Marion Haster Clayton
WINSTON-SALEM, NC - Mrs. Marion Haster Clayton passed away January 2, 2013 at the age of 103. She was preceded in death by her husband John Raymond Clayton and her son Raymond Arthur Clayton.
A long-time resident of Clemmons, she was born in New Jersey to Joseph and Anna Haster on June 9, 1909. She worked for Prudential Insurance and Thalhimers department store where she was an award winning salesperson.
She was a long-time member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Winston-Salem.
Marion is survived by her daughter-in-law Barbara Clayton of Readington Township, NJ; her two grandsons, Matthew A. Clayton and his wife Joanne Jebran Clayton of North Wales, PA; and Mark T. Clayton and his wife Dawn Ballard Clayton of Durham, NC; as well as her four great grandchildren, Joshua, Nikki, Eric and Alex.
Visitation will be at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church on 335 Springdale Ave. in Winston-Salem on Tuesday, January 8 at 6:30 pm. A memorial mass will follow at 7:00 p.m., all under the direction of the Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, Silas Creek Chapel, Winston-Salem, NC (336.765.8181).
Graveside Services will take place at a day and time to be announced in Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover, NJ, under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Cecilia V. Quigley
RARITAN TOWNSHIP, NJ - Cecilia V. Quigley, age 94 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Friday, January 4, 2013 in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Jersey City, NJ, April 2, 1918 she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Anna Petrilla Klepper. Cecilia and her husband, Thomas J. Quigley, moved to Flemington from Jersey City after World War II and, in those early years, was a stay-at-home Mom enabling her to not only tend to her children but, along with Tom, become involved in a number of civic and social organizations.
In 1966 the couple fulfilled a long-standing dream by visiting relatives in Ireland and members of the French Underground who shielded Tom and his fellow soldiers for a period after the D-Day invasion. It was after Tom's death in 1967 that she joined the Flemington National Bank & Trust Co. in the student loan department.
In the years following she traveled with her cronies and continued her social and political organization activities. Among those activities Cecilia was involved with were being a volunteer Red Cross nurses aide at Hunterdon Medical Center when it first opened; serving as a volunteer aide assisting children to read at Flemington Elementary School; serving as President of the St. Magdalen Church Rosary Altar Society; and being an active member of the Hunterdon County Senior Citizens group.
In addition to her husband, she was pre-deceased by three sisters, Anna Williams, Helen Gordon and Margaret Wright.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Fennelly and Barbara Quigley of Bethlehem, CT and Michael and Ann Quigley of Denver, CO; four granddaughters, Jacqueline Granski, Ariel Quigley-Paul and her husband, Scott, Lissa Quigley and Bridget K. Quigley Blakley; and a grandson Michael and his companion Karen Satterwhite.
A Mass of Christian Burial
will be celebrated on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment

Peter J. Mina
FLEMINGTON, NJ - Peter J. Mina, age 86 years, of Flemington, NJ, died on Friday, January 4, 2013 at the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born at home in Flemington, March 19, 1925, son of the late Vincent and Grace Carolla Mina, he was a lifelong area resident.
During his school years, Peter worked at the family business, Flemington Floral Company & Greenhouses. A 1943 graduate of Flemington High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy during World War II and was honorably discharged at the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He then went on to become an Inspection Supervisor with the State of New Jersey Department of Agriculture.
A communicant of St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, NJ, he had formerly been an altar server for many years. He was a member of both the American Legion and V.F.W. Posts of Flemington, NJ.
An avid fan of the wrestling program at Hunterdon Central Regional High School, Peter also enjoyed and owned Model T and Model A Ford antique automobiles and enjoyed taking them to car shows.
His wife of nine years, Georgia Mary Mina, died in 2009. He was also pre-deceased by a brother, Tony Mina.
Surviving are his daughter, Leigh-Ann Hutchins Terrell of Lake Ariel, PA; three siblings, Mary of Flemington, NJ, Rosie of Florida, NY and Albert of Lambertville, NJ; his mother-in-law, Mary Waisempacher Lesko of Flemington, NJ; a sister-in-law, Ellen A. Chromeck of Raritan Township, NJ; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gloria A. and Harry Quick of Delaware Township, NJ; a sister-in-law and his longtime caregiver, Suzanne D. Leupold of Raritan Township, NJ; several nieces and nephews; and many longtime friends.
Funeral Services will take place Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment

Frances Bernard
RARITAN TOWNSHIP, NJ - Frances Bernard, age 87 years, died on Sunday, December 30, 2012 in Capital Health Regional Medical Center, Trenton, NJ.
Born in West Hoboken, NJ, March 31, 1925, daughter of the late Joseph Vanore and Teresa La Bagnara, she had resided in the Flemington area for the past two years before moving from Palisades Park, NJ.
She was pre-deceased by her husband August P. Bernard. Surviving are three sons; Richard Bernard of Flemington, NJ, Robert Bernard of Toms River, NJ and Ronald Bernard of Farmington, NJ; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday at 11 AM in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment

Peter G. Vogel
DELAWARE TOWNSHIP, NJ - Peter G. Vogel, age 84 years, of Delaware Township, NJ, died Monday, December 31, 2012, at his home.
Born in Stockton, NJ, October 8, 1928, son of the late Tito and Savina Hettman Vogel, he had resided in Delaware Township since 1957.
An avid bowler who also enjoyed fishing, he was a retired self-employed carpenter. He also was a US Army veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife of fifty-seven years, Grace Ellis Vogel; a daughter, Grace Lefebvre of Stockton, NJ; two grandchildren, Mike Winarz and Jessica Lefebvre; two brothers, William Vogel of Lambertville, NJ and Walter Vogel of South Carolina; and four sisters, Barbara Childes of Browns Mill, NJ, Eva Brown of Flemington, NJ, Betty Horner of Milford, NJ, and Rose Nickols in South Carolina.
Another daughter, JoAnn Winarz, died in 2003.
Funeral Services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment
will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Rosemont, NJ. Visitation will be Friday from 12:30 until time of service in the Funeral Home.
Margaret L. Scotch
FLEMINGTON, NJ - Margaret L. Scotch, age 91 years, of Flemington, NJ, died on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, April 16, 1921, she had resided in the area for the past three years, having formerly lived in Locust Grove, VA and Berkeley Heights, NJ.
A longtime meber of the theater group, "Lake of the Woods Players" in Virginia, she was formerly the Office Manger of L.B. Coddington Wholesale Rose Growers, Murray Hill, NJ.
Her husband of sixty-one years, Steven R. Scotch, died in 2005. She was also pre-deceased by two siblings, Albert Lamb and Grace Moritz
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Scotch Quairoli and Edward Quairoli of Ringoes, NJ; her son and daughter-in-law, Steven R. Scotch, Jr. and Marcella Scotch of Myrtle Beach, SC; four grandchildren, Jennifer Scotch Bombardier, Steven R. Scotch, III, Kristine Quairoli Plumstead and Alison Quairoli; three great grandchildren, Kendal Plumstead, Branson Bombardier and Caden Scotch; and her sister, Iris Randolph of Baldwinsville, NY.
