AVENEL, NJ - Hilda Rita Maloney, age 86 years, of Avenel, NJ, died on Sunday September 9, 2012 at the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born at home in Elizabeth, NJ, August 21, 1926, daughter of the late John and Mary Anzovinzo Dittello, she had resided in Flemington for the past two years, having spent most of her life in Avenel, NJ.
Her husband of over fifty years, Stanley C. Maloney, died in 1997.
Surviving re two sons- and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey Thomas and Susan Maloney of Flemington, NJ and Kevin Patrick and Donna Maloney of Jackson, NJ; and two grandsons, Michael and Brian Maloney.
Funeral arrangements will be private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.

SOUTHAMPTON, PA. - I. Elsie Miller, age 89 years, of Southampton, PA., formerly of Flemington, NJ, died Tuesday, August 21, 2012, in Doylestown Hospital, Doylestown, PA.
Born in Readington Township, NJ, November 6, 1922, daughter of the late Carl and Bessie Higgins Locke, she formerly resided in Flemington, NJ, for many years before moving first to Solebury Township, Pa. and then to Southampton, Pa.
She formerly operated Sunshine Motel, Three Bridges, NJ; was formerly a realtor; formerly was employed by the NJ Motor Vehicle Agency and also the Hunterdon Credit Bureau. She operated the Shoetique Store, Flemington, NJ for seventeen years until retiring.
She was a former member of the Soroptimist Club of Hunterdon County; former member of Copper Hill Country Club, Flemington, NJ and was also a former member of the Flemington United Methodist Church.
Her first husband, Stanley H. Barrick, died in 1980 and her second husband, George Miller, died in 2008. She was also pre-deceased by a sister, Verna Skinner and a step-daughter-in-law, Lou Ann Adams.
Surviving are a son, Carl L. Barrick of Mechanicsburg, PA.; a daughter, Betty Ann Furan and her husband, Marty, of Lambertville, NJ; two step-sons, Robert Miller of Doylestown, PA. and Glenn Miller of Birmingham, MI.; and a stepson-in-law, Robert J. Adams of Milford, NJ. Also surviving are two step-grandchildren, Christopher Adams and Jenny Adams, and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 24, 2012, at 11:00 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ, followed by interment in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Friday 10:00 - 11:00 AM.
Michael J. Marnel
EAST AMWELL TOWNSHIP, NJ - Michael J. Marnel, age 68 years, of Ringeos, NJ (East Amwell Township), died Friday, September 7, 2012, at his home.
A graduate of Churchman's Business School, Easton, PA, he was born in Phillipsburg, NJ, November 24, 1943, son of the late Walter H. and Anne Macaulay Marnel, he had formerly resided in Phillipsburg, NJ, then in Clinton, NJ, and had resided in Ringoes forty years.
He was formerly a carpet installer for The Rug Mart/Carpet One, Flemington, NJ and later was a salesperson there until retiring three years ago.
An avid fisherman, camper and NASCAR fan, he was a member and former treasurer of the Amwell Valley Fire Company, Ringoes, NJ and was twice selected as, "Fireman Of The Year". He was also a former fireman for eight years at Flemington Speedway.
Surviving are his wife of forty-nine years, Virginia "Cookie" Freeland Marnel; three daughters and sons-in-law, Michele and John Combs of Ewing, NJ, Jennifer and George Price of Flemington, NJ and Christine and Corey Colaluce of Alpha, NJ, and three grandchildren, Cecelia Colaluce, Colton Colaluce and John Combs IV.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 12 Noon in Union Cemetery, Ringoes, NJ, under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Sunday 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

June Cathers Mathews
DELAWARE TOWNSHIP, NJ - June Cathers Mathews, age 81 years, of Rosemont, NJ, died on Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Stockton, NJ, August 1, 1931, daughter of the late Horace and Eleanor Sillery Cathers, she had resided most of her life in Stockton, NJ and later in Rosemont, NJ and was a homemaker.
Her husband, Donald L. Mathews, Sr., died in 1998 and a daughter, Donna Mathews, died in 2008.
Surviving are two sons, Donald L. Mathews, Jr. and his wife, Alexandra Phieler Mathews of Kingwood, NJ and James M. Mathews and his wife, Nora Zucchero Mathews of Sergeantsville, NJ. Also surviving are five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 25, 2012, at 11:00 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment
will be private in Rosemont Cemetery, Rosemont, NJ. Calling hours will be Saturday 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the funeral home.

Rose Schmid
RARITAN TOWNSHIP, NJ - Rose Schmid (Kadezabek), age 86 years, passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at her home in Ringoes, NJ.
Rose was born April 9, 1926 in Garfield, NJ to the late Joseph and Mary Gregor Kadezabek. The family later moved to Copper Hill where they operated a small farm. Rose married
Robert Schmid on April 26, 1947 and remained in the Ringoes area where they raised their four children.
Rose was predeceased by her husband Robert in 1999. Rose is survived by a son Randy Schmid of Flemington, NJ; three daughters, Gail Titus of Perkasie, PA, Terry Schmid of Ringoes, NJ and Lisa Keller of Oakhurst, NJ; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a sister Elizabeth Kadezabek of Flemington, NJ and a brother Frank Kadezabek of Flemington, NJ.
Rose worked as a seamstress at The Chute Shop and National Parachute Company in Flemington, NJ, until retiring in 2010. Rose loved working in her garden, mowing her lawn and walking with her sister Liz.
Funeral services and interment will be private under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. There will be no calling hours.

Florence N. Cornell
FLEMINGTON, NJ - Florence N. Cornell, age 84 years, of Flemington, NJ, died on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, in Bridgeway Nursing Center, Bridgewater, NJ.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, July 25, 1928, daughter of the late Edward and Eleanor Sturm Nash, she had formerly resided in Bridgewater Township for many years and also in Florida for several years and had resided in Flemington for five years.
She was a former legal secretary and also was formerly an office manager.
She was a volunteer for the ASPCA in Florida and was also an active volunteer for the Girl Scouts in Bridgewater, NJ.
Her husband, Harold Cornell, died in 1997. Surviving are a daughter, Susan Mitcheltree of Flemington, NJ; two sons, Kevin Cornell of Flemington, NJ, and Paul Cornell of Richmond, VA; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2012, at 11:00 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. There will be no calling hours.
