964, son of the late Francis and Doris Johnson Niezgoda, and was a graduate of Piscataway High School. and was formerly employed in the food service industry.
He was pre-deceased by two brothers, William Niezgoda, who died in 2008 and Ronald Niezgoda, who died in 2009.
Surviving are four brothers, Robert and his wife, Audrey, of Clinton, NJ, James of Raritan, NJ, Thomas of Somerset, NJ and Michael of Bound Brook, NJ.
Memorial services will be held Friday, June 8, 2012, at 7:00 PM in the Shepherd Of The Valley Church, 45 Spring Mills Road, Milford, NJ. Interment
will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
Claire H. Cahill
CLINTON TOWNSHIP, NJ - Claire H. Cahill, age 90 years, of Clinton Township, NJ, died on Sunday, June 3, 2012, in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Newark, NJ, May 7, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Helen Anderson Headley. She had formerly resided in Cranford, NJ and Rahway, NJ before moving to Clinton Township in 1997.
A past member of the 1st Presbyterian Church, Rahway, NJ, Mrs. Cahill was a nurse's aide for sixteen years in Rahway Hospital, Rahway, NJ, before retiring in 1985.
She was pre-deceased by her husband of forty-five years, John W. Cahill, who died in 1987 as well as by two siblings, William A. Headley in 2001 and Helen A. Lewis in 1988.
Surviving are her children and their spouses, John W. Cahill, Jr. and Patricia of Madeira Beach, FL, Brian R. and Vikki Cahill of Bushkill Falls, PA and Helen C. and Hans Diesel of Clinton Township, NJ; a brother, Fred C. Headley, Jr. of Bluffton, SC; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will take place Friday at 11:30 a.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ preceded by visitation from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Interment

Stanley Robert Morrison
RARITAN TOWNSHIP, NJ - Stanley Robert Morrison, age 87 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Carbondale, PA on December 27, 1924, son of Anthony Morrison and Stella Knapick Morrison, he had resided in Raritan Township for the past twenty-two years. He had formerly lived in Carbondale, PA, Manville and Somerville, NJ.
He attended Bound Brook High School before enlisting as a paratrooper in the Army in 1943 during World War II where he served as a Rifleman PFC in Parachute Rifle Company A of the 513th Parachute Infantry Regiment in the 17th Airborne Division. He saw active duty in battles and campaigns in Central Europe, the Rhineland and the Ardennes. On January 15, 1945, he was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge of the Ardennes campaign in Belgium for which he received a Purple Heart. He received numerous other decorations and citations during his military service.
After the war, he went onto college and received an Associate's degree from John Marshall School of Law in Jersey City, NJ and then went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ.
After college, Mr. Morrison was employed by the Somerset County Welfare Board from 1950-1963, first as a counselor and then as the Board Supervisor. From 1963-1973 he worked in the men's retail clothing business, most notably he was a partner with his brother, Edward Morrison at Morrison's Men's Shop in Somerville, NJ from 1963 until 1967 when the business was sold.
From 1974-1990, Mr. Morrison was employed by the New Jersey State Department of Health, first as a Field Representative in the Division of Narcotics and Drug Abuse Control and later as a Senior Field representative for the Departments Health Facilities Evaluation Unit.
Mr. Morrison's interests and hobbies included fishing and gardening after his retirement as well as attending many Company "A" Army reunions which have been held continuously since 1948.
His wife of fifty-seven years, Rosemarie Arena Morrison, died in 2007.
Surviving are two sons, Brian and Garry Morrison, both of Flemington, NJ and a daughter, Sandra Morrison of Lahaska, PA.
A Memorial Service with Inurnment will be held Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Magdalen Mausoleum, North Main Street, Flemington, NJ. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.

Helma Erna Blackman
EAST AMWELL TOWNSHIP, NJ - Helma Erna Blackman, age 80 years, of East Amwell Township, NJ, died on Wednesday, June 5, 2012 in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Hoboken, NJ, November 17, 1931, daughter of the late Herman and Erna Umland Heinsohn, she had resided in East Amwell Township since 1983, having formerly lived in Westfield, NJ.
A Homemaker, her daughter, Lynda Ann Blackman died in 2004.
Surviving are her husband of sixty years, Fred A. Blackman; a son and daughter-in-law, William and Jacalyn Blackman of Raritan Township, NJ; and a grandson, William Blackman, Jr. and granddaughter, Madeline Blackman, both of Raritan Township, NJ.
Funeral Services will take place Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment
will follow in Lake Nelson Memorial Park, Piscataway, NJ. Calling hours will be Sunday from 1:00-4:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home.

James J. Lechner
PITTSTOWN, NJ - James J. Lechner, age 89 years, of Pittstown, NJ, died on June 8, 2012. He was born in Dunellen, NJ, March 17, 1923, son of the late John and Margaret Lovedy Lechner, he had resided in Pittstown, NJ for the last forty-two years.
A United States Army Veteran of World War II, he was the former owner and operator of Jim's Body Shop, Elizabeth, NJ. He was an avid pigeon flyer belonging to the Elizabeth Pigeon Club and the Hunterdon Flyers.
His true pride, besides his family, was the family farm in Pittstown, NJ where he loved spending all of his time.
He was pre-deceased by five brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are his devoted wife of forty-two years, Carole Kemper Lechner; his son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Nicole Lechner; grandson James Clark Lechner; a brother-in-law, Charles Meszaros of Wellington, FL and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia, NJ. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the cemetery office on Wednesday.

Douglas A. Nodes
FLEMINGTON, NJ - Douglas A. Nodes, age 69 years, of Flemington, NJ, died Thursday, April 12, 2012, at the home of his daughter in Tinicum Township, Pa.
Born in New Brunswick, NJ, July 4, 1942, son of the late William and Hazel Parse Nodes, he had resided in Flemington forty-nine years. He retired from the Delaware Township Public Works Department in 2008.
An avid outdoorsman, he was a Past President of the Barbertown Sportsman's Club; life member of the National Rifle Association; member of the West Norton Deer Club and was a life member of both Buckmasters and Bassmasters and the Round Valley Trout Club. He was also a member of the Flemington Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of forty-nine years, Kathleen Thatcher Nodes; two daughters and a son-in-law, Tammy and Mark Cunningham of Upper Black Eddy, Pa. and Linda Kovacs of Flemington, NJ; four grandchildren, Katie Cunningham, Collin Cunningham, Cynthia Kovacs and Justin Kovacs; three brothers, Melvin Nodes of Punta Gorda, FL., Wendell Nodes in Alabama, and Ralph Nodes of Vinton, VA.; and two sisters, Marion DeFiore of Piscataway, NJ and Virginia McKimm of Hillsborough, NJ.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at 11:00AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ, followed by interment in Cherryville Cemetery, Cherryville, NJ.
