Florence E. Rake
FLEMINGTON, NJ - Florence E. Rake, age 83 years, of Flemington, NJ, died on Sunday, September 9, 2012, in the Country Arch Care Center, Union Township, NJ.
Born in Flemington, NJ, March 21, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Asa and Eva Danberry Seals.
She worked for Mannon Excavating, Flemington, NJ for thirty years and was a member of the Flemington Baptist Church.
Her husband, Harry Rake, Jr. died in 1984, and a son, Roger Rake, died in 2005. Surviving are two sisters, Emma Enea and Thelma Kentnor, both of Flemington, NJ; a brother, Ron Seals, of Forty Fort, PA; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 2 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment
will be in Frenchtown Cemetery, Frenchtown, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 1-2 PM in the funeral home.
Robert A. Mulligan
READINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ - Robert A. Mulligan, age 87 years, of Readington Township, NJ, died on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at his home.
Born on February 16, 1925 in New Brunswick, NJ, son of the late Thomas and Katherine Kelly Mulligan, he had resided in Readington Township for the past forty-seven years.
A United States Navy veteran of World War II, Mr. Mulligan was a sprinkler fitter with the National Automatic Sprinkler Fitters Union, Local # 696, for over fifty years.
He greatly enjoyed working outdoors on his yard in Readington and during the 1950’s, he played halfback for NY/NJ State Pro League for the Plainfield Saracens and the Plainfield Raiders.
His wife, Eleanor Golcheski Mulligan, died in 2005.
Surviving are his children, Arlene Meyers of Troy, OH, Thomas Mulligan of Robbinsville, NJ, Daniel Mulligan of Readington, NJ, Linda Miller of Ewing, NJ, John Mulligan of Panama City, FL, Kathleen Hindle of Flemington, NJ, James Mulligan of Lewisburg, PA, Carol Wayman of Crestview, FL, Jean Demarest of Oak Ridge, NC, Patricia Mulligan of Three Bridges, NJ and Kenneth Mulligan of Flemington, NJ; two brothers, Thomas Mulligan of Hemet, CA and George Mulligan of Panama City, FL; twenty-two grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial
will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the Church on Saturday morning. Interment
will follow in Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge, NJ. Calling hours will be Friday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home.

Wallace J. Cullen
RARITAN TOWNSHIP, NJ - Wallace J. Cullen (Wally) died peacefully surrounded by his family on August 24, 2012 at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township. He was 89.
Married 66 years, Wally was the beloved husband of Jo Cullen and the devoted father of five children and nine grandchildren.
He served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific theater and was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Medal and the Philippine Liberation ribbon. He participated in many engagements including the D-day invasion on Mindanao Island in the Pacific.
He was the founder and CEO of Mechanical Precision, Inc. on Hopewell Avenue in Flemington. His company provided precision machining services for businesses throughout the United States. Over the last half century, he saw the “family business” grow to over 50 employees and was actively involved until his recent illness.
His career involved work with the Manhattan Project, missiles during the cold war, equipment of nuclear power plants, and orthopedic implants and provided precision machining services for companies throughout the United States .
Wally was a longtime member of the Flemington chapter of the Lion’s Club and also served for 12 years on the Raritan Township Board of Adjustment.
Surviving are his wife, Jo Cullen; daughters Joanne Cullen Jacoby, Linda Cullen Alexander, and Kim Cullen Black; sons Wallace, Jr. and Michael; and grandchildren Joseph Jacoby, Katharine Jacoby, Sarah Jacoby, Jessica Cullen, Lindsay Cullen, Courtney Alexander, Kerry Cullen and Joshua Cullen, and Alex Lawton; and a brother, Norman Cullen.

will be held Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at 10:00 AM in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Tuesday 2:00-4:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment
will be private.

Irene Dilts Knoster
LAMBERTVILLE, NJ - Irene Dilts Knoster, age 94 years, of Lambertville, NJ, died on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at her home.
Born in Lambertville, NJ, June 4, 1918, daughter of the late Edward P. Ottarson and the late Myra Dilts Ottarson Smith, she had resided in Lambertville for the past year, having formerly lived most of her life in Delaware Township, NJ.
Mrs. Knoster was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse, having worked for Doylestown Hospital, Doylestown Manor Nursing Home and she had also worked as a private duty nurse.
A longtime member of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church, Sandy Ridge, NJ, she had formerly served as Deacon and also sang with the choir. She enjoyed canning, crocheting, oil painting, spending time with her cherished family and was very active with the Delaware Township Seniors.
Her husband of sixty-two years, Edward William Knoster, died in 1999. Additionally, a son-in-law, Warren Greene, died in 1996.
Surviving are three daughters and a son-in-law, Sylvia Anne Rea of Doylestown, PA, Joan Christine Greene of Ringoes, NJ and Kathy Phoebe Horne and Jay Horne of Raritan Township, NJ; eleven grandchildren, Wesley Bellis Bodine, Mark Benjamin Bodine, Nyla Jean Yannarella, Lisa Irene Kilgore, April Anne Waldron, Scott Warren Greene, Kelli Lynne Greene, Edward Randolph Wooden, Deborah Ann Quinn, Heather Ann Becker and Renee June Wooden; sixteen great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will take place Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in Sandy Ridge Baptist Church, 47 Sandy Ridge Road, Delaware Township, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment
will follow in Sandy Ridge Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Church beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. There will be no other calling hours.

Govinda Prasad Sharma Bhandary
MORANG, NEPAL - Mr. Govinda Prasad Sharma Bhandary, age 64 years, of Morang, Nepal, died on Thursday, September 6, 2012 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was a Teacher in Nepal. Surviving are his wife, Jamuana Bhandari Bhandary as well as many family and friends, both in Nepal and the United States.
A Prayer Service will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Ewing cemetery and Crematory, 78 Scotch Road, Ewing, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
Maria Shevelev
RARITAN TOWNSHIP, NJ - Maria Shevelev, age 84 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, formerly of Roselle, NJ, died on Friday, September 14, 2012 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Hamilton, NJ.
Born in Germany, she was the daughter of the late August and Josepha Windeler.
She was a retired lab technician with Western Electric, AT &T;, and Lucent.
She was a devoted and loving mother and member of the Hunterdon County Seniors Group.
Her husband, Theodore Shevelev, died in 1987. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Richard Busch of Raritan Township, NJ; three sons and daughters-in-law, Manfred and Carol Shevelev of Hamilton Township, NJ, Richard and Rosemarie Shevelev of Waverly, AL, and Michael Shevelev and Debbie Colantuoni of Point Pleasant, NJ; a brother, Hans Windeler, of Germany; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren, and her little Max.
