Ronald Liska
EAST AMWELL TOWNSHIP, NJ - Ronald (Ron) Liska, age 73 years, of East Amwell Township, NJ, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side Wednesday, April 3, 2013 in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
The world lost a caring family man and an influential member of society.
A proud resident of Ringoes, NJ, Ron will be missed greatly by his family and friends. Ron was born in Manhattan, NY, September 15, 1939, and made his first impression in this world by winning the "New York City Most Beautiful Baby Competition". He continued his way through life always having fun, and was a very hard worker. Eventually he opened his own elevator company, fearlessly competing with union contractors, yet staying proud and strong.
He wisely used his time building a beautiful family. He moved his family to Ringoes, NJ to build a better life. Here he built a reputation as a responsible man who loved to celebrate.
Ron is survived by his wife of forty-three years, Janet Liska; a son, Craig Liska; and a daughter, Tara Jarret. Added proudly to his family over the years were "son" Scott Gilligan, son-in-law Ryan Jarret, and three grandsons: Sean Jarret, Cameron Jarret, and Cade Jarret; and also a bevy of friends and business associates. All individuals, wonderful each in their own respect, will be heartbroken by this great loss.
Ron was a proud veteran of the United States Army, an avid aviator, and a lover of dogs, ice hockey, and fishing.
Ron loved to take to the air, but eye complications grounded him from flying. Instead, he shared this great love with his grandson Sean, watching planes at Doylestown Airport. The two spent hours watching planes fly with the same sparkle in their eyes, loving every moment together.
Ron's love for his family and life was absolute, and he will be forever remembered that way. -Ryan Jarret-
